Cosimo Leipold

It was an absolute joy to work with Cosimo during my process. This was my second year applying to business school and I used a different consulting firm last year. While I of course recognize there is some amount of confirmation bias, Cosimo went above and beyond in both time and personal attention relative to my consultant from last year. A few elements that stood out to me: 1. Personal attention. With each call I had with Cosimo I truly got the sense he genuinely cared about my application. He reached-out to other contacts to help me with my candidacy, brought in relevant outside knowledge, and even gave me his cell phone number for “emergencies” (not that I ever truly figured out what an emergency is in this context). I truly felt I had a partner in this process. 2. Time and flexibility. The consultant I used last year very strictly adhered to her company’s “48 hour turnaround policy.” Every item I submitted was returned almost 48 hours later exactly (even longer on weekends), and even the slightest edit or question meant another 48 hour response time. Cosimo edited in “real time” when needed. When there was an idea we wanted to discuss he would hop on the phone immediately. When there were only minor edits to be made, we would trade back and forth 3 – 4 versions between each other over email in real time. Formal guidelines never got in the way of ensuring a successful relationship. 3. Constant enthusiasm work. For one application, Cosimo and I had to write A) the “normal” application essays and questions, B) an interview essay, C) interview prep, and D) Waitlist essay. Cosimo was never deterred by the amount of content we had to generate. Each step of the process was approached with a renewed sense of vigor and excitement. Cosimo’s energy was a huge part of my continued motivation.

Let me start by saying, Cosimo is one of the best people I have met. He took so much time to help me through the process, with the patience of a saint. He only ever asked me to put in the work that is needed to get into school. I reached out very early in the process because of which we were prepared and able to sneak in a 5th school into my process. Cosimo gave me clear guidance and really helped by pulling out the right stories for the essays. Be warned no one will write your essay for you, this is your application but what Cosimo will do is probe with the right questions to help you understand your own capability. He has never said a discouraging word and will go out of his way to make sure you are on time with things. He is remarkable and truly makes me glad to have met him apart from the MBA process. If you are thrilled about school and willing to be a good partner Cosimo will be the perfect fit.
