You have a really fascinating background as an engineer and a data scientist. Your international experience, starting with your undergraduate degree in Beirut, and then your three years on construction projects in the Middle East will be very much in your favor at INSEAD. So will your two additional years of experience in data analytics with startups in fintech & transportation. At INSEAD, however, faculty play a critical role in admissions. And they are unlikely to be all that impressed with a 2.9 GPA, even in as rigorous a field as mechnical engineering, or your 316 GRE. INSEAD does not publish GRE score data and only recently began to accept the GRE. But for some perspective, your 316 GRE is the class average at UNC Kenan-Flagler, Purdue and Florida. To both offset your low GPA and to get more in the ballpark on your standardized test score for INSEAD, I would urge you to reetake the test and aim for a minimum of 320 if not higher. INSEAD also has experienced a recent surge in MBA applications–up 57%. So I really don’t think the school is in your cards unless you can significantly boost that GRE score.
