Hi, this is JP, Senior Consultant at The MBA Exchange. One of my specialties is to work with people exactly in your situation – working professionals seeking a PT MBA program to boost their careers. So you came to the right place! Based on more than a decade working with such applicants, I can say with a very high degree of confidence that your chances of acceptance will hinge upon crafting a tangible, yet inspired career plan (short and long-term) AND matching it with the school’s resources. You’ll also need to understand how to weave your background and story into the picture, without overwhelming it, and explain how you’ll add value to the program. You’ll also need to understand how to weave your background and story into the picture, without overwhelming it, and explain how you’ll add value to the program. An experienced advisor with knowledge of what PT programs look for (including Kellogg’s) can help you do this effectively. I’d be happy to discuss it in greater detail, just email me at jpo@mbaexchange.com.
Hi Mr. Assisting At-Risk Youth, This is Debbie Choy, Senior Consultant with mbaMission. I love your personal story and how you are paying it forward in your community. I also like that you are doing very well at work, as reflected in your company sponsorship for your MBA studies. That said, with your 8 years of work experience, you may be a bit too tenured for the full-time program at Booth. Further, I am concerned that your GPA and GMAT scores are below the averages at Booth’s full-time program. Have you considered the part-time program? With your profile and stats, you would be a good fit for part-time MBA programs, where you would attend school with classmates similar to where you are in your career and …

With your profile and stats, you would be a good fit for part-time MBA programs, where you would attend school with classmates similar to where you are in your career and age. You would get the same MBA degree while being able to stay at your job and apply the knowledge you learn in the classroom to real-life business situations. My estimate of your chances are based on the Booth full-time program, but if you decide on the part-time MBA program, I think your chances would be much higher. Wishing you the best on your application journey!
Hi, it’s Jennifer Jackson from Stratus Admissions. I really admire all the work you’ve done with at-risk youth and you’ve got great brand marketing experience already. It looks like you haven’t been out of school very long. Is this typical for your company to stay, do a PT program and be sponsored with less than two years of experience? You’d be on the low end of experience for any MBA program, PT or FT. That’s not to say it’s not possible to be admitted; you’ll just have to be very clear about Why MBA, Why Now, with the emphasis on the NOW. Also your stats are quite soft, but you have a compelling story so I think you could be someone adcom roots for and …

Still, Kellogg is one of the top PT programs so I’d recommend looking at others as well.
