At Oracle, I lead AI strategy for a $30M+ clean energy portfolio, aligning global VPs, engineers, and GTM and pricing teams. As a Carnegie Mellon University grad, I am innovating at the intersection of tech and sustainability. Had a brief stint at a Hedge fund after my undergrad in India. Off the clock, love traveling, hiking, and playing sports.

This is as strong a profile as I have seen in some time for Harvard. You have an important and impactful job at a major tech player, including real experience in AI which is not all that common for MBA applicants. You also have worked in finance, a nice combination with tech. Your GRE score is two points above the Harvard average and your GPA also checks the box. You also have an undergraduate degree from a prestigious university. An academic recommendation won’t carry as much weight as a professional one but given your involvement in course development it would be a great complement to to a more traditional work rec. Good luck to you.
Hi, Mr. Energy and AI PM. You are a reasonably strong candidate for HBS. Academically, you clear the bar with a 9.65 GPA in engineering, a 328 GRE, and a master’s from Carnegie Mellon. Professionally, leading AI strategy for a $30M+ clean energy portfolio at Oracle with revenue impact fits well with HBS’s focus on meaningful leadership. Your hedge fund experience, startup incubation at IIM Bangalore, and extracurricular leadership show analytical strength and initiative.
Your main challenge is differentiation within an overrepresented pool (Indian male engineers in tech) and relatively short work experience (~3 years) with more project leadership than people management. Your post-MBA goals are common and will need a more distinctive focus. Suggestion to focus on your timely AI experience which …
Your main challenge is differentiation within an overrepresented pool (Indian male engineers in tech) and relatively short work experience (~3 years) with more project leadership than people management. Your post-MBA goals are common and will need a more distinctive focus. Suggestion to focus on your timely AI experience which is still not overly common for MBA applicants. Overall, you are a credible HBS contender whose odds will hinge on your application story, leadership depth, and a compelling “why HBS” story. Good luck!
