“There are so many ways to gain an authentic sense of the school without roaming the halls and living and breathing it I would encourage a rogue research approach,” says Niki da Silva, managing director of the MBA program at the Rotman School of Management in Toronto, Canada. “Sure, go to our website but also read the student blogs. Check out social media. Connect with students. We facilitate those connections.  Take the conversation offline. That is where you’ll start to get to see that fit. Don’t just talk to people like you. MBA applicants have a tendency to do that. If you’re a U.K. citizen, you might naturally talk to other U.K. citizens at the school. But I would suggest speaking to students who you would never imagine meeting. That would be equally insightful.”
