What makes the case method so attractive as a means to learn and become a better manager? The case method is ideal for exploring diverse challenges across industries, analyzing them from multiple perspectives. Working through cases sharpens business expertise. Team discussions enhance debating skills. And class debates under the teacher’s guidance enrich understanding while structuring problem-solving strategies. This approach allows students to experience countless scenarios in a safe environment within the span of the MBA. What has been your favorite part of Barcelona so far? It’s my home city and sharing Spanish culture with friends while rediscovering it through their eyes has been truly special. Studying in my own country allows me to enjoy the international diversity of the MBA while immersing myself in the vibrant Spanish culture, whether strolling through its streets or studying at home. It’s an extraordinary experience. Aside from your classmates and location, what was the one key part of the IESE Business School MBA programming that led you to choose this business school and why was it so important to you? I love how IESE consistently demonstrates business expertise while emphasizing core values that guide decision-making. From the admissions team to the rest of the staff, it’s clear that people genuinely live these values, striving to give their best in everything they deliver day to day. I aspire to be an outstanding professional, and I truly believe IESE is helping me be the best version of myself. The IESE MBA is known for heavy reading and rigorous academics. Has the program lived up to its reputation? What advice would you give to first-years to help them thrive in the early months of the program? This intense course demands balancing class preparation, job applications, and adapting to a new environment. At IESE, we are surrounded by aspiring future leaders—a challenging but rewarding journey. The rigorous workload teaches us to prioritize, maximize efficiency, and step outside our comfort zones. By pushing our boundaries, we are building resilience and becoming stronger for the challenges ahead, all within a safe environment that fosters personal and professional growth. I recommend being transparent with your teammates and asking for help when needed. It builds a culture of mutual support, where you can return the favor next time. This sense of community is one of the most enriching aspects of teamwork. What course, club or activity have you enjoyed the most so far at IESE? I really enjoyed the Marketing course with Professor Claire Linares. It gave us a great mix of business skills, from crunching the numbers behind marketing strategies, to always thinking about the customer first. We covered everything from everyday products to luxury brands—even exploring what ‘luxury’ really means. I loved how broad the subject was and how deep we went into each case study. Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: I worked at JPMorgan for five years, where my biggest achievement was revolutionizing how the company interprets real estate data. Using creativity, system knowledge, and data analysis, I played a key role in developing an automated solution from scratch with my team. This tool is now used daily and globally by thousands of JPMorgan employees, including C-level executives. Describe your biggest accomplishment as an MBA student so far: I’ve successfully balanced academics, job searching, and building a social network, growing both personally and professionally. Through transparency and clear objectives, my team and I have supported each other in meeting the constant stream of deadlines. My biggest accomplishment has been fostering a team culture centered around supporting and being there for one another. What has been your best memory as an MBA so far? As a team, we’ve organized monthly socials, and my favorite memory is from our first one. We met for a yoga class, and afterwards, I introduced them to ‘pà amb tomàquet’ (a Catalan dish.) Everyone was excited about the Spanish adventure, sharing their stories and experiences. Getting to know each other on a personal level has made us stronger and more connected in our day-to-day work.
