What makes Austin such a great place to earn an MBA? Austin is an extremely well-rounded city with plenty to do, eat, and enjoy. It has something for everyone.

Aside from your classmates and location, what was the key part of Texas McCombs’ MBA programming that led you to choose this business school and why was it so important to you? McCombs offered both a solid academic foundation and the flexibility to take classes that I am personally interested in. As a transitioning veteran, I wanted to learn the essentials of business but also develop expertise in other areas.

What course, club or activity excites you the most at Texas McCombs I enjoy the Texas Veterans in Business Club. It’s always refreshing to be around other veterans who have similar previous work experiences and are facing similar challenges academically.  

Looking at your recruitment, what was the moment when you realized Texas McCombs was the right program for you? Why? I went to the first McCombs preview weekend. I was struck by the beauty of the campus, felt connected with current students, and was impressed by Austin. I realized that it was the best of all worlds for an MBA experience.

Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: My biggest accomplishment has been leading Marines and Sailors. They are inspirational and truly represent the best of America.

Looking ahead two years, what would make your MBA experience at McCombs successful? I would say my MBA experience was a success if I leave McCombs with meaningful relationships, a refined business acumen and roadmap for my future career.
