Hi, it’s Nisha from mbaMission. You’re clearly quite accomplished, with a high-impact software engineering career at a FAANG, meaningful involvement in an area for which you have a strong passion, and excellent academics to boot.
What I’d love to understand more about is why you’re seeking an MBA. You mention wanting to enter venture capital – typically, VCs seek those who have finance experience (since you’re essentially evaluating ventures for funding) so this wouldn’t be a feasible immediate post-MBA goal. Hi, it’s Jennifer Jackson from Stratus Admissions. You have a very impressive profile! A 3.8 in computer science from Carnegie Mellon is fantastic, as well as a very high GMAT that will be above the average at every school. The only reason I don’t put the odds even higher is that the two schools you named admit about 6% and 10% of people. But you’ll certainly be above average. They will both love the focus on sustainability in fashion and what you’ve done so far as well as what you plan to do after arming yourself with an MBA. Just be sure to be very clear about why you need an MBA now to reach your goals, and why VC? Lots of people say they …

Lots of people say they want to enter PE or VC so be very explicit about why that route is how you can make the biggest impact. Good luck with the process! Reach out for a free consultation any time!
