I’m your host, Kristy Bleizeffer, and I’ll be highlighting the most important P&Q stories you might have missed. So, let’s get to it. No. 1: The Top One-Year MBA Programs In The United States The one-year MBA was once considered a narrow option – useful for sponsored consultants and bankers, perhaps, but hardly a centerpiece of American management education. Today, the format may be having a moment. One-year MBAs are gaining renewed attention as professionals weigh the rising opportunity cost of stepping away from work and employers look for leaders who can broaden their skills without disappearing for two full years. What was once a workaround increasingly looks like a strategic choice. In this story, we highlight 23 one-year MBAs from business schools ranked our composite full-time MBA ranking. You’ll find the list on our homepage. No. 2: Meet Harvard Business School’s MBA Class Of 2027 HBS remained one of the world’s most selective graduate business schools during the 2024-2025 admissions cycle, accepting just 11.3% of applicants. Overall, the school received 9,409 applications, with roughly 87% of accepted applicants ultimately choosing to enroll. In total, there are 943 students in the MBA Class of 2027. In our latest installation of our popular Meet the Class series, we profile 9 standout members of Harvard’s MBA Class of 2027. Find it in our trending tab. No. 3: Yale SOM Deepens Engineering Ties To Train A New Generation Of Tech-Savvy Business Leaders Yale School of Management has a long track record of close collaboration with other of Yale’s prestigious academic schools. But, its working relationship with engineering was somewhat constrained. For decades, the Yale School of Engineering & Applied Science (SEAS) was embedded within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, making for a lot of layers of decision makers to get through. In 2022, SEAS became its own, stand-alone school. Ever since, SOM has deliberately tightened connections with engineering and computer science through new joint degrees, cross-listed coursework, shared AI tools, and more programs that help students launch startups. This story highlights the closer connection, and you can find it now on our homepage.
