I was a Presidential Scholar (full-ride – top 2%) at Rutgers University (state school). After graduation, I worked as a software engineer at Amazon. My work requires me to know how to build scalable AI services in Amazon Web services (cloud). I am a futurist and enjoy reading sci-fi novels. My interests include combatting bias within AI and building data visualizations to tell stories. I have taken online classes on machine learning on Coursera/Udemy. My primary interest is in the MIT LGO program or other dual-degree programs. I will also consider a few other top MBA programs. I am looking for more advice on how to buff up my application

I like that you’re a whiz at computer science, and are doing well at AWS (with promotion and raises). It’s also fantastic you’re a competitive tennis player. The Admissions Committee (AdCom) likes to see well-rounded candidates. That said, do consider retaking the GRE. Although your score is within range of the average at MIT LGO, it’s just a shade under. Given that your GPA is also a tad under the average at MIT LGO (3.7), I think having a stronger GRE score will help offset any potential concerns AdCom might have. Finally, the average work experience for the MIT LGO class is around 5 years. I …
