Hi Mr. AI Startup Founder: There’s a lot to like about your profile, sir! I am sincerely hoping that your undergrad transcripts can shape a meaningful story around why you performed in a less-than-optimal way in college. Perhaps you improved as you matured or excelled in the business classes that interested you? Hopefully there is a real theme to pull out there… and some real key learnings to give AdCom the confidence that the same won’t happen as an MBA student. You’ve clearly proven your intelligence via your strong GMAT score and your achievements in a very technical industry that not many have the mental capacity to undertake just yet – bravo to you! Ad Com will also be very interested to hear what you learned from your failed start-up. Failure on it’s own is not a ding; if anything, it can be a candidate’s strength when he/she has undergone the proper self reflection to apply critical learnings to future endeavors. By nailing those two key things, I’d say your odds are better than most at GSB – go get ’em!
