The Master of Science in Accounting and Data Analytics is a 30-credit program covering a broad spectrum of technical knowledge and data analytics skills necessary to take advantage of the many opportunities in accounting and finance. Prior background in accounting is not a prerequisite for admission — the curriculum includes foundational accounting courses to ensure all students are prepared and able to succeed. The program is designed to be flexible and customizable. Students can take classes at their own pace and dive deeper into a concentration area including accounting analytics, taxation, managerial analysis for decision making, or transaction services (mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, and bankruptcy.)
The Master of Science in Accounting and Data Analytics is 30 credits and entirely online. Students can take courses at their own pace. Students can start the program in August or January. Courses are offered in seven-week modules and are offered in an asynchronous fashion, although there will be opportunities for optional synchronous interactions with other students and faculty.
For students without a background in accounting, there is a set of six foundation courses to prepare students for success. The foundation courses count towards the 30 program credits. Foundation courses can be waived depending upon the background of the student. Outside of the foundation courses, there are four areas of concentration in the program: accounting analytics, taxation, managerial analysis for decision making, and transaction services. Students with an undergraduate background in accounting would bypass the foundation courses and choose three of these specialty areas to complete the 30-credit degree program.
