Aside from your classmates, what was the key part of Kenan-Flagler’s MBA curriculum or programming that led you to choose this business school and why was it so important to you? The opportunity to engage in experiential learning through consulting projects and global business exposure. This aligns with my passion for practical, results-driven learning and my goal to contribute meaningfully to the global financial landscape.

What are some advantages you’ve seen in earning your MBA in Chapel Hill? Chapel Hill offers a welcoming community where collaboration thrives, with access to top-tier academics and close proximity to financial hubs like Charlotte and Washington, D.C. It’s the perfect place to grow, learn and build meaningful connections that will last throughout my career.

What course, club or activity excites you the most at Kenan-Flagler? I’m really excited about the Consulting Club at UNC Kenan-Flagler. It’s a great opportunity to dive into real-world problems, work alongside motivated peers, and learn from industry leaders. I’m looking forward to growing my strategic thinking and collaborating with others who share my interest in making an impact.

Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: My biggest accomplishment was rebuilding relationships with microfinance institutions in Peru, which were often overlooked by the bank. As relationship manager for microfinance institutions, I led an initiative to integrate these institutions into BCP’s ecosystem, providing accessible payment channels for underserved communities, many of whom lived in rural areas and spent hours traveling just to make loan payments. This created inefficiencies and discouraged engagement with formal financial systems. By incorporating them into our collection network, we made payments easier through mobile apps and local stores. I also secured a $70M credit line for microfinance institutions at reduced rates. This experience fundamentally deepened my perspective on leadership, adding a socially responsible component. I learned that impactful leadership requires breaking down existing constraints and challenging the status quo to create new opportunities for both the company and society as a whole.

Describe the best memory of your life so far? Why does that moment resonate with you? My best memory so far was when I traveled to a remote village in Peru to help deliver a community-based program. After hours of travel and seeing the challenges people face, we provided financial literacy workshops to micro-entrepreneurs. The warmth and gratitude from the people were overwhelming. That moment resonated with me because it reminded me why I’m passionate about financial inclusion, helping others gain the knowledge and tools to empower their lives. It was a humbling experience that reinforced my belief in the power of giving back and making a tangible impact.

What do you hope to do after graduation (at this point)? After graduation, I hope to use my MBA to help organizations solve complex problems, especially in emerging markets. I’m drawn to consulting and finance because I want to make a real impact by driving change and helping businesses grow in ways that benefit both people and profits. I also look forward to continuing to learn and grow, both professionally and personally. In the end, I want to use my skills and experiences to contribute to projects that not only succeed in business but also make a positive impact on society.
