“I am a driven, strategic, and impact-oriented leader, blending finance expertise with a passion for social change.”

Hometown: Harare, Zimbabwe

Fun Fact About Yourself: I recently became an aunty, and words cannot describe the joy! This is a fair warning to my sister: I plan to spoil that baby!

Undergraduate School and Major: National University of Science & Technology (in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe). I studied a B.Com (Hons) in Accounting.

Most Recent Employer and Job Title: First Capital Bank (Zimbabwe). My title was “Business Performance Manager.”

How has the case method enriched your learning? Unlike traditional lecture-based learning, the case method mirrors the complexity of real-world decision-making. In business, challenges rarely come neatly packaged. They are shaped by a company’s unique resources, leadership, client dynamics, competition, and the broader economic, regulatory, and technological landscape. The case method brings all these factors into focus by grounding learning in real-life scenarios.

What I find most enriching is how it trains my mind to approach problems from multiple angles. This method has helped me to develop stronger judgment and will be an invaluable skill post-MBA, when decisions must often be made with incomplete information, competing priorities, and high stakes.

Aside from classmates and cases, what part of the school’s MBA programming led you to choose this business school and why was it so important to you? Beyond the cases and classmates, Ivey’s Career Management programming stood out. The tailored support, industry networking, and real-time feedback on career positioning gave me the confidence that I would be guided meaningfully through a major career transition into Canada’s financial services space.

Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: One of my biggest accomplishments was chairing the Management Committee (MANCO) while serving as Executive Assistant to the Managing Director at a commercial bank. In this role, I not only coordinated strategic priorities across departments, but also contributed meaningfully to board-level discussions. This helped me to shape decisions that impacted the bank’s national operations. It was a rare opportunity that gave me exposure to high-stakes leadership, refined my strategic thinking, and deepened my passion for driving systemic impact through financial institutions.

Describe your biggest accomplishment as an MBA student so far: My biggest accomplishment has been thriving through a significant life transition, moving to a new country and city where I had no personal network, and immersing myself in a demanding MBA program. Starting from scratch socially while managing the rigors of academics required adaptability, resilience, and inner drive. Today, I am proud to be excelling in class, building meaningful connections, and fully embracing this new chapter with confidence and purpose.

What has been your most memorable experience as an Ivey MBA thus far? My most memorable Ivey MBA experience so far was attending the Get Connected event with Ivey alumni. The day was packed with incredible panels that opened our eyes to different industries, from finance and consulting to social impact and tech. What stood out most was how generous the alumni were with their time and insights. Many offered to review our resumes and LinkedIn profiles, some participated in scheduled one-on-one coffee chats and provided tailored advice, and many stayed after the sessions to continue engaging with us. The event reminded me that Ivey is not just a school but a thriving, supportive network of professionals who genuinely want to see each other grow.

Where is your favorite hang-out in London (Ontario)? Why do you (or your classmates) gravitate there? My favorite hangout in London is West London Alliance Church. It is where I found a warm and welcoming community that reminded me of home. It has been a place of connection, support, and reflection throughout my time at Ivey.

What do you hope to do after graduation (at this point)? After graduation, I hope to pursue a career in the finance industry, potentially continuing in the banking sector. This is not only because I enjoyed the nature of my work prior to Ivey, but also to leverage the skills and insights I developed over my nine-year career.
