What has been your favorite part of Nashville so far? Why? I love how close Nashville is to some of Tennessee’s most beautiful nature spots. The Great Smoky Mountains and the amazing hiking trails are easily accessible, while still allowing me to enjoy the perks of living in a city.

Aside from your classmates and location, what was the key part of Vanderbilt Owen’s MBA programming that led you to choose this business school and why was it so important to you? The healthcare specialization at Vanderbilt Owen was a decisive factor for me. The program’s strong emphasis on healthcare management and innovation aligns perfectly with my career aspirations in the healthcare industry. The alumni network in this field is also very warm and supportive, which has been invaluable in providing insights and mentorship.

What course, club or activity have you enjoyed the most so far at Vanderbilt Owen? Each year during our Fall break, MBA students have the chance to participate in a “trek” or immersion to get an overview and taste of their desired industry. As someone very interested in the multifaceted careers in healthcare, I participated in the Healthcare immersion program this year. Over the course of five intense days, my classmates and I got see the American healthcare system through many different lenses – from the doctors’ and nurses’ perspectives to the insurance companies’ and scientists’ perspectives. To say this was eye-opening would be an understatement; it gave me a deeper understanding of the industry’s complexities and helped me realize the many areas where I can apply my background and MBA to make a positive impact.

Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: During my time as a biopharma consultant, I had the opportunity to contribute to the launch and post-launch strategy of a groundbreaking leukemia drug. Today, this medication is helping save lives, and I’m proud to have played a role in bringing it to market.

Describe your biggest accomplishment as an MBA student so far? This year, I was honored to be selected as a board member for Nashville Ballet. I applied for this position as part of Owen’s Board Fellows program where we have a chance to sit on the board for a non-profit organization of our choice. With my experience as a dancer, Nashville Ballet’s mission to “perform, teach, and promote dance as an essential and inspiring element of our community” resonated with me. I’m looking forward to giving back to the Nashville community through supporting this organization!

What has been your best memory as an MBA so far? The holiday party right before the Winter break was so much fun! We all got together on Broadway to unwind in a festive mood, and it was a fantastic chance to connect with my cohort outside of the classroom and recruitment activities.
