You’re applying early in the pool with less than two years of work experience, unless your intention is to apply in the next admissions cycle when you will have closer to three years of work experience at matriculation. Nonetheless, you’re an impressive candidate with great stats from a public Ivy and a promotion under your belt (which is also quite an accomplishment for your age and experience level). If you are applying now, in one of the extended rounds, I think your chances could be quite good as a woman with a STEM background and a first-gen immigrant who would still bring a more international midset to the class at a time when many international admits might not be able to start this fall.
Hi this is Deepak Punwani from MBA Exchange. Agree with John’s assessment largely and his overall odds. In addition to your acads, your promotions and other factors in your favor, you have one more positive aspect in your profile – you have the zeitgeist (defined as – the defining spirit or mood of a particular period of history as shown by the ideas and beliefs of the time.) with you. Pharma and healthcare professionals in general are finding their rightful place in the sun thanks to the current health crisis. Hello Ms. RA For MBA! Thanks for posting. Krista Nannery from mbaMission here. I love that GPA! 3.8 is going to help you a lot in this process. Combine that with healthcare/pharma work and the fact that you are a 1st generation immigrant and there’s a lot to like here. If you are a URM, please check out the Consortium and take advantage of all of their amazing resources. If you indeed have only 1 year and 9 months of professional experience, I think the “Why now?” part of your applications will need to be very clear. Also, your recommenders will need to stress your maturity and knowledge. B-schools may wonder if you have enough to add to the classroom. (Average WE tends to be around …

But even with that caveat, I’d love to see you apply and I wish you all the best for this process. Perhaps add a school like Stern or UCLA just as a bit more risk-mitigation. Please do keep us posted on your results! Krista
Hi Ms. RA for MBA, Melisa here from Stratus Admissions. Go Blue! Sounds like you’ve had a successful career at your start up and throughout your time at Michigan. Because you have fewer than the average years of work experience, you will really need to sell admissions on why now. It sounds like you have worked within your field during undergrad and you’ll want to find creative ways for that to be clear in your application. And your promotion will show your upward mobility. Wharton will be looking for evidence of your leadership both professionally and personally – I would want to dig further into your volunteer experiences and understand your leadership experiences. Is there an opportunity to take a leadership role at one? I …

I like Ross since you are a MIchigan alum and would suggest looking at Duke too.
