On a tough day at my first job, I pointed to the McKinsey office next door and said, “I’ll work there.” Three years later, I did. That moment fuels me. At McKinsey, I’ve driven meaningful, large-scale impact through data. Worked with people to create a niche in public sector finance, stationed in Saudi/Dubai for 2+ years.
Short-term: Pivot into product, tstrengthen leadership and business skills. Long-term: become a data-driven C-level exec. I also aim to launch a venture that solves real-world problems — once I gain broader exposure and secure financial stability.

Your work experience is super impressive and speaks to how accomplished you already are. Stanford obviously likes McKinsey consultants. A recent class analysis we have written about found that a small group of powerhouse employers dominate. McKinsey, Bain, and BCG collectively sent more students than any other group, outpacing even tech giants like Google and Meta or financial powerhouses like Goldman Sachs.
But you also know that Stanford is a hard nut to crack. Its admit rate hovers between 6% and 7% and that is from a self-selecting pool of highly qualified and accomplished applicants. My question to you is this: Given your goals and your aspirations for Stanford or Harvard, why aren’t you also applying to Berkeley, Columbia, Kellogg, MIT, and other U.S. schools. They would serve you better than SDA Bocconi.
