I worked with Heidy as my school specialist for Stanford GSB. She had very strong insights into the culture and attitude of the school and was very helpful with helping me highlight my strong points and shore up my weak points in my application.
Heidy was great to work with because she pushed me to get the most out of my story. I honestly wouldn’t have as clear a picture of how my past experiences have shaped who I am if I hadn’t worked with Heidy. Heidy suited me as a consultant because she strives to get the most out of a situation. When I wrote what I thought was a great essay for my Harvard Business School application, Heidy said, “Hey that’s great, your writing is improving. Now go and write a completely new essay focusing on a different theme. You can do better!” This attitude and approach resulted in a stepwise improvement in my writing. It wasn’t an easy process, because each time I thought I was ready to move on, Heidy would encourage me to do better. Heidy’s reviews, comments, and suggestions sent me searching for meaning in all sorts of different experiences that I had previously not paid much thought to. Over time, this process enabled me to better understand myself and why I am pursuing an MBA. Heidy helped me to build the confidence to unapologetically be myself in the face of uncertainty. I have to say that is a very rewarding outcome because I walked away from my interviews feeling confident that I would find meaning in my career regardless of whether I was admitted to any of the schools I applied to. I was ultimately admitted to three of the most highly regarded business schools in the world, and I withdrew from one other business school before they released my admission decision. I have also been offered a number of generous scholarships. In the end, I decided to attend Harvard Business School, which has been the school of my dreams for many years.
Heidy was very insightful. I came from a non-traditional background. She was able to identify my weakness and strength and offered constructive feedback and advice. Through the discussion with her, I got a better picture of what the schools are generally looking for, and therefore I was able to present myself better for my applications. Heidy is professional, insightful and is flexible with her schedules. I enjoy interacting with her, and I am sure others do as well.
Working with Heidy throughout the application process was seamless. Not only was she very dependable, responsive, and flexible with my schedule, but also she shared invaluable advice regarding how to shape my story and prepare for the interview. I will be the first to admit that I did not have a competitive GMAT score for the school to which I was applying, but despite this fact, Heidy helped me get into my dream school. I couldn’t thank her for her support enough. I highly recommend her!
Heidy was very helpful all along the application process. She was quick to respond to any inquiries and had insightful tips. I definitely recommend Heidy to anyone looking for an admissions consultant!
