Columbia Closes Out 2022 By Reporting Record MBA Compensation: Over $200K

In seeking out internships this summer, Columbia Business School’s MBA Class of 2023 mirrored their recently graduated colleagues in one significant way: a finance bias. More than 44% completed summer jobs in finance, while nearly 20% — 19.8% to be exact — had internships in consulting. Somewhat surprisingly, the percentage of tech interns was greater, at 23.7%, than the Class of 2022 grads who went into tech: 16%.

The highest-paid interns were the 17.6% in investment banking, who reported a median monthly salary of $14,583 — unless you count the 1.5% of the class who did internships in “other” and reported a median monthly of $15,768. Consulting interns’ median monthly salary was not far behind their IB brethren at $14,500.
