While I thought my CV was in a very good shape to begin with the level of detail and effort that went into rebuilding the CV was commendable. It was great to see the structure come up in the CV (important points first, STAR format – easier said than done), and the CV contents being used as a baseline to create convincing essays.

I am an engineer and not a big fan of writing, so it definitely was a big challenge to begin thinking about writing essays. The brainstorming sessions on how to best portray a particular story were instrumental for approaching the essays in an intuitive manner. This was followed by numerous revisions, each version systematically improving different aspects of the content and structure. By the end the unique aspects of my profile were well highlighted.

The help with the interview process was outstanding. Writing down some key points with specific focus on the presentation and headlines definitely helped. These were followed by a few mock interviews and specific feedback on improvement, which helped me take on the interviews confidently.

I gained admission to HBS (100k), Kellogg (70k) and MIT Sloan and heading to HBS!

Once I joined, the whole process was different from the last time I applied. The level of thinking was the same as in a Chess game! Under the guidance of Lianne and David, I managed to get to 3 out of my four dream schools and get maximum fellowships. When I got the big bold “YES” from my mostly strived school, I felt like I could have achieved anything. If I would have decided, a decade ago, to become an astronaut – today I could have become one. That was the feeling.
I remember that time once when one of Ivy representative called me to ask if I was pleased with the process. It was at mid-July, several weeks prior application submission. I answered that Lianne is always providing me with the best attention, but it was not a wonder as she is a new consultant, so I am her only applicant. The representative laughed and replied that Lianne is guiding five applicants. With response time as swift as Lianne provided me, I could have never guessed.
There was that occurrence when I came out of an interview, and had to write a post-interview reflection. Spoiler Alert: I interviewed at Harvard, was admitted to Columbia, and will be starting at Wharton this fall as a merit scholarship recipient (I only applied to these three programs).

But I can assure you that I’m not the all-star b-school candidate that you might be imagining. I didn’t go to a fancy undergrad, my GPA was just average, my gmat score was just above 700, and I am a non-traditional applicant a few years older than the average b-school student. My x-factor was undeniably Eli David. I am absolutely certain that I would not have had the success I had without Eli, Rom, and the IVY team- it’s a definitive fact. It’s truly difficult to effectively capture the profound amount of knowledge and expertise of his team and the limitless support- both in terms of the application process but also the demanding emotional duress- that I received from IVY.

First, Eli was incredibly strategic and methodical in terms of how I marketed myself to business schools as well as how I should approach the application workload and essays. It was efficient and effective, there’s no way I could have juggled all components with the demanding job that I had.

Second, as you might know by now, applying to business school is A LOT of work and it’s a grueling process. You have to get deep and introspective- especially if you apply to a program like HBS.
