I have a record of sustained superior performance leaving each of my commands ranked at the top of my peer group. I’ve lead teams of 24 people flying sensitive missions worldwide. I have also been an instructor pilot teaching the next generation. I am ready for a new challenge and am excited to use both my leadership skills and economics background.

You should fly right into Harvard Business School with no turbulence whatsoever. Pilot of the Year? Now that impresses me who tends to grip his armrests whenever I encounter a bump or two on a slight. Seriously, you bring great chops to this MBA game, from your 3.87 GPA from Vanderbilt, the alma mater of eight Harvard MBA students in the Class of 2020, to your 329 GRE which is three points over the 326 class average. More importantly than stats, however, your track record speaks volumes for your accomplishments and for your the kind of person you are. Your post-MBA goal is also perfect, given your experience in the U.S. Navy. Harvard will be lucky to have you, my friend. Thank you for serving …

Hi Mr. Navy Pilot! This is Kate Richardson, Senior Admissions Consultant. The odds are tough at Harvard, as you are probably aware, but I feel great about your chances. You’ve got an excellent background / GPA from Vanderbilt, an above average GRE, and I also like that you have the PMP certification as that could prove useful in transitioning to consulting. Mostly though, your experience in the Navy leading such large teams on complex missions should speak volumes of your leadership, problem solving abilities, and maturity. Plus, I like that you have been giving back to others, and the pilot of the year distinction is something Harvard will love! Best of luck!
Thank you for your service and good luck!
One school? Good luck!
