About the Program

Students with a Master of Science in Accounting (MSACC) degree from the Gatton College of Business and Economics are prepared for a professional career in accounting and business. Students improve communication and technology skills expected in the accounting profession, gain valuable knowledge, and develop leadership and teamwork skills, especially while researching accounting issues. Lastly, they enhance creative problem-solving skills, and their ability to think logically and analytically. Program features include:

  • Open to all undergraduate majors
  • Complete CPA Exam while enrolled in program
  • Average job placement rate by semester of graduation is > 90%
  • Average pass rate per section on the CPA exam is >90%

Program Format and Schedule

The Master of Science in Accounting (MSACC) program is a 30-credit hour program that guides students through a modular sequence of courses that coincides with the CPA exam schedule.

  • Our program now offers three concentrations in: Accounting Analytics, Auditing, and Taxation where candidates can specialize in certain areas consistent with the new CPA exam.
  • Accounting Majors can complete the program in 10 months while having the opportunity to study and sit for the CPA exam.
  • Non-Accounting Majors can complete the program in 14 months while having the opportunity to study and sit for the CPA exam. NON-Accounting Majors who apply will be considered for the Bridge Program.
