Aside from your classmates, what was the key part of HEC Paris’ MBA programming that led you to choose this business school and why was it so important to you? Aside from the diversity and caliber of my classmates, what truly led me to choose the HEC Paris MBA was its unique “Head, Hands, and Heart” leadership philosophy. This approach—rooted in rigorous methods and a deeply humanistic vision—stood out as a defining element of the program.

As a lawyer specializing in emerging technologies, particularly blockchain, I wasn’t simply looking to sharpen my skills. I was seeking a transformation: the opportunity to evolve into a more ethical, responsible, and engaged leader. The “Head, Hands, and Heart” framework resonated deeply with that aspiration. It offers a holistic structure that allows me to strengthen my expertise and knowledge, while shaping a personal and coherent vision of leadership in a world undergoing constant and profound transformation.

What course, club or activity excites you the most at HEC Paris? What excites me most at HEC Paris is the combination of the entrepreneurship specialization, the HEC Finance program, and the HEC Consulting Club. As a legal executive in a fintech startup, I was directly involved in strategic planning, business development, investor relations, and market positioning. These experiences sparked my ambition to move beyond legal advisory roles and embrace a broader entrepreneurial and financial leadership perspective.

The entrepreneurship specialization would give me the structured tools to scale ventures with clarity—from business model validation to go-to-market strategy. The HEC MBA Finance program, with its emphasis on applied learning, financial strategy, and exposure to real-world investment scenarios, would be a unique opportunity to deepen my financial skillset in a high-stakes, impact-driven environment. Meanwhile, the consulting club would sharpen my problem-solving approach and prepare me to support innovation-driven companies through strategic advisory work.

Together, these activities would enhance my ability to lead, advise, and grow ventures at the crossroads of law, tech, and finance—whether as a founder, a board member, or a strategic consultant.

HEC Paris is just 17 kilometers from Paris. What do you see as the best part of earning your MBA so close to Paris? Proximity to Paris offers privileged access to one of the world’s most vibrant and influential economic ecosystems. The city provides countless opportunities to engage with leading corporations, innovative startups, and high-level conferences, all within a culturally rich environment. In this context, Paris becomes a natural extension of the academic experience—a setting where strategic thinking is continuously enhanced by global exposure, fostering both personal and professional development.

Why did you choose a 16-month program over a one-year program? How do you see a HEC Paris MBA giving you an advantage in the marketplace? I chose a 16-month MBA program because I was not simply seeking a career boost—I was looking for a profound professional and personal transformation. Coming from a legal background with a specialization in emerging technologies, I wanted the time and space to explore new industries, strengthen my strategic acumen, and redefine my leadership approach.

The structure of the HEC Paris MBA, with its dedicated specialization phase, hands-on projects, and its finance program, allows for deeper immersion and more meaningful engagement with both academic content and the job market. It provides the flexibility to pivot, experiment, and refine one’s career goals with clarity.

Moreover, HEC Paris offers a unique positioning in the global marketplace. Its strong ties to European and international companies, combined with its humanistic approach to leadership and its location at the heart of continental Europe, give graduates a distinct edge. They are not only well-trained managers, but adaptable, ethical leaders prepared to navigate complexity across borders and industries.

Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: My greatest professional accomplishment has been serving as Chief Legal Officer and executive team member of a fintech startup building a blockchain-based market infrastructure. Beyond managing the complex regulatory and legal framework—interfacing with financial authorities such as the AMF and ACPR—I took an active leadership role in the company’s overall strategy.

I led initiatives well beyond the legal domain: shaping the business model, structuring partnerships, driving marketing efforts, and supporting investor outreach. I helped position the company as a credible player in the emerging digital finance ecosystem by aligning legal robustness with business innovation.

This experience pushed me far outside the traditional legal silo. It taught me how to lead under uncertainty, think across disciplines, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams. It also gave me a strong foundation in entrepreneurial thinking—something I now seek to strengthen further through business school, in order to scale that impact.

What has been the defining experience in your life? How has it prepared you for the rigors of business school and your career in general? One of the most defining experiences in my life was conducting my Ph.D. research on “The recognition of robots as legal entities” across two countries—France and Japan. This experience was not only intellectually demanding, but also culturally and personally transformative. Navigating distinct academic traditions, mastering legal systems from both civil and tech-forward jurisdictions, and presenting at conferences in Osaka and Tokyo taught me how to adapt rapidly, communicate complex ideas clearly, and engage with stakeholders from diverse perspectives.

This period shaped my capacity to thrive under pressure, synthesize abstract legal and technical concepts, and lead long-term projects independently. It also sparked my deep interest in the intersection of law, technology, and innovation—an interest that now drives my work as Chief Legal Officer, where I build legal frameworks for digital finance based on the blockchain technology, manage regulatory risk, and lead high-stakes negotiations with public authorities.

The analytical rigor, cross-cultural agility, and leadership skills I developed during that time have directly prepared me for both the intensity of business school and the strategic challenges of a global legal-tech career.

Looking ahead two years, what would make your MBA experience successful? A successful MBA experience, for me, would mean leaving HEC Paris with a sharper strategic mindset, a solid command of financial decision-making, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams in high-stakes, innovation-driven environments. I aim to transition from being a legal expert operating within business strategy to becoming a business leader with legal, financial, and operational fluency.

Success would also mean building a diverse, international network of peers, mentors, and collaborators—people I can challenge, learn from, and one day build with. Whether I return to the fintech sector, join a consulting firm, or launch my own venture, the MBA will have fulfilled its mission if I graduate with the tools, insights, and confidence to scale complex ideas into sustainable business models.
