I honestly cannot recommend Fortuna enough! I interviewed with 3 different consulting companies prior to deciding on Fortuna. They don’t pressure you into working with someone but instead are extremely active in helping you set up coach interviews and finding your best match. The team at Fortuna was extremely helpful and would leverage each other’s expertise to help me craft the best application. Each of my applications/essays/school choices received attention from ~3 directors/consultants.
Cassandra was amazing since our very first call! I reached out to her in mid-July with zero progress on my applications, and we submitted all my applications by October. From the very beginning, she was very honest in providing feedback and the realistic programs to apply to. From there, she recognized my strengths and made sure my applications really highlighted them. I most valued her ability to help me craft a compelling story and her WRITING SKILLS (!), something that I knew I needed help with. I received offers from HEC Paris (with scholarship!) and Cambridge Judge.
The entire process was surprisingly enjoyable, all thanks to Cassandra!
If I could back in time, I would have met Karen sooner! Coming out of an unsuccessful MBA application year, I decided to seek out help. I signed up for numerous introductory sessions with MBA consultants, but Karen stood out from the rest! From the start, Karen was proactive, attentive, and thoughtful. She took the time to understand my background and helped me put my best foot forward for my essays, resume, and interview prep. Most importantly, I never felt misguided or pushed, and because of this, Karen was someone I could trust. There’s so much more I want to say, but ultimately, Karen was a joy to work with, and I am happy to announce that I will be attending Wharton (my top choice) this August.
When I started my MBA process, I had already worked in admissions consulting myself for 4+ years, albeit at the undergrad level. Even though I was very familiar with personal essay-writing, interview prep, etc., Heidi *still* added tremendous value to my MBA applications.
First, I was applying from a “non-traditional” business background, and Heidi was instrumental in helping me capture and articulate my experiences in a clear, concise way that would make sense to an admissions reader. From there, with thought-provoking questions and comments, Heidi guided me to develop a coherent and compelling application “narrative” that connected my past experiences with concrete post-MBA goals. At first, I signed on with Fortuna to do a one-school package. But I quickly realized how helpful Heidi was and began adding on more hours, more interview prep, etc. Ultimately, I was very proud of the applications I submitted, and I can’t imagine having achieved such high-quality without Heidi’s advice and expertise.
In terms of working style, Heidi is reliable and attentive. She checked in on my progress regularly, responded to my questions in a timely manner, and always turned around essay edits within a day or two (even faster, as we got close to deadlines). On several occasions, she sent me articles/online events that she thought I might be interested in given my career goals. In such a fundamentally stressful process, working with someone as reliable and thoughtful as Heidi went a long way in helping me (mostly) preserve my sanity!
So, my best advice to you: work with Heidi, and get a multi-school package from the get-go. If you’re anything like me, you’ll find yourself wanting Heidi’s sage input on as many application materials as possible.
(Lastly, including this info because I know some people look for it as they read reviews: I was admitted to several top 10 programs, including Wharton and Kellogg.)
I worked with Karla on my application and admission to HBS, my target school. I chose Karla because she had direct experience working at HBS, which made her stand out against other consultants. What makes Karla distinctive is that on top of her experience, she has a great ability to tell the story and find the thread that draws through all your experiences. This talent along with her personable nature made the essay drafting experience top-notch. When it came to the interviews, her insight was extremely helpful; she was attuned to the process and even knew my interviewer, so our mock interviews made me feel well prepared. Overall, I would definitely recommend Karla!
I do not think I would have gotten into both Harvard Business School and MIT Sloan without Karen’s help. I was very hesitant to use a consultant service and came to Karen very late in the process. I was fairly confident about the strength of my story and credentials but Karen truly took me to the next level as an applicant. From essays to resumes, every part of my application was elevated by Karen’s sharp and strategic reviews. Even her mock interview was incredibly rigorous and effective for my preparation.
Whether you need tactical help to get you over the edge or a full application roadmap, I strongly encourage you to work with Karen. She has an endless wealth of knowledge about the MBA process and is a pleasure to work with.
When I decided to apply to Wharton, Columbia, and Chicago Booth, I thought getting into any of these programs would be next to impossible for someone with my background. Now, after working with Karen for my Round 1 admissions-class of 2023-I have offers from both Wharton and Columbia in what was the most competitive app cycle in years. I still can’t believe it.
Throughout the application process, Karen was phenomenal and supportive, especially because I didn’t believe in my own candidacy. She did. Karen sharpened my resume, drew out my personal history and stories and had me tell them as clearly as possible in my essays. More, her understanding of what it takes to get into these top programs gave me a significant edge. This manifested in her relentlessness in ensuring that each draft of my essay and resume strengthened my candidacy and ensured that I stand out in the broader applicant pool.
Karen was also quite hands on with my interview prep for all three schools. I remember, she went to great lengths to ensure I was familiar with Wharton’s Team Based Discussion and organized a mock TBD just so I could get a feel for what to expect on interview day. With her guidance, I scaled all three interviews.
Honestly, what I am most sure of is that I likely wouldn’t have received any of these offers without her guidance. Thanks Karen.
It was an absolute pleasure working with Karen and the Fortuna Admissions team on my MBA applications. I had a phenomenal experience with the 3-school package and would highly recommend it to any prospective applicant.
Throughout the application process, Karen took the time to get to know me on a personal and professional level. She was very invested in my success from the get-go, taking the time to understand why I wanted to attend business school and to help me select appropriate reach and target programs. She always responded in a timely manner and consistently found ways to improve my candidacy.
Karen was a tremendous help during every stage of the application process. She helped me refine the content and format of my resume, prepare my recommendation requests, brainstorm essay ideas, proofread countless essay iterations, and prepare for interviews. Additionally, she was very resourceful, leveraging the expertise of her fellow coaches and directors to ensure my applications were competitive.
I’m not sure how I would have navigated this lengthy application process without her guidance. Thanks so much Karen! I am beyond excited to be attending one of my dream programs next year with a merit scholarship!
Karen was able to take my unique background and story and help craft it into a great narrative. She was extremely responsive and helpful, and went the extra mile to work with my schedule. She is extremely organized and would typically get me thorough feedback within a day. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone applying for an MBA; she was worth every penny. I got into my top choice (HSW) and had other options as well among the M7.
Coming into the MBA application process I had virtually no idea what to expect. I was quickly overwhelmed by the amount of information out there, so I made the decision to work with a consultant. Karen was one of the first consultants that I spoke with, but even after speaking with over ten others, I definitely felt the most comfortable with her. Deciding to work with Karen turned out to be one of the best decisions that I’ve made.
Karen has been there every step of the way, frequently going above and beyond to help me with every aspect of the application process. Karen’s insights and suggestions for my essays and overall narrative have been extremely helpful, as she’s really worked with me to craft a fluid and convincing story. Her feedback is extremely thorough and detailed, but she also never fails to view each individual piece of the application in the context of the broader picture. Beyond her help with the essays, Karen has been there to answer every question that I’ve had, no matter how trivial. I cannot emphasize enough how quickly she responds to my questions, and how amazing her overall work ethic is. Karen has been an incredibly effective guide throughout this stressful time, and has offered reassuring, but honest, advice each step of the way.
Karen is exceedingly organized, very personable and friendly, and great at crafting compelling stories. I cannot recommend her highly enough, as with her guidance and support I’ve been admitted to two of my top choices. I don’t know what it’s like to work with other consultants, but I can’t imagine finding a better one than Karen!
Karen was a phenomenal ally to have throughout the application process.
I connected with Karen relatively late (approx. 4 weeks before submission), after I had my story down and prelim essays already drafted.
However, I am so glad I reached out to Fortuna and Karen. My writing was very clinical and Karen’s insight/thoughts really helped me pull out my personality and inner voice to put onto the page. I think this really was the differentiating factor that helped my story pop.
Karen was great to work with. Even during the busy holiday season, she was able to get back to me with feedback or answer any questions often within a day.
After I got the interview invite, Karen helped me prep with a mock interview and was super patient with all of my at times neurotic questions. Ended up with an offer from CBS. Would highly recommend!
When I started my bschool application journey, I interviewed several consultants. Karen was the last one I interviewed, and she really stood out because she was so responsive in her communications (I was considering applying in the extended COVID round, and she and I had some long back and forths over email to figure out if it was the right move – before I had even signed with her!).
My main concern was that perhaps she was TOO nice. The other consultants tended to emphasize the weaknesses in my application (well, your quant score is only in the x percentile, so you should probably consider retaking after signing up for my GMAT tutorial service…..). Karen was positive from the getgo and told me straight up that whatever weaknesses there were in my application could be handled with the right story.
Karen and I went through multiple rounds of each bit of application material (and her being nice did not stop her from drilling down on my essays and resume). She is very patient and takes the time to help you with the little things, from ‘Do I sound too rehearsed in this video essay?’ to ‘which of these pictures should I include in my Columbia application?’ What is more, her positive attitude was extremely helpful throughout this anxiety-inducing process.
Ultimately, I received acceptances to Kellogg ($$$), Haas ($$) and Columbia! I am absolutely thrilled and know I could not have done it without her. I highly recommend Karen to anyone seeking a bschool consultant.
In early 2020, I spent weeks doing consultations with a handful of various consultants. Once I met Karen the decision was simple (the consultation was exponentially better than the others) and my experience could not have been any better. Karen was awesome to work with! Whether it was jumping on countless Zoom calls to answer questions, helping me craft a unique strategy around each school I applied to, or staying patient with me as I kept iterating on my essays, Karen was extremely helpful throughout (also, as mentioned in the other comments, Karen’s response time is off the charts). On paper I felt I would be competitive at most programs, but I wasn’t optimistic on my chances to get into any of the M7. Every time I felt discouraged, Karen was there pushing me along, genuinely believing in me, and building up my confidence. I ended up submitting five applications in R1 (all to M7 schools), and was hoping I’d get lucky on one or two. I ended up going 4/5 on interviews and accepted to two of my top three choices (HBS / GSB / W). I’d highly recommend Karen to anyone considering hiring an admissions consultant!
I applied to London Business school during an extremely competitive year (in take of Aug 2021) working in a high demanding job. I connected with Cassandra early on in the process while Fortuna was hosting a session on MBA admissions. At the very beginning I didn’t really understand the value of a good consultant but as I went along the process, I realised a consultant is more than just someone who reviews/reads your application material and gives feedback. The best way to define a consultant in this process is an extended family member/a life coach, who gets to know your life story in a short time and basis that advises and helps you to secure a MBA admission. Cassandra motivated me (emotionally and mentally) and kept me going through some very anxious and nerve racking moments (there are way too many of these along the road), I know the value of this motivation might not make sense but it goes a LONG WAY! Getting my interview invite from London Business School (LBS), Cassandra immediately got me ready for the interview and even had Emma (former Senior Manager at LBS admission) prep me for my interview. Emma and Cassandra’s inputs really helped me and 95%+ of the questions in my interview I had already covered with them helping me give a more confident interview. LBS also has 2 video questions to be answered and Cassandra went above and beyond to both provide me a wide question bank they asked in the past and further reviewed my answers to help me improve that played a major role in securing my admission at LBS. Fortuna has an in-depth understanding of each school with comprehensive analysis of student profiles/geographies represented, etc. (beyond just what is there on school websites) which is very very helpful while choosing schools. At the interview stage Cassandra shared a comprehensive list of 50+ questions divided by segment that the school asked potential admits (this again helped a lot). Cassandra is the cornerstone for my LBS admission and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Cassandra and am looking forward to meeting her in person in London.
I used the comprehensive package with Heidi, which definitely paid off. I came into the MBA admissions process without a solid understanding of how schools evaluate candidates, and how to position my story in a compelling way. Heidi helped guide me through the process and highlight the unique parts of my background, and her advice was incredibly useful to get a better understanding of how I could stand out in a well-represented pre-MBA demographic (finance). Her feedback on my essays and help with interview prep was the most critical piece, and made me come away feeling that I was putting my best foot forward. Overall, the results speak for themselves – I was accepted to two of my top choice M7 programs.
Working with Malvina has been a fantastic experience. I was a reapplicant (rejected without interview), coming from an over-represented background to being accepted into a top-tier program. She spent countless hours reviewing my essays and application questions and guided me as I doubted each answer. When I struggled to figure out what I was trying to convey, she helped me understand the nuances of the questions I was answering and how to best differentiate myself. During my interviews, she worked tirelessly to conduct mock interviews (and she was tough!) so that I was well-prepared to tackle any question. I would highly recommend her.
Brittany was incredibly gifted at helping me bring my stories together into a cohesive, logical, and convincing message to the schools I applied to. As a military veteran, I wasn’t sure exactly which stories would resonate best with admissions committees. Brittany’s expertise took the stress out of this crucial part of my applications. She also made corrections that helped me reduce jargon and make my essays understandable to everyone. The feedback I received through the Wharton prep-TBD was extremely helpful as well, and I will be heading to Wharton this fall!
Zach is a fantastic Admissions Consultant. The first thing that struck me about Zach are his strong listening and teamwork skills. Zach listens, considers, contemplates, and raises questions. These skills, coupled with his design and philosophy experience, allows him to bring thoughtful, creative ideas to the table. Zach was invaluable in helping me with tasks both big and small, from refining my story and future goals to word edits and a more effective resume format. His broad experience across many domains really shined through here. Finally, when I had questions about a specific school, Zach went above and beyond to solicit information (and time) from other consultants at Fortuna. In summary: Zach really cares… and that’s important. I give Zach my highest recommendation and am very pleased with my ROI.
When I started thinking about Business School, I knew having the right coach would be essential. Coming from an engineering background and having non-traditional goals post-MBA, I needed someone who could highlight specific traits in my application and help me craft my story. Due diligence and research led to countless calls with consultants, but I never found the right fit – until I talked to Melissa.
From our very first engagement, Melissa prompted me in ways that made me reflect more and understand myself better – a reflection that ultimately led to acceptance offers from Top US and European schools. Despite an extremely competitive application cycle, Melissa’s continual support, approachable character, and candor feedback kept me motivated, engaged, and on-point.
If you’re set on business school, make sure to get guidance not just from someone who can craft your story, but from someone who can help you look inward and introspect. Melissa is that person.
Karla was a true joy to work with, I could not recommend her highly enough — she really knows her stuff. Karla is an amazing storyteller, she is able to help you connect the dots and put together an application package that is authentic and compelling. I could not have done this process without her – she was my confidant, advisor and life coach through this all.
Before I talk about Bill I want to touch on why Fortuna is fantastic. I looked into a few admissions consultancies before settling on Fortuna. There simply isn’t another admissions consultancy out there with more depth and breadth of MBA admissions knowledge than Fortuna. I had the pleasure of working with Bill for the most part, but I truly felt like I had the full support of the entire Fortuna team.
As for Bill specifically, his extensive experience and background in MBA admissions clearly come through when you speak with him. There is probably no question or concern you have that he doesn’t have the answer to, but in case he doesn’t, you can tap into Fortuna’s team of consultants who are equally as knowledgeable as Bill.
Bill nails every aspect of what you’d expect from a top-notch consultant. He is very flexible, always available, and replies promptly and thoroughly to any question you may have no matter how simple they may be. He takes a very personal approach to you and allows your own story and personality to shine. He’ll make sure you’re on track, while also making sure you stay sane through the entire process. I was admitted to Wharton and Columbia during a tough application cycle and I’m sure that was in no small part due to Bill’s support. I can confidently recommend Bill to any MBA applicant without reservations.
Would 100% recommend to anyone! I signed up for a 5-school package with Fortuna and was super lucky to have Brittany as my coach. From day 1, I would feel less stressed every time after talking with her. Our chats were productive but also casual – it felt very much like catching up with an old friend as my story gets clearer and stronger. She made herself available and would always be prepared whenever we talk, and this installed a lot of confidence as I went through essays and interview prep. With her help, I was able to get into Wharton, and I will be attending Fall 2021!
Overall experience with Fortuna Admission team was great and would definitely recommend using their services if you need help with shaping your story! First, I had a meeting with Matt Symonds, who lifted my hopes and tried to highlight the features of my story that business schools would love. This was a ~45 minutes call which helped me take a different perspective on my profile and reflection! (Also, it is free) Once I committed to Fortuna, I started working with Emma on my MiM application. She was very responsive and very helpful whenever I needed her. I would never be able to pull through that process without her help. The specific features I liked about Emma: – First, we met up to get to know each other and discuss the essay topics and short answer questions. Emma is a great listener and at the same time she challenges your ideas to make sure you express yourself in the best possible way. – Once I got into writing the essays, Emma did an amazing job! She corrected the grammar, flow, and overall message of the essays. Emma has a really great understanding of what the b-schools are looking for in your essays! I was actually surprised by the amount of help I received since the MiM package is only 4 hours – Emma definitely spent more than that on my application! – After I got an interview invite, I purchased an additional hour to do a mock interview. Emma asked me basically the same questions I was asked during my actual interview and provided me with great feedback. She took notes of everything I said and once we were done she went through each of the questions providing me with weak and strong points of my answers.
To summarize, I doubt I would be able to do it on my own (especially that I started my application 2.5/3 weeks before the deadline!). Emma structured my approach to the application and provided me with great feedback on everything I did. I would definitely recommend Emma and Fortuna if you are looking into MiM programs or b-schools in general! My best investment of 2020!
As a nontraditional candidate (dance and English major, my first job was at a nonprofit arts organization), I was nervous about the MBA application process. I hoped that a consultant could help me find a balance of playing into my unique background while still presenting a clear picture of how I was equipped for the MBA. After speaking with a few different consulting firms who either glossed over my background or said it was a deficit to overcome, I was introduced to Fortuna and Karla, and it was basically love at the first 4-hour phone call. Karla immediately made me feel confident that my background as an artist was a strength to be explored rather than a deviation to be explained. Over countless phone calls, we worked together to tell my story in a way that was true to my voice, my values, and my goals. Karla was an inexhaustible well of knowledge about the small details of how to engage with the admissions process and finesse my applications, but even more important was her sharp insight that helped me thread the needle from my childhood to my current role to my future plans. The best part of working with Karla was actually how easy she is to talk to, allowing me to open up about my hopes and dreams and favorite quarantine TV binges. Our conversations were incredibly enjoyable, but our close relationship also helped us take my application to the next level. When I got into Stanford and HBS, Karla was the third person I called after my boyfriend and parents. I cannot recommend her enough.
I worked with Brittany on applications for four schools, and was accepted to GSB & Kellogg!
During the beginning of my application process, she was incredibly helpful with structuring my gameplan over the course of a few months leading up to the deadline, and guiding the crafting of my overall story to kick off my essay writing.
And during the end of my process leading up to the finish line, Brittany came to the rescue with answers to my many last-minute questions about tactical, detailed questions on the applications.
I appreciated her quick response time and overall guidance throughout the entire process. Would highly recommend!
Brittany was so amazing and helpful! She supported me during my interview for Wharton and guided me through all of my many questions. She was incredibly responsive and kind and provided tips and nuggets of wisdom unprompted. Her advice was insightful and made me feel really confident going into the actual interview!
I decided to apply to business schools with little to no knowledge about the process. Because of this, I was looking for guidance on how to best tell my story as a non-traditional candidate who hadn’t spent the past few years building up a “typical” MBA resume. After connecting with numerous consultants from 6 different MBA Admissions consultancies, I decided to partner with Rachel. From the start, Rachel provided a measured yet optimistic perspective about my candidacy. This was particularly helpful as I navigated the ups and downs that come with applying to business school. I felt that Rachel would be able to provide honest feedback and direction I knew would be necessary to craft a strong application and not try to oversell or sugarcoat things along the way.
Rachel went through 13 different versions of my main business school essay with me. While editing, she made sure to focus on strengthening my story and voice instead of replacing it with her own. She always managed to send back edits within a day, which was extremely helpful in streamlining the process.
In addition to guiding me through the mechanics of pulling my application together, Rachel also provided personal perspectives from her own journey through business school. As someone who doesn’t come from a community largely comprised of MBA students and alumni, I greatly appreciated Rachel sharing her story with me to help me envision in more detail what the business school experience might be like.
If you are considering partnering with a consultant on your MBA application, I cannot recommend Rachel enough!
Emma was a dream to work with, and with her help I was accepted to one of the top MBA programs in the UK! I connected with Emma late in the Round 2 process, about 2 weeks until the deadline! I had written all my essays already, but Emma helped improve them by an immeasurable amount. In such a short time it felt like she had known me for years and knew exactly the point I was trying to get across. Without changing any of my points, she gave amazing advice on how to enhance my essays and posed thoughtful questions that helped me identify the areas I needed to work on. Emma was incredibly supportive and so comforting during this stressful process and gave her candid and honest opinions on how to improve my profile. With only two weeks until the deadline, Emma was so great at being responsive and supporting me through the process. She is so reassuring and kind, and was my biggest advocate! She was also amazing at helping me to prepare for the interview and gave great constructive feedback via mock interviews. Regardless of where you are in the application process, Emma is an expert and is skilled at understanding you and your motivations, and helps you to present the best version of yourself! She was an absolute pleasure to work with, and I can’t thank her enough!
Michel was instrumental in building my profile. She was amazingly thoughtful and patient in understanding my background and working with me to put together the best application possible. I was dependent on her throughout and she was always reliable and thorough, providing incredible ideas and feedback from beginning to end. She even made me realize that I had a stronger application than I originally realized; her motivation enabled me to apply to my dream school and gain admission (M7)! I cannot imagine navigating this process without her and would highly recommend Michel and the entire Fortuna team to anyone looking for guidance or partnership in what otherwise is such an overwhelming process. I am confident that I got the best results possible for me and owe my results to Michel!
I had an immensely positive experience with Jessica! From the beginning, Jessica was warm and understanding. She helped me draw out my impact through several iterations of my resume. When we began brainstorming essays, Jessica pointed to specific things I wrote in the strategy questionnaire as well as information she gleaned from our conversations that she found resonant. Through the editing process, Jessica helped ensure that my voice and personality came through clearly, whilst one of the directors, Bill Kooser, provided very pragmatic feedback. She provided very actionably constructive comments when preparing for the video essays and interviews. When it came time for my Kellogg interview, she reached out to Willie Kotas, another amazing coach who is a Kellogg alum and has had extensive experience as an alumni interviewer. Willie’s feedback proved instrumental in helping me perform well on the interview!
Overall, Jessica consistently made herself available to answer any questions I had and was extremely great at managing my anxieties! If you want someone who cares about you as a person and who will help you communicate that to the adcoms, Jessica is the perfect consultant! Thank you, Jessica!
After speaking with several consultants and not feeling like I “clicked” with any of them, I knew after the first conversation with Karla that she was the consultant I wanted to work with. Karla was the most amazing consultant, cheerleader, and life coach all wrapped into one!! I cannot thank her enough for all of her help throughout the process — working with Karla was such an enjoyable experience because she truly cares about her clients and will make sure they feel they have submitted their very best applications, no matter how much time investment is needed. Karla was incredibly accessible throughout the process, and spent weekends, early weekday mornings, and late weekday nights providing the guidance I needed. She truly wants the best for her clients. She is incredibly knowledgeable on what each specific school is looking for in potential candidates, and is able to tailor her insights depending on the school. I cannot recommend her enough! She made the MBA application process fun and enjoyable, and I am so grateful to have worked with her!
Karla is always enthusiastic and ready to help, bringing a ton of insight from her time in admissions. Offered very personalized tips and helped with both the self-reflection process and detailed editing process. Extremely helpful with interview prepping as well as drawing from her experience and doing mock interviews. Highly recommended if you are interested in HBS or other top programs.
Fortuna was excellent in supporting me to apply to MBA programs. One of the best things about Fortuna is how their consultants work collectively to support each applicant (utilizing each of their consultants’ strengths). I worked mainly with Karla throughout the application process and had a mock interview (and feedback session) with Heidi prior to my Stanford GSB interview. The mock interview with Heidi was extremely useful, particularly because her feedback was direct, specific and actionable. This enabled me to act on her feedback ahead of the actual interview. I believe this was critical in my success. Thank you.
Karla is an exceptional consultant to work with. Karla goes way beyond what is expected of an admissions consultant – her infectious personality and commitment to getting to know me put me at ease to be comfortable and vulnerable in my discussions with her, enabling a deep level of introspection throughout the essay writing process which I believe brought authenticity to my application. Karla worked tirelessly to support me and nothing was too much trouble. Any aspiring MBA student would be lucky to work with Karla. I’ll always be grateful to Karla and recommend her wholeheartedly. Reach out to her – you might be so lucky to work with her too!
I reached out to Fortuna when I received a Wharton interview, as the primary consultant I was working with unfortunately did not offer TBD interview prep. Wharton was my top choice, and I wanted to make sure I was as prepared as possible! I found myself wishing that I had worked with Brittany from the start. She was immediately responsive, helped me work through the prep efficiently/effectively, and gave me detailed, honest one on one feedback/advice after watching my mock. I went into my interview feeling extremely prepared and confident, and I am really grateful for the help I received! I was accepted to Wharton and will be attending next fall, thanks to Brittany.
Karla is FANTASTIC.
I was really worried about the business school environment with COVID increasing the number of applicants. I engaged Karla via Fortuna, and she somehow made time to support me on my application to Wharton— which I not only got an interview for but also an offer and scholarship support!!
Karla is brilliant, knows the ins and outs of b-school admissions, and is extremely skilled at eliciting your best stories to make you shine as a candidate on paper AND in the interview. (She’s also a complete sweetheart.)
If you’re serious about getting into an M7 school in this increasingly competitive environment, go for Karla’s hands down.
Also, if you’re considering applying internationally, her work at INSEAD is a wealth of knowledge to leverage when looking at European schools.
Overall, highly recommend!!
I have had an absolutely amazing experience working with Brittany and can’t recommend her highly enough! Her feedback and coaching helped me land two acceptance offers (MIT Sloan & LBS) with a generous scholarship at one. She was superb at helping me craft and communicate my story and goals, and her feedback on my essays really took them to the next level. Given her experience, she also had incredible insight into what each school was looking for. With her help and guidance, I was able to submit the absolute best MBA applications I could.
I had a full package with Heidi and she has been instrumental in my MBA application process. Through conversations, she was able to pick up the highlights of my experience that I wasn’t aware of. She’s very responsive and patient, we have worked on so many iterations of the essays and I am very glad it worked out in the end. She could always tell my story in a better way through her reviews. The Fortuna team has been also very helpful to my application. Heidi asked her colleague Rachel to help me with an additional mock interview after Heidi has done several mocks with me. Their feedback helped me better prepare for the interview, something that wasn’t a strength of mine.
I worked with Emma to apply to an early careers program at one of the top universities worldwide.Emma guided me and helped make the application process easy and simple. Without her I know that I would have been lost and confused. I loved working with her and her help has been instrumental to my acceptance at my dream school. I cannot thank her enough and really recommend her to anyone that is thinking of applying to a masters program. I convinced all my friends and family to apply through her.
I recommend her because she is very thorough and has a lot of knowledge on what the universities are looking for. She has a lot of experience and that experience is invaluable to anyone applying to a top university. She has helped me edit my Essays and CVs while not taking away my voice. She helped me enhance my application and for that I am very grateful. I also worked with her on interview prep and our mock trial was exactly like my interview. Her comments and suggestions made my interview go smoothly and helped me make a good impression.
Melissa and the Fortuna Team were instrumental in helping me achieve acceptance to my dream MBA program, CBS. Melissa provided fantastic support throughout the application process, helping with identifying the key themes I wanted to highlight across the application, starting with crafting my story through the essays, resume support and tailoring, and excellent guidance that was really beneficial to navigating the sometimes opaque MBA admissions process. I would highly recommend Melissa and team to any prospective MBA applicant.
When I started my MBA application journey, I wasn’t even considering to apply to the schools I ended up applying to, as I didn’t think I had a shot. However, when I met with Karen for the free 30 min consultation, she gave me so much confidence that I decided to include multiple M7 schools in my list. I spoke with other firms for free consultations and right away it was clear to me that Karen was the right choice. For the next 7 months I’ve been working with her, Karen has been nothing but incredible. She is always available, always knows what to say and how to answer your questions, is a huge cheerleader and most importantly, and my favorite thing about working with Karen, she is very genuine about how much she believes in you. I didn’t have a stellar GMAT and didn’t have a super high undergrad GPA, but Karen knew that with my great professional background, extracurriculars and lined up recommenders, I had a good chance of getting into an M7 school. She really helped me find the best way to tell my story, she helped me be strategic about connecting with the schools, she was a sounding board every time I got nervous about something or thought I should change my plans. I honestly don’t think I could have have done this entire process without Karen and I certainly don’t know if I’d be able to say that, of the 3 schools I have applied to so far, I have already been accepted into 2 (one of them being an M7 school)!
I would recommend Karen, hands down, to anyone looking for guidance, support and encouragement throughout the MBA application process. Working with her truly made the stressful process much more bearable.
Bill helped me prepare everything for my applications. From Strategy, School Selection, Essays, Interview Prep… I had an amazing experience with him. All of our meetings were right to the point and he provided decades of experience to all of his suggestions and feedback. His leadership roles at Booth give him an unparalleled perspective to help students succeed and gain admission to their dream schools. Putting his competence aside, Bill also replied promptly to all of my questions/essay drafts and had an excellent professional demeanor during our interactions. I would recommend Bill to any candidate that is serious about breaking into the M7 schools and is not afraid to hear and do what is needed to succeed.
I met Karla towards the end of my application process but felt we connected from our first conversation. Despite being close to deadlines and juggling numerous other applicants, Karla made time to review multiple drafts of my application and generously extended an offer of interview prep if I got to that point (she ultimately helped me prep for HSW interviews). Karla was a huge help in identifying my blind spots (if you are someone who struggles to brag about yourself, Karla is your person — she will help you do it in a way that still feels genuine and true to yourself). Her unique insight into interviewer profiles / their likes/dislikes is also very helpful. I am so grateful to Karla for her support through this massive endeavor. Thank you.
Heidi prepped me on a day’s notice (and around-the-world time zones) and did a great mock interview with me for GSB. I hadn’t worked with a consultant until the very end of my application process, so our conversation primarily centered around honing the pieces of my story I wanted to tell. Her knowledge of the GSB’s alumni interview process was invaluable, as she helped prepare me for multiple different types of interviewing styles.
Melissa is, without a doubt, a rockstar of the admissions consultants out there, and I have nothing but excellent words to say about my experience working with her. In only a week, Melissa turned my CV and Essays upside down. She was extremely focused and committed to polishing every detail of my application in such a short time. She always believed in the potential of my candidacy from the very beginning and was always supportive. Even after our official guidance ended, she stuck by my side, guiding me and never letting me go until she knew I got in my dream school. And even at that moment, she was there to celebrate the conquer with side me. I reflected on my strengths and weaknesses in a way that I’ve never done before! Melissa’s commitment, devotion, and care throughout the whole process were truly unique. Feeling the support of a person who is 8 hours away from me, always available to answer my e-mails, is something I will never forget. Working with Melissa and Fortuna was the best decision that I made and was a key to turning my dream school into a reality. Thank you, Melissa!
Karla was the comforting tab in the back throughout my -stressful- interview stage of the application process. She guided me through multiple sessions and was kind enough to provide extra time as well.
Her consultation sessions were so fruitful, empowering, relaxed and greatly beneficial, especially given her insider knowledge and experience.
Thank you Karla for pointing out my strengths and help me present myself from that angle, to eventually receive my admission letter from HBS!!
I had the pleasure of working with Heidi as I was applying to both GSB and HBS, and I can’t say enough great things about her support in my journey.
From the beginning, Heidi helped me to dig deep and distill the narrative authentic to me and my experiences. She offered invaluable advice as I struggled with different combinations of stories and iterations of my essays. She was extremely responsive throughout the entire process and frequently asked thoughtful, probing questions that pushed me to make my application better. Her attention to detail and dedication was reflected in the 20+ drafts we iterated on as well as her support on the broader application (optional essays, extracurricular details, etc.).
She kept me on top of the deadlines and had valuable insight into the differences between what HBS and GSB were looking for. When it came time for interviews, my mock interview with Heidi prepared me to expect the real thing. Thanks to her support, I was accepted to both schools.
Heidi, it was a pleasure to work with you, and I’m grateful for all your help!
I had spoken to dozens of business school coaches before going with Karla, and I was really excited to work with her because she stood out to me for a few reasons. 1) She is incredibly knowledgeable about the entire application process, what different schools look for, and how to best position yourself both quantitatively and qualitatively. Her background as a prior adcom is really unique and advantageous here. 2) She really cares about her clients and goes above and beyond her stated responsibilities. She’s pulled late nights / early mornings to accommodate client schedules because she genuinely cares. 3) Her bubbly personality is contagious and you will love talking to her! 4) She was the only coach I spoke to who directed me to previous clients for references. Needless to say, all of her references were glowing! I think this really speaks to her dedication to clients and how she always does what’s best for them.
In summary, I highly recommend working with Karla. I don’t think I would have been able to do this without her!
Rachel is a WONDERFUL coach. From the start, she invested a ton of time to get to know who I am by listening attentively and taking detailed notes. This came especially handy when we brainstormed which stories to use for each of my essays as she was able to bring up anecdotes that I even have forgotten. Rachel also kept an incredible can-do attitude throughout our entire engagement, reading and providing helpful comments for EVERY SINGLE DRAFT of my 26 versions for my main essay. Her publishing background was especially helpful in cutting down words and allowing my essays to flow better. As I hit the submit button on all of my applications, I KNEW that I had put my best foot forward and I had no regrets.
But the most important thing Rachel has given me is clarity on my career. Thanks to Rachel’s guidance, I actually made a job switch during the application process because I knew that this would bring me closer to my long-term goals. Without the close relationship I’d built with Rachel, I don’t think I would have had the courage to realize that my current job was no longer the best fit for me.
I am really excited to be able to keep Rachel updated on my future endeavors – not just business school, but all the highlights in my career. I am excited to share my future successes with Rachel and I’m so thankful to have had her outstanding mentorship.
THANK YOU RACHEL!
I am a recent admit to LBS and could not have achieved that without Emma’s help. She really is one of the best in the business and was top notch in every aspect in my dealings with her. In particular, Emma is extremely responsive (eg, when reviewing drafts of applications under tight timelines), has second-to-none knowledge of LBS and the key people there (on account of her background as a former admissions officer) and really goes the extra mile to help you perfect everything in your application. I also did interview prep with Emma a few days beforehand which was invaluable in helping me be less nervous on the day and identify points where I could improve. Emma is also just very down to earth and made what was a stressful application process much more simple and fun – I always felt like I had a huge advantage with her in my corner. I am delighted that I went with Emma and I really can’t recommend her enough – particularly if you are applying to LBS.
Nonie was an excellent coach for me. I would not have succeeded with my admissions essays without her careful attention to detail and well thought out nature. She helped me truly understand what the questions were trying to reveal and how best to showcase my story. I highly recommend her services. You won’t be disappointed!
