What has been your favorite part of Toronto so far?

Toronto’s dynamic cultural life – especially its music scene. The city constantly feels in motion. From live music venues to pop-up events, there’s a sense of experimentation and openness that mirrors the pace and diversity of the people here. It’s a place that energizes me creatively while still feeling grounded and livable.

Aside from your classmates and location, what was the key part of Toronto Rotman’s MBA programming that led you to choose this business school and why was it so important to you?

The emphasis on integrative thinking. Coming from private equity and financial advisory, I was trained to analyze problems rigorously. Rotman’s integrative thinking framework stood out because it goes one step further – forcing you to reconcile competing objectives and make real decisions under ambiguity. That skill is critical for leadership, not just analysis.

What course, club or activity have you enjoyed the most so far at Toronto Rotman?

Strategy coursework has reframed my understanding of what drives sustainable business success. At the same time, participating in case competitions has been especially energizing – they recreate real decision-making under time pressure and force teams to balance rigor, judgment, and communication.

Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far:

Helping drive better investment decisions, both by supporting deals and by knowing when to challenge them, strengthened my confidence to take ownership in high-stakes environments. In private equity, I conducted analyses that shaped investment committee decisions, contributing to both successful investments and disciplined decisions to walk away.

Describe your biggest accomplishment as an MBA student so far:

Building clarity and conviction around my career direction during a period of transition. During the MBA, I’ve been intentional about reflecting on my past experiences, stress-testing my motivations, and actively seeking feedback from peers, mentors, and career coaches. Rather than defaulting to the most obvious next step, I’ve learned to make decisions that align with how I think, work, and want to grow long term.

What has been your best memory as an MBA so far?

The support and generosity of the Rotman community. Whether it’s long conversations with my career coach during moments of doubt, candid advice from upper-year students, thoughtful discussions with professors after class, or late-night conversations with classmates after intense recruiting days – I’ve felt consistently supported, challenged, and understood.

Personal and professional development is one of the cornerstones of the Rotman MBA experience. What have you learned about yourself so far and what do you hope to achieve?

I’ve learned that strong analysis only creates value when it is paired with judgment, ownership, and communication. Earlier in my career, I focused heavily on getting the analysis right. Through the Rotman MBA, I’ve become more aware of the responsibility to translate insight into decisions – especially in ambiguous, high-pressure environments. Going forward, I hope to become a leader who can move teams forward with clarity and empathy, balancing rigor with practicality and helping others act with confidence amid uncertainty.
