I worked with Sherry on several applications and I couldn’t have asked for a better consultant! She helped with the process from start to finish – from thinking about school selection to resume refresh to essay writing to interview prep. Sherry was always reassuring and very responsive, especially at crunch time. She would be a major asset to anyone applying to business school and I can’t recommend her enough!
I had the great opportunity to worth Deanna during my application process for UCLA Anderson. The application process for the class of 2026 was a unique experience since this was the first time that UCLA was allowing for the Executive Assessment (EA) score or a test waiver in consideration for its next FT MBA class. I opted to submit my application with an EA score. Upfront, Deanna told me that we will be in uncharted territory since there are no previous data points with respect to applicants to UCLA who submit an EA score for the FT MBA program. Despite that, we powered on. During my time with Deanna, we worked closely to make sure that my essays, resume, and application were in perfect shape to help me standout. Most notably, I was truly appreciative of Deanna’s responsiveness over emails for all the various questions I had during the application process. Overall, Deanna was a major contributor to my successful admission to UCLA Anderson and I recommend her to anyone who is looking to be a part of the Anderson community!
I want to share my experience working with SBC and their exceptional consulting service. From the beginning, they matched me with a consultant, Alex, who was perfectly suited to my needs for MBA application guidance. Alex’s deep knowledge and expertise significantly enhanced my application process. His ability to tailor essays for various universities was nothing short of miraculous, transforming my initial drafts into compelling narratives that truly stood out. Under his guidance, I crafted outstanding essays. Beyond being a professional expert, Alex was a remarkable person to work with. His approachable and supportive manner made a typically stressful period much more manageable. He was involved in every step of the process, from refining essays to preparing for interviews and even negotiating offers. With Alex’s guidance, I achieved what I once thought impossible which was admission to UCLA Anderson with a 50% scholarship. Moreover, I independently applied the lessons and experiences I learned from him to my application for UNC Kenan-Flagler, where I have also secured a full scholarship which was unbelievable!!!!! Actually, working with Alex was not just beneficial, it was one of the best investments I have ever made. Alex is not only a skilled consultant from whom you can learn a lot but also a person worthy of a lasting friendship. I highly recommend Alex to anyone looking for top-notch MBA application guidance.
Cathy was very helpful in guiding me through my INSEAD application. She was not only encouraging throughout the process but provided very clear and honest feedback ranging from big picture comments to small details.
The attention to detail was simply unmatched. Alex was able to extract value out of nearly every individual sentence for every essay. He was critical not only in helping to tell my own story, but also in meticulously crafting it for each individual school, along with incredible prep for each interview. Words can’t possibly do justice to how helpful Alex was for the admissions process.
I am an older candidate with a previous career as a physician and startup founder, and having Alex’s guidance was the single most important part of my MBA process. Despite how many applications I’ve done before (college, medical school, residency, grant writing, etc.), Alex brought an entirely new perspective and a mastery of personal storytelling that I had never encountered.
In addition to his expertise, he was also incredibly fast in turning over comments for essays, allowing us to rapidly go through numerous iterations.
Simply put, I can’t possibly recommend Alex highly enough, and you’d be foolish to leave something as important as MBA admissions in the hands of anyone else!
My first application cycle I did not get any acceptances. I will be attending HBS this fall and it would not be possible without Meg. She encouraged me to be ambitious with my school choices and provided invaluable insight on the MBA application process. She was very generous and fair with her time and was my teammate through the whole process from developing an initial school list through interview season.
Meg’s feedback on my application was perfect. She cuts right through and challenges weaknesses in your application without compromising your voice and story. My MBA applications were authentically me but incredibly well thought out and polished thanks to the feedback I got from Meg.
Meg was fantastic. She helped me shape a nuanced and compelling story, and articulate the fundamental “why” behind my application in a way that an admissions officer could understand. She was also a great blend of supportive while holding me accountable to deadlines. I ended up getting into Wharton and Booth with a scholarship. Great experience all around.
I used interview package for my Stanford MSx program application. Stacy Blackman matched me with Alex. I had a mock interview with Alex and also sent him a recorded interview for comments. For the mock interview, Alex wrote down my responses with comments, which is really helpful for me to review my responses and polish them later. He was very encouraging and gave me a lot of useful advice which made my practice experience much more enjoyable. Alex was also responsive in replying my emails with questions on how to answer certain interview questions. He helped me build my confidence which I think played a critical role in nailing my interview later.
I was a nontraditional (i.e., 34 years old, never worked for MBB/Big 4/IB/Big Tech, low-ish GRE Q score) applicant who applied to Ross in Round 3 (and also to Booth and Kellogg Weekend). Laura’s insights into the Ross admissions process were invaluable. I would recommend her to any B-school applicant.
My experience working with Laura Nelson during my application process for Business School’s 2024 intake cycle was nothing short of exceptional. I am grateful for her timely responses and nuanced feedback. Her guidance played a pivotal role in helping me develop a cohesive and succinct narrative for my application, ensuring that my strengths and aspirations were effectively communicated.
Thanks to Laura’s help, I was accepted into one of my dream schools, and I am thrilled to announce that I’ll be starting this fall. I highly recommend working with her!
Dawn helped me get into my dream program (Stanford GSB MBA and Harvard Kennedy School MPA dual degree). She played a crucial role in my application from beginning till end. I’ve spoken with multiple consultants, but Dawn was by far the best. I tell all my friends that are interested in applying to MBAs to speak to her as soon as they can because she gets booked out very early in the year. Dawn was by far the most strategic consultant I spoke with. As an example, I delayed my application to Round 2 following her advice to secure a promotion before my application, and this played an important role in securing my offers. She also set the highest standards compared to other consultants. She will challenge and push you, and by the end of it you will have achieved more than you could think of! She is personal, kind, highly ethical, and she truly values you as a person. Dawn also has a great overview on the application from a holistic perspective but goes into the details of your entire history as a human being. In the end, she helps you achieve your dreams. And this experience will go beyond a typical admissions consulting experience. She will help you find your path! It’s an absolute no-brainer to work with Dawn and I couldn’t be more grateful.
I was referred to Stacy Blackman by my mentor at work. In my initial consultation, I was told that 5 of out 6 programs I was interested in would be a stretch for me. I signed up for the 2-school package for HBS and Stanford GSB and selected Alex Liff as my consultant. Having been offered admissions to 4 out of the 6 programs, including HBS, I am very satisfied with the results.
The first and most valuable help that Alex provided was to read through my 21-page 360 assessment and work with me to identify and strategize on how to tell my story. Having come from a non-traditional background and not had the strongest academic credentials, I believe this proved to be critical to giving the admissions committees a glimpse into who I am.
I struggled a bit with the actual personal statement composition, especially with spelling out my motivation for the MBA. Alex tried hard to focus me on expressing my short-term and long-term goals. This ended up being difficult for me, and Alex was incredibly patient throughout the process.
What proved pivotal for me was the flight test. I received holistic feedback about my package and also some direction about leaning into my goals. Meg, a former Booth admissions officer, was also enthusiastic about some of my short answers. With this affirmation, I was able to reuse the themes and complete all 6 applications.
I applied in round 1, but was waitlisted by HBS. This meant another round of updates as well as some financial aid correspondence that Alex was patient to review and provide timely feedback. Having had the initial assessment of most of the schools being a reach, I would have appreciated more time with Alex and perhaps a little more guidance pulling the package together. Once the application season starts, it is easy for anxiety to set in. Alex was definitely the professional to see me through. The results speak for themselves, and I am thrilled with the outcome.
Jess is wonderful She was personable and a calming, level headed resource for the entire application process. She was helpful in crafting the right short term and long term goals for me that aligned with my schools and my own personal background. She has immense knowledge about all the programs and was instrumental in my decision making for schools to apply to and eventually enroll! She gave honest feedback to me to aid in making my applications competitive. Jess was a great partner helping me work on my applications and I am so glad I got to work with her.
Cathy is fantastic. She helped me earn admission to Cambridge and Oxford. She is thoughtful, responsive, kind, and hardworking. I would highly recommend her to any prospective MBA applicant.
Thank you, Cathy!
Meg was fantastic! She really helped shepherd me through the MBA process and kept me on track and accountable as I navigated the demands of application writing while working. Wouldn’t of been able to do it without her! Got into Darden and Booth – her experiences and insight as a former Booth adcom were invaluable. She helped me leverage my strengths while addressing weaknesses. The Vault was a great resource from SBC and the flight test helped with fine tuning near the end.
Beth was incredibly thoughtful and helped me through every step of the application process from day one. While I knew that I would need help structuring and planning my essays in particular, I did not fully appreciate the time and effort that would be required on the other components of the applications, such as the career summaries, resume, etc. Beth helped guide me through each, establishing priorities, strategies, and guidelines that unquestionably alleviated my stress and brought each of my application materials to the highest caliber they could be. Thanks to her, I received admission to my top choice program (a dual degree program at Kellogg). Cannot recommend her highly enough!
Alex was a very helpful consultant. I received an admit at one of my top choice schools (Duke), which might not have happened without his help. He is knowledgeable, responsive, and decisive. I believe he was most helpful to me in helping me craft my MBA story and determining which schools would be a good fit. Early on my MBA journey, I didn’t have a lot of answers. He helped point me in the right direction. Alex listened to my story and helped tie it into a compelling narrative that was ready for applications and interviews. He was also helpful in providing guidance to my recommenders and prepping me for interviews. He shared helpful feedback notes on some of my first few essays. His responsivness and proactive communication towards deadlines was greatly appreciated. It is a pricy service, but I believe it was worth it for me.
Alex was my primary partner in every step of the MBA admissions process and helped me secure MIT Sloan Fellows ’25 admit. Krithika from CareerLabs helped me identify MIT Sloan Fellows MBA program as a good fit for mid-career professionals seeking immersive MBA experience. My advice for MBA aspirants: If you can afford it, then hire consultants – definitely worth the investment.
From day one Alex was very patient and a calming influence throughout this nerve-racking admissions process. Alex’s guidance every step of the process was instrumental in my securing an MBA spot at my choice program. After an in-depth discussion, he developed the strategy for our approach. He helped me fine tune my essays and different aspects of my application. Alex’s technology experience was pivotal in effectively highlighting my achievements. The most significant benefit for me was the incredible interview prep – Alex conducted mock interview and then dissected each of my response with constructive criticism. His feedback helped me hone my ideas, to make the most of the half hour. It is no surprise that Alex has a 100% interview rate.
The fact that 20+ SBC candidates had each gotten into all 3 top MBA colleges the previous year boosted my confidence in SBC during this arduous process. At SBC in addition to Alex, a team of consultants helped me. This team-based influence and support started with Sarah my initial matchmaker at SBC. With Alex’s guidance, we packaged the application and went through a “flight test”- where a former MBA admissions officer evaluated my application and provided valuable feedback. I also found a lot of insight in their wiki database and timely email advice through their newsletters. I got some private GMAT tutoring from Anthony- their in house tutor as well.
The colleges look at what you have done as an indication of future contribution. The consultant is not a magic ride to admissions. You still have to get the GMAT/GRE score, experience and build a spectacular resume with tons of impact. You will be writing all the essays and the applications. But the consultant can help package your application and present a compelling narrative of your contribution and impact.
I worked with Cathy when preparing applications for two European business schools, and she massively exceeded all expectations. With Cathy by my side, I submitted the best applications possible, and enjoyed the experience along the way because of her strong efforts & lovely personality.
Cathy took the time to get to know me as a person and to understand my motivations for business school before we started working together; I was very impressed by her inquisitiveness to truly understand what makes me unique. I felt as though Cathy had invested in me as a candidate and as a person, which allowed us to communicate efficiently and for her to deliver more tailored advice.
Cathy went above and beyond when providing guidance and feedback on each set of drafts. Each response I received from Cathy was very timely, well thought out, and detailed. In addition to providing specific notes on my essays, Cathy would also always go the extra mile to provide further tips, notes, and advice for the essays & my broader application. Cathy was also very transparent about her (and the adcom’s) review process, which was instrumental for me to understand & incorporate her suggestions. In addition, Cathy’s feedback delivery style is the perfect balance of support, affirmation, and constructive criticism. I truly felt empowered by working with her.
Bottom line, Cathy was absolutely instrumental in my application process. I greatly enjoyed working with Cathy, and would highly recommend working with her to anyone undergoing the MBA application journey.
Amy coached me to prep for Wharton Executive MBA(WEMBA) round and I got admitted to WEMBA, testament to how awesome Amy is. As she was a prior admission officer in WEMBA, she exactly told me how the interview happens, what to expect, what to highlight, what to skip. Advise for very specific and concrete. Talking to her, I also got confidence that I can perform well and have a decent chance to get an admit. I did a 2 hours, broken down – 1 hour of information and answering questions and 2nd hour of mock interview.
Lastly, it does feel expensive at the start, but it is worth very dollar and it is worth the investment in the long-run, also it helps one save valuable time which is worth a lot in long-run. I highly recommend her.
Erin went above and beyond during the entire application process. She helped me put myself on paper in the most compelling fashion, often challenging me on the meaning of each word and sentence, and was instrumental in delivering the story that I wanted to tell. It was clear from the beginning that she had ample experience in guiding applicants from the perspective of adcoms. Iterative feedback came as quickly as I sent out updates to essays and she imbued a sense of criticality and urgency throughout the whole process.
I truly felt that she was in my corner rooting for me, and with her help, I was accepted to MIT Sloan with major scholarship!
I knew SBC was the real deal starting with my very first call with Esther. She was friendly, pragmatic, and efficient, and I’m so thankful that she paired me with Jennifer. Jennifer provided a perfect balance of empathy and personal touch throughout my application process, coupled with objective, detailed, thoughtful, and constructive feedback. She indulged my detail-oriented nature as I mapped out my application plan while also helping me keep the big picture in mind, and was responsive to every question I had along the way. I applied to HSW and was ultimately accepted to all three, and I am confident that Jennifer’s guidance was instrumental in my acceptances. Her perspective as a former GSB admissions officer was extremely helpful in my preparation not just for the essays but for the interview as well, and it was very comforting to know she was supporting me all the way to the finish line. I would strongly recommend that any prospective applicants work with Jennifer, and with SBC.
I worked with Jennifer this past summer after being referred by a friend (who previously worked with Jennifer and had great success). I could not have asked for a better person to work with than Jennifer. She was extremely knowledgeable about the application process for every school I applied to (GSB, HBS, Wharton, CBS, etc.) and was an expert in helping me navigate the essay and short answer portions of each application.
What set Jennifer apart for me was that she took the time to get to know me and my background, personal and professional experiences, goals, and dreams, and then took this information to help me craft the best set of applications/essays that I could. She was very responsive and provided thorough and detailed feedback to my questions and essay drafts.
Above everything else, I really appreciated Jennifer’s structured approach to this process. She has a tried-and-true method for approaching essays and short answer prompts that makes the essay writing process much more structured than it otherwise can end up being. With her structured approach I never felt uneasy or anxious that I wasn’t making enough progress with my applications.
Finally, Jennifer was terrific in helping me prep for interviews. I honestly could not imagine having to go through the application process without Jennifer. If I could go back the only thing I would change is that I would have started working with her sooner than I did! Jennifer is simply the best person you can work with to help you through a very stressful MBA application process. I would recommend her without hesitation!
Jennifer demystified the opaque MBA admissions process and without her, I would not have gotten into HBS! Jennifer genuinely spends the time to get to know her clients and provides personalized advice on how to best present ourselves in the application. Jennifer’s process was unique in that it helped me craft my own narrative by reflecting on my life experiences and identifying what makes me tick, which gave me immense clarity on my professional goals. Had I not gotten into HBS, I would have found that process alone well worth the price of the program.
I am extremely grateful to have found and navigated my application process with Caryn and the Stacy Blackman team.
From my very first intro call with Esther who identified Caryn as a potential fit to my Flight Test (complete application review from another consultant), the entire team was immensely helpful.
The support I received made my entire process smoother and less stressful and resulted in great outcomes. Ultimately, I am thrilled to be attending my top choice M7 school with a full scholarship.
Caryn’s support during the entire process from defining my goals to iterating on essays and prepping me for interviews was invaluable. She was incredibly hands on and responsive and was able to extract the most compelling and cohesive application from me. One of her many strengths is being equally good at holding on to the higher level story as well as being able to provide incredibly detailed feedback on literally every word of the application.
She pushed me to dig deeper at each stage of the process and provided very helpful context on how the Adcom decision making process works based on her personal experience and the broader Stacy Blackman network. Not only did this make my application stronger, but I also will be starting school this fall with a more defined understanding of what I want to do, why I want to do it, and what resources I want to take advantage of when there.
The investment I made in choosing Stacy Blackman both saved my sanity during this time and also paid for itself many times over.
Working with Keauna was a dream come true. She thoroughly reviewed all my essays and resume and was diligent about making sure every word was correct. I recommend her fully without any hesitation and encourage everyone looking to get into a top 5 MBA program to use Keauna. Could not recommend her more.
Anthony was fantastic and very prompt in his responses. He was thorough and worked diligently on a tight timeline to give me advice which ultimately helped me get into Wharton. He was also kind and supportive while giving frank advice. I would highly recommend working with Anthony.
I was paired with Mark via Stacey Blackman Consulting via Bill ( a personable and informed gentleman) who introduced me to Mark. Mark’s consultancy transcends the ordinary, especially for candidates from the Middle East seeking admission into top UK MBA programs. His profound familiarity with the cultural nuances and professional landscapes of the Middle East set him apart as an invaluable guide in my MBA journey. Mark’s awareness of these cultural distinctions and his accommodating approach made a significant difference, providing personalized strategies that aligned with my background and aspirations. Beyond his expertise in admissions and his strategic acumen, Mark’s ability to understand and respect cultural perspectives enriches his consultancy. He leverages this understanding to tailor applications that not only stand out but also authentically represent the candidate’s heritage and vision. For Middle Eastern candidates aiming for UK MBA programs, Mark is the best. He offers more than just admissions guidance, he provides a bespoke consultancy that appreciates and incorporates cultural insights into a winning strategy. He is a friend, guide and overall pleasure of a person to deal with. I would recommend anybody looking for counselor to aid them in UK MBA admissions to hire Mark.
Working with Dione through the MBA admissions process exceeded all of my expectations. When deciding on an MBA consultancy, I knew that it was important to find someone who could provide real-life admissions experience and a personalized touch, as well as be accessible when I needed them most. Dione was all of these things and more. She truly took the time to understand how my professional experiences fit into the context of who I am as a person to help craft a strong “why MBA?” narrative and express what I could bring to a top program. As someone coming from Equity Research – a less common or well-known track within finance – I was worried about getting overlooked during the admissions process. However, Dione helped me flesh out what made me unique as a candidate and was also helpful in stress-testing my post-MBA goals. I also felt that the “flight test” process was differentiated – it not only provided valuable feedback but also gave me confidence that I was submitting the best possible application.
I applied to Harvard, Stanford, Wharton, and Sloan. With Dione’s help, I was admitted to all four schools and will be attending the GSB. Given Dione’s experience on the Minority Admissions Advisory Committee for Stanford GSB and ties to the school as an alum, she was particularly helpful with the notoriously most difficult Stanford essay: “What matters most to you, and why?” I would highly recommend Dione to anyone looking for an MBA consultant.
Meg was my primary partner through my application process. From the beginning, she was enthusiastic and came in with a game plan. She very quickly identified the strengths in my story and helped me harness them through each application and iteration of essays. She also had a very clear understanding of the goals for each individual essay, making sure I molded my story accordingly. Rather than critiquing or trying to change things about my profile, Meg focused on the assets that made me unique. She responded swiftly to any questions I had, and was a true champion of my success at every milestone, all the way to my acceptances at Fuqua and Kellogg! The rest of the SBC team was very supportive, between Sarah, who matched me with Meg after learning about my background and goals, and Lisa (another former admissions officer), who conducted my flight test and provided a great birds-eye view of my candidacy before I hit submit. I chose SBC based on extensive online research, and this choice was instrumental in my success in this tedious process. There was so much I would not have known without Meg and the rest of the SBC team. Thank you for everything!!!
Ashley did a fantastic job guiding me through the entire process. I reached out to her with less than 8 weeks left until applications and she was instrumental in helping me craft my essays in a particularly competitive round. When it came to other aspects of the interview like interviews, she was always able to point me in the right direction with resources. I’m thrilled with my results – I got into Wharton and NYU Stern with very generous fellowships, and into Columbia Business School as well!!
I had the pleasure of working with Caryn as my MBA consultant, and I can confidently say that her guidance was instrumental in my successful applications. Here’s why Caryn truly stands out:
1. Proven Results: With Caryn’s expert assistance, I applied to three MBA programs and received offers from Harvard Business School (HBS) and the Wharton/Lauder MBA/Master’s in International Studies program. Even at the GSB, where I was waitlisted, her strategic approach undoubtedly enhanced my candidacy.
2. Efficiency: Caryn’s responsiveness is unparalleled. Despite her busy schedule, she consistently provided thorough feedback on my materials, usually within one business day, ensuring that we stayed on track with our application timeline.
3. Intuitive Insight: Caryn’s extensive experience in MBA admissions and consulting shines through in her insightful feedback. She possesses a remarkable instinct for identifying what works and what doesn’t, a skill honed over many years of working in the field.
4. Diverse Background: What sets Caryn apart is her diverse background, which includes not only MBA admissions but also a solid business foundation. This unique blend enables her to craft compelling narratives tailored to each applicant, even for non-traditional candidates.
In summary, Caryn is more than just a consultant; she is a strategic partner dedicated to helping her clients realize their MBA aspirations. I am immensely grateful for her expertise and unwavering support throughout the application process.
I worked with Caryn using an all-in package on 4 schools. I immediately knew Caryn was a rockstar from our first meeting when she created a schedule with detailed goals and deadlines for each step of the application process.
Caryn spent a ton of time early on to get to know my story and how my experiences could be used in my business school applications. We highlighted strengths that we wanted to highlight and be constructive about any areas of improvement. Caryn was also instrumental in navigating the complexities of letters of recommendation.
During the admission essay process, Caryn provided productive feedback to enhance each draft which inspired confidence as I was preparing the documents. Caryn also prepared me super well for the interviews I had. We did a mock interview together which helped me sharpen the stories I wanted to highlight during interviews and she shared awesome tips for success during the interviews.
Without Caryn applying to business school would have been a near impossible task and I am so glad I had the opportunity to work with one of the best admission consultants out there. In the end, I was admitted to Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia, which was my top choice.
Sherry proved to be an invaluable asset in assisting me with my MBA applications and interview preparation. I deeply valued her expertise in navigating the MBA process, as she played a pivotal role in shaping my narrative and guiding me in crafting compelling essays for my applications. During the interview phase, Sherry exceeded my expectations by providing a thorough mock interview and insightful guidance for each question I tackled. Thanks to her exceptional support and mentorship, I successfully gained acceptance into multiple MBA programs with scholarship offers. Sherry’s contributions were instrumental in my achievement, and I am immensely grateful for her guidance throughout the process.
Emma was a genuine pillar of support for me through my application process and eventual acceptance to an M7 school. She was fantastic at hearing me out, going through my essays and self-evaluation drafts, and zooming in on my strengths that aligned well with my target school. She was also super helpful in preparing for the interview. At the end of the day, she is just an authentic and warm person to work with!
P.S. This review is not AI-generated. Just go work with Emma and Stacy Blackman, the results outweigh the cost.
Deanna was incredibly helpful in helping me craft my narrative, refine my essays, and prepare for my interviews. Most importantly, she was very candid throughout the process and did not sugar coat weak spots in my application, but she always offered solutions for each of my weak spots. With her help, I got admitted at a top 20 MBA with a scholarship. In other words, I got an ~8x return on my investment in her consulting services. Incredible.
Deedee helped me with the Sloan pre-interview questions and coached me for the Sloan interview. She is such an MIT expert and a professional at what she does that she brilliantly architectured me putting my best foot forward in both scenarios. She left me feeling so confident that I rocked the interview and eventually got in. Hire her, you will not regret it!
When first applying to McCombs, I was wondering if a Consultant would be worth the money. I ended up using Laura and I believe it was the reason I was admitted to business school. Laura worked very efficiently and totally enhanced my Cover Letter and Resume in only 2 hours of review. I highly recommend Laura based on her knowledge of admission requirements and efficient work ethic.
I had a tight round 1 deadline for a number of schools. Alex was available round the clock to help. I don’t think I would have made the essays I did without him that helped me receive admission into a number of m7 programs. He pushed me to produce essays I wouldn’t have been able to produce on my own-essays well outside my comfort zone. As importantly, he was always available if I had a nagging concern in relation to any aspect of my application and would go out of his way to ensure alleviate my concern. Thanks again for everything Alex!
I was paired with Mark via Stacey Blackman Consulting given his expertise with applying to European MBA programs. As a veteran, I had difficulty translating my skills and experience in a way that would be appealing to admissions committees. Mark made the process exponentially easier and allowed me to understand how to sell myself to different programs.
I was recommended for SBC by a friend who had previously used them and was accepted into LBS. I was contacted by very professional and eager people from SBC who were dedicated to provide me with the best support they could offer on my application.
I was recommended to Stacy Blackman by a few friends/colleagues and it was the best decision I could’ve made in this process.
When I first signed up with Stacy Blackman, I was nervous. Fearing that an “MBA Consultant” might push me into a box, I stated from the beginning that I didn’t want to change myself for the adcom – I wanted to be 100% authentically ME! And from day one, Joey did not disappoint in that goal. From school selection, essays, interview and more – every aspect of my time with Joey was completely tailored to me and my story. He was an incredibly thoughtful and intentional coach, helping me highlight a unique and compelling story that was instrumental in being accepted to my top choice school.
Joey has a keen eye for detail, and was able to identify small improvements that had (in my opinion) HUGE impacts. As a fellow creative (Joey had previously worked as a TV writer), Joey met me where I was creatively and professionally. He advised on some creative risks in my essay and gave me feedback that I think truly helped my application standout.
I cannot recommend Joey enough! Especially to anyone LGBTQ+, or with a background in media / entertainment.
From start to finish, my experience working with Stacy Blackman and my consultant Beth was nothing short of fantastic. I embarked on this journey after speaking with eight different consultants from firms like mbaMission and Stratus, but SBC immediately stood out. From my introductory call with Bill to ultimately working closely with Beth for Round 1 admissions, I felt supported end-to-end.
Through my work with Beth, I was fortunate to be admitted to Kellogg, Tuck, Fuqua, and Darden, all with varying levels of scholarship, and I could not be more thrilled with my outcomes. I truly feel like Beth’s experience as a former Kellogg AdComm member was an incredible differentiator.
I knew going into my MBA admissions process, I wanted to work with someone who believed in me and my application. I instantly clicked with Beth’s warm demeanor, and I knew she would provide equal doses of encouragement and honesty at the right times. Through the highs and lows of the process, Beth was there every step of the way and was always able to be reached. I could not recommend working with her and the rest of the SBC team more for anyone going through MBA admissions!
Lisa and the entire SB team helped demystify the MBA application journey. I had no idea what to expect and they helped level set and create a game plan for success. I had an initial conversation with Bill who then recommended Lisa as my primary consultant. Lisa helped me think about career goals, what aspects of a school I want, and break down the application process. We created a schedule so I would get my applications in on time and was always there to help answer questions I had. Lisa helped with mock interviews, gave me thoughts on my applications, and most of all was incredibly supportive every step of the way.
After initial discussions with Lisa, I decided to apply to a broad range of schools and ended up getting admitted to CBS, UVA, UNC , UT McCombs, USC and UCLA. I even managed to walk away with a full ride and half ride to a few schools. I definitely could not have done this without Lisa and the entire SB teams’ support.
Worked with Alex on my full time MBA applications and was blown away with his professional, candid and thoughtful perspective. Alex is a gifted writer and will help you craft the perfect essays, recommendation templates and resume. Really glad to have met him and the entire SBC team. The application process is an undertaking and having someone like Alex on your team will keep you on track and ensure you get across the best version of yourself to adcom. Alex is the best it gets!
I utilized Caryn’s all-in support on two schools and supplemented this with multiple hourly sessions on other schools. Caryn helped me from the very start of the process of by helping to define my MBA story and recommending ways to bring my story to life. She provided tactical advice on my resumes, recommender packages, essays, etc. and helped me with a mock interview for Kellogg. I felt very prepared going into the admissions process because of her (also received additional help through mock interviews with Geri and Anthony for HBS and Wharton respectively). As a result of her support, I was able to receive admission into HBS, Wharton, Columbia, and Kellogg (also receiving full-tuition scholarships at Columbia and Kellogg). I would highly recommend her services!
As a European applicant, I was looking for an experienced consultant who could advise me throughout the admissions process. I initially got interested in Stacy Blackman Consulting by listening to their podcast B-Schooled, which I highly recommend. It holds a vast amount of valuable information and you can listen to it on all major podcast apps.
I then purchased an All-in package from Stacy Blackman Consulting once I was ready to apply and was matched with Ashley as my primary consultant. Ashley is a former HBS Admissions Officer and has extensive experience which she shares through actionable advice. Her support was extremely valuable in me gaining admission! She helped me think through my application, communicate my background, experiences, and goals in a clear and compelling manner, and prepare for the interview.
Beyond Ashley being a fantastic consultant, SBC also provides valuable team based support. I was supported by Esther during the initial matchmaking, who paid special attention to ensuring good fit between my application goals and my consultant’s background. I then also had a flight tester, Amy, who is a former Admissions Officer, and who reviewed the final draft of my application before I hit submit. This was a valuable “last test” of my application by someone who could look at it with fresh eyes as they had not been with me throughout the entire preparation process.
Overall, I highly recommend working with Ashley and SBC!
The MBA application process can be complex, but Dawn’s thoughtfulness, attention to detail, and experience proved invaluable. Dawn worked closely with me every step of the way – from creating a personal narrative to editing essays to preparing for interviews. She also stays very up-to-date with the latest admissions trends. With her help, I was admitted into several MBA programs, including HBS and Wharton. I highly recommend Dawn!
Mark was my advisor for 6 months as I prepared for business school applications. As an American applying to LBS he was instrumental in helping me navigate the application process and craft my story. Highly recommend!
I will be attending INSEAD next year thanks in no small part to Dawn’s help! Dawn took a truly holistic approach to developing and defining my story, which was essential to helping me stand out as an over-represented candidate. Dawn has highly detailed knowledge on all the programs I was considering, and she did a phenomenal job of helping emphasize different components of my background to tailor to what specific schools were looking for. Dawn has mastered the craft of business school applications with her unique approach, wealth of knowledge, critical thinking, and meticulous attention to detail, and I would recommend her to anyone looking to differentiate themselves from a sea of competitive applicants. Thank you, Dawn!
I got referred by someone who had a positive experience with SBC and worked with Beth as my primary consultant. From the beginning, Bill made the intro to SBC easy to understand and I spoke with a few consultants before deciding to work with Beth. As an extremely experienced former Admissions Officer, it was clear that Beth knows how to work with people with all sorts of backgrounds and how to bring out the best in applications. As an early careerist, I had concerns and challenges that Beth helped me navigate throughout the application process, and her organization and guidance went above and beyond. I’m happy to be accepting admissions to Booth and am so thankful for her insights, her responsiveness to my many, many questions, and for ultimately making the application process a lot less stressful than anticipated.
