What has been your first impression of the Tuck MBA students and alumni you’ve met so far. Tell us your best Tuck story so far. The overwhelming warmth I received ever since I interacted with Tuck from the interview process and later after I got accepted has been unmatched. Students and alumni have consistently extended a hand to guide me, even after I joined. The Tuck community prides itself in its value of being personal, connected and transformative, and you can see the embodiment of that in Hanover.

My first in-person interaction was at Boston Logan airport, when an alum stopped me, eager to share his memories of tripod hockey!

Aside from your classmates, what was the key part of Dartmouth Tuck’s MBA programming that led you to choose this business school and why was it so important to you? I come from a very intensive finance background, and I chose Tuck because of its intentional focus on general management and its ability to push people out of their comfort zones. Beyond that, the ratio of centers and resources to students was the best I’ve seen, offering access and support that truly stand out. Finally, I’ve always enjoyed connecting with people, and with Tuck’s class size and location, building meaningful relationships and truly knowing everyone feels natural and attainable.

What excites you the most about coming to live in Hanover? What is the one activity you can’t wait to do? I’ve always dreamed of living the American college town lifestyle, and Hanover delivers with style! Access to the outdoors has been Hanover’s greatest gift so far. I’ve canoed the Connecticut River, and look forward to all the winter activities, especially tripod hockey!

What course, club or activity excites you the most at Dartmouth Tuck? The abundance of clubs has been a wonderful surprise! People are very outgoing and open to helping others explore different hobbies and activities which really embodies the warmth of the Tuck community. I have picked up sports I never imagined I would be exposed to.

I’m especially excited about the flexibility of the First-Year Project (FYP). Tackling real life projects that you are passionate about in an educational setting while recruiting a team of classmates is exhilarating.

Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: During my previous role, I was fortunate to be included in the restructuring process of the investment sector of the state pension plan in Kuwait when the team expanded from 15 to more than 100 professionals. Working with management, the investment committee, and consultants to rewrite policies and guidelines and setup a new department was the biggest achievement, especially knowing I am giving back to my country in multiple ways.

What do you hope to do after graduation (at this point)? My goal going into Tuck (and hopefully afterwards) is to pivot into a private credit role. Helping companies and entrepreneurs grow across sectors and geographies has always been my passion and I hope to embody that in my work.

What advice would you give to help potential applicants gain admission into Dartmouth Tuck’s MBA program? In my opinion, Tuck is the perfect place for me to be, but it isn’t for everyone. Anyone who comes to Tuck really wants to be here. Choosing to step away from city life and immerse yourself in the Upper Valley for two years is a very intentional decision. It takes reflecting on your goals in life, on the experience you dream to have, and which school can give you the best outcome.

Once you come to Tuck, you realize how engaged students are, how “all-in” everyone is with the experience of doing an MBA in an environment like Hanover. For applicants in the coming cycle, my advice would be to reach out to as many people as possible from Tuck, current and past. Be intentional with your questions and look for each person’s “why Tuck”. If it’s for you, you’ll find a pull that’s very strong and telling.
