Post-MBA I am looking to transition into MBB consulting within the Public Sector or NFP stream to leverage my military and public sector knowledge combined with the skills learnt in the MBA.

Hi Mr. Aussie Millitary Man, This is Debbie, Senior Consultant at mbaMission. I’m impressed by your background serving and helping communities, as well as your expertise in logistics. These are areas that add diversity to business school classrooms. Candidates with strong logistics and operations experiences are typically in short supply in the applicant pool. I also like that you are doing well at work and leading client engagements. I think your post-MBA goal makes sense given your background. Be sure to connect the dots for the Admissions Committee. Minor point – I wonder how your Master of Commerce (Finance) degree fits into the picture. You may want to address that, however briefly, in your application. Overall, I think you have a unique profile and a …

Overall, I think you have a unique profile and a compelling background, and should have a good shot at Columbia (where the 2019 average rate of acceptance was around 14-16%).
Hi, it’s Jennifer Jackson from Stratus Admissions. You have excellent experience in the military, giving logistics and operations skills that many applicants don’t have,as well as solid leadership skills. You’ll stand out being Australian and your work building schools in your military role offers an interesting community element that ties well into your extracurriculars mentoring and helping at-risk youth. Be sure to explain why you want to go into consulting (SOOO many applicants do) and perhaps be open to firms other than MBB for your ST goal since there’s so much competition there. Your GPA is a bit of a weak point but you have a solid GMAT that should help overcome it as well as the other parts of your profile that are really …
