Cormney & Company - MBA Admissions | MBA Admissions Consultants

Working with Tyler was one of the BEST decisions I made during this whole process. He didn’t just help me with my MBA application — perhaps more importantly, he helped me take a step back and really figure out what I want to do next and how Stanford GSB fits into that bigger vision.

Tyler has a real gift for helping you connect the dots between where you’ve been and where you’re headed. Before we started working together, I felt like my experiences were a collection of separate chapters. Through our conversations, he helped me weave them into a clear, authentic story — one that felt true to me and exciting to share — and taught me how to articulate my story more confidently and naturally.

What I appreciated most is how collaborative and empowering the process felt. Tyler didn’t just tell me what to write or how to position myself; he asked thoughtful questions, challenged me when needed, and helped me see things in a new light.

Thanks to Tyler, I’m heading to my dream school, Stanford GSB, with not just a great application, but a much deeper understanding of my path forward. I couldn’t recommend him more highly.

I can’t recommend Tyler highly enough! As a traditional finance applicant applying in Round 3, I knew the odds were completely stacked against me. On top of that, I was working extremely long and unpredictable hours, which made the application process feel nearly impossible to manage. I had friends from work who swore by Tyler, and I’m so glad I reached out to him. From day one, he made everything feel not only doable, but incredibly achievable – and he was absolutely instrumental in turning my dream acceptance into a reality!

What impressed me most was how far above and beyond Tyler went in every single part of the application process. He was endlessly flexible with my hectic schedule and patiently worked with me through multiple essay drafts – never rushing, always encouraging, and making sure we both felt each piece was perfected before we moved on. Tyler has a real gift for helping you peel back the layers and uncover what truly drives you. He helped me connect the dots between my passions and work experiences in such a natural, authentic way. On top of that, he’s an incredible writer with an eye for detail that is second to none. Thanks to his thoughtful feedback, my application really shined-and I even feel like I grew as a writer through the process!

When it came time for interview prep, Tyler was right there too – supportive, practical, and motivating. He gave me the tools and confidence I needed to walk in fully prepared. At every step, he cared about my success just as much as I did, and it made the entire process so much less stressful knowing I had someone genuinely rooting for me every step of the way.

Working with Tyler was truly one of the best investments I’ve ever made. He’s not just an outstanding admissions coach-but also a mentor, a cheerleader, and an all-around incredible person to have in your corner. I genuinely believe I would not be at an M7 program today without his support. If you’re on the fence-don’t be! Tyler is simply the best!

I was on the fence about whether or not I should use an MBA admissions consultant. I decided to speak with a few friends about their experience to ask if the investment was worth the end result. One friend, who was accepted into an M7 program, overwhelmingly expressed her gratitude to Tyler and recommended that I reach out. I was surprised by this endorsement because knowing her accomplishments, I fully expected that she could navigate these waters independently. However, after working with Tyler, I now realize that even if you have the background, accolades, writing skills, stamina, and spirit to get into a great MBA program, Tyler asks insightful questions that allow you to reflect on your story and tell it in a cohesive and digestible manner. Though he already had a full roster when I reached out, he still offered to help out with my application process. After discussing my background and goals on our initial call, I immediately understood that he cared about my success. The access that he provides to his online portal provides tactical information on how to put your best foot forward. Tyler was curious, thought-provoking and opinionated which is exactly what one should look for in a consultant. He continued to be a helping hand in the process and I was fortunate enough to be accepted into my dream program. For those of you who are hesitant about spending the money, I personally believe that Tyler’s services are invaluable. Thank you for everything, Tyler!

Tyler has an exceptional understanding of what business schools are truly looking for. After working with him, I felt that my application was in the strongest possible shape. From strategic insights into my profile, highlighting strengths and areas for improvement, to extensive feedback on every detail of the application, it was clear that Tyler genuinely cares about my success as much as I do.
I also want to highlight the professionalism of Tyler’s support throughout the process. His quick turnaround times, sharp eye for detail, and consistent mentorship made a huge difference. When it came to interview preparation, I felt confident and well-informed about what to expect and how to present myself effectively, thanks to Tyler! I couldn’t have asked for better support during such a critical stage of the application journey.

I came to Tyler Cormney not just for MBA advising, but in search of clarity. I had dreamed for years of starting my own school and educational program—an ambitious vision rooted in purpose—but I knew I needed the right next step to bring it to life. Through reflection and research, I realized that an MBA was not only helpful, it was essential. Yet I was surprised to discover that the best programs aligned with my goals—Duke, Yale, Berkeley Haas—were among the most competitive in the country. And very quickly, Berkeley became my dream.

I began working with Tyler in late August, while navigating one of the most emotionally challenging times in my life. I was overwhelmed, uncertain, and intimidated by the process ahead. From the beginning, Tyler showed up with a rare combination of empathy, clarity, and rigor. He wasn’t there to simply “fix” my application—he was there to understand me, to challenge me, and to help me discover the clearest and most powerful version of my story.

Tyler’s process is both strategic and deeply human. He started with an intensive interview process that pushed me to reflect on the experiences that had shaped me, the values I live by, and the goals I was working toward. Rather than offering cookie-cutter advice, he encouraged me to dig deep—to be vulnerable and specific. The final versions of my essays were pieces I’ll be proud of for life, not just for how well they told my story, but for how honestly they captured who I am.

What truly sets Tyler apart is his ability to guide clients through personal challenges while holding high standards. During our time working together, I faced significant emotional hurdles, and yet Tyler remained a steady and thoughtful coach. He maintained professionalism and compassion in perfect balance—keeping me focused, while always making space for humanity.

One of the most impactful moments came during our work on Berkeley’s “What Makes You Feel Alive?” essay. I initially approached it from the surface but Tyler kept asking: what lies beneath that? Why does that matter? Those questions led me to something deeper: the connection between aliveness and my resilience in overcoming the trauma of bullying. That breakthrough reshaped not just my application, but my self-understanding. It’s the kind of insight Tyler consistently helps draw out he genuinely wants you to understand and articulate your truth.

The results spoke for themselves: I was admitted to Berkeley Haas—my top choice—with a significant merit scholarship. That outcome exceeded my expectations, both in terms of recognition and financial support. But more than the acceptance letter or the scholarship, what I gained from this process was a stronger sense of self and a clear, compelling vision for my future.

If you’re applying to top MBA programs and want more than just a consultant—if you want a coach, a mirror, and a guide through one of the most transformative journeys you’ll ever take—there is no one better than Tyler Cormney. I’ll always be grateful to him, not just for helping me get into my dream school, but for helping me find the courage and clarity to tell my story, even in one of the hardest seasons of my life.

I sought Tyler’s help late in the application process, but even a few focused sessions helped take my application to the next level. He helped turn a solid foundation into something far more compelling.

What impressed me most were these strengths:
– Pattern recognition – connecting the dots, uncovering the underlying story behind the application, and clearly identifying its strengths and areas for improvement
– Individualized coaching – asking the right set of questions to draw out the best and most authentic version of yourself
– Craftsmanship – Tyler has an exceptional ear for language and helps you strike just the right notes while telling your story with clarity and authenticity

Highly recommend Tyler to anyone looking to dive deep and achieve a greater level of clarity in telling their personal and professional story.

Tyler supported me through my Round 1 applications, and I couldn’t recommend him more! From the very beginning, he guided me every step of the way, often making time to meet in the evenings after work and on weekends as deadlines approached. He goes beyond just helping applicants answer application questions—he takes the time to truly understand you as a person, including your background, family, and experiences. He provided continuous feedback, pushed me to think beyond my comfort zone, and helped me uncover meaningful experiences I hadn’t considered in years. I also had a complicated job description, and he made a real effort to grasp exactly what I was trying to communicate. Thanks to his support, I was able to present the best version of myself and submit my application with confidence I wouldn’t have had otherwise!

Thanks to Tyler, I got into my dream school! As a nontraditional candidate, I was incredibly nervous and unsure how to navigate the application process. But Tyler made me feel confident and helped me craft an application that was both deeply authentic and compelling—one that ultimately got me accepted into HBS. But Tyler was more than just an admissions coach, his kindness and empathy helped me gain a deeper understanding of myself, my dreams, and my motivations. Working with him was truly a transformative experience, and I’m 100% certain I couldn’t have gotten into HBS without his guidance.

I worked with Tyler on my Round 1 MBA applications, and I truly believe his guidance played a key role in my acceptances to HBS and GSB. His process challenges you to think deeply about what sets you apart and helps refine your unique story. Tyler also pushed me outside my comfort zone in the essays, which I’m confident made a significant difference in the strength of my applications. He’s incredibly responsive, detail-oriented, and has a clear vision of what a great application looks like. While his services are on the pricier side compared to other consultants, the investment is definitely worth it. If you’re serious about getting into a Tier 1 program, I wholeheartedly recommend working with Tyler.

I was introduced to Tyler by a GSB alum I met by chance, and my advice to anyone considering business school applications: don’t leave this journey to chance. No matter where you are in the process, Tyler is the ideal coach to help you navigate applying to the world’s most elite business schools. Although I had been planning to apply for an entire year, I had no idea where to begin. I use the term “coach” because that’s exactly what I needed: someone to guide me, help me understand what it takes, and hold me accountable. If you’re someone who thrives with clear lists, action items, and a well-structured timeline, this approach is perfect. Life has a way of throwing curveballs – during my time working with Tyler, I helped plan my wedding, dealt with a company acquisition, got married, went on a honeymoon, and studied for the GMAT. Naturally, I fell behind at times, but Tyler was crucial in getting me back on track. Tyler’s method is thorough and intentional. The hours I spent reflecting on my life and the deep introspection he guided me through – with thoughtful questions and targeted exercises – allowed me to see myself and my motivations in a completely new light. He took the time to create a clear picture of who I am, which became the foundation for everything we worked on afterward. When it came to defining my career aspirations, I was essentially a blank slate. Tyler provided the resources and tools to help me embark on a journey of self-discovery to identify what I truly wanted to accomplish. What stands out is that he didn’t dictate what sounded good or impressive on paper. Instead, he helped me develop an authentic narrative rooted in my own voice – which was crucial for me. For the essays, Tyler’s guides helped me understand the purpose of each one and how we would approach it. I particularly appreciated the feedback loop when working on outlines and drafts, as it gave me the freedom to explore any idea. I come from an engineering background and hadn’t written an essay since my sophomore year of college. Even then, my audience was usually a room of engineers, so translating my thoughts into compelling, digestible content for a broader audience was part of the challenge. The constant feedback loop helped me refine my ideas, and some of the best content came from concepts I thought were half-baked but ended up resonating. When I received my HBS interview invite, Tyler’s preparation steps had me ready to dive into mock interviews. HBS interviews are not for the faint of heart, but with Tyler’s guidance, I felt ready to tackle any question. He’s with you every step of the way – no matter the question, no matter the time. I always felt like Tyler had my back. The relationship you build with Tyler is unlike any other. He gets to know you in a way that makes him more familiar with your story than even some of your closest friends or family. When I received my acceptance, the first person I told was my wife, and the second was Tyler. His skill in crafting a vision for your application, and connecting every element into a cohesive, compelling story, is truly masterful. I feel incredibly fortunate that a chance encounter with a stranger led me to Tyler. To this day, I believe it was a bit of divine intervention because, without him, I wouldn’t be where I am today.

I was initially very unsure about hiring an admissions consultant. It felt like a significant investment, and I wasn’t convinced it was necessary. Looking back, I can confidently say that working with Tyler was well worth it, not just because of the outcome (admission to my top choice of business school), but also because of the personal clarity and growth I gained throughout the process.

What sets Tyler apart is his thoughtful, structured approach. He combines a mix of out-of-the-box resources, tailored tools, and meaningful one-on-one conversations. This isn’t about someone doing the work for you — it’s about being guided through a reflective and strategic process where you can focus on uncovering your story and honing your message. He sets you up to complete a lot of the personal work like research and early brain-dumping on your own, which keeps your time with him focused on the most impactful aspects of the application.

One of Tyler’s standout skills is how quickly and deeply he grasps your experiences and helps you think about them in new ways. He doesn’t just listen — he challenges you to refine your ideas and pushes you to dig deeper into your motivations and goals. By the end, the story we crafted felt not only authentic but also strategically aligned with the goals I was aiming to convey.

Tyler also strikes a great balance between being flexible and holding you accountable. He’s understanding of a busy schedule and works with you to find solutions when time is tight, but he also keeps you honest about deadlines and ensures that you stay on track. This balance was crucial for me to effectively manage the app process on top of lots of other involvements.

Ultimately, my experience with Tyler went beyond just creating a strong application. It helped me reflect on my career, values, and aspirations in ways I wouldn’t have done on my own. If you’re considering working with him, I’d recommend viewing the process as more than just a service for getting into business school. It’s an opportunity for personal discovery and growth, guided by someone who is deeply skilled at bringing out the best in your story.

Working with Tyler was hands down one of the best decisions I made last year. The MBA application process is daunting and there is a lot more to it than just writing a couple of essays and filling out some forms!

From my first meeting with Tyler, he was genuine and really sought to understand my experience and who I was as an applicant. He didn’t try to push me to apply to certain schools and he really took the time to listen to why I was interested in certain programs. From the beginning of our journey, Tyler was very organized and provided me with a clear roadmap of what our work would entail on a weekly basis.

We spent hours in the first couple of weeks talking about my career, my life, and my journey as Tyler soaked in all the information and stories I had to share. It was incredible to me how Tyler was able to pinpoint exactly what mattered to me and who I was at the core by the end of these meetings. With his guidance, I was able to effectively communicate how my life story influenced my mission statement and post-MBA career goal. When it came time to write the essays, Tyler and I went through multiple drafts for each school and I cannot stress how helpful it was to have his critical eye. Tyler is a seasoned pro and he knows how to help you frame your story to make you the best candidate possible. And finally, when it came to the interviews, Tyler and I walked through common questions and did a mock interview which helped calm my nerves for the real thing.

I cannot thank him enough for his patience, feedback, and enthusiasm throughout what can be a very stressful process. To me, I didn’t just walk away from this experience with admits to two top schools (MIT Sloan and Berkeley Haas), but also a deeper understanding of who I am.

Working with Tyler never felt to me like working with a consultant, even from our very first interactions, when I was doing a round of quick free consultations. After meeting several other folks, my conversation with Tyler really stood out to me, as he felt by far the most authentic / genuine and willing to help me craft my story. As someone with a few more years of work experience than the standard applicant, I knew it would take more legwork to tell my story efficiently and effectively, as well as articulate why and how an MBA would further accelerate my career. Tyler’s process is granular and gradual – it is a step by step process that continues to build on itself starting from my upbringing through all 3 work experiences I had. Deeply reflecting on my life, goals, and what mattered most value-wise, the light bulbs around potential essay topics started to illuminate for me. Tyler’s style is very warm and approachable – he guides, but doesn’t prescribe, and all of my MBA prep felt like it came organically from me. Additionally – Tyler is very organized, and his project management skills / process are elite. I always knew what I needed to do and by when. Overall, I was very happy with how all of my essays and applications turned out, despite only really kicking off things in full with Tyler in July (for R2 deadlines). My GMAT took a bit for me to get my desired score, which delayed some of my work on my essays but Tyler was very easy to work with and never pressured me on timing for anything. I just finished orientation at one of my top 3 schools and I couldn’t have gotten to this point without Tyler. 100% recommend Tyler Cormney or at least an initial consultation to meet him for a few minutes to see for yourself!

I had an absolutely amazing time working with Tyler throughout the application process. He was incredibly thoughtful and really took the time to listen to my entire life’s story. He asked really insightful questions that prompted me to think deeply about my motivations and aspirations for the future. His approach is very individualized, and he really takes the time to get to know you and what makes you special / unique. His approach is also very structured, which was great because I knew that I was on track with each given school’s deadline. Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend Tyler and had such a positive experience working with him. Super responsive and incredibly helpful!

Tyler’s guidance throughout the admissions process was invaluable. From the outset, he exhibited a keen appreciation for laying the groundwork effectively. Tyler demonstrated an incredible ability to discern underlying themes in my experiences and aspirations and then helped me articulate them with precision and clarity. His insightful questioning prompted me to arrive at concepts I had been circling around but struggled to define definitively. Throughout this process, Tyler leveraged and shared his deep understanding of what resonates with different schools to ensure I effectively communicated my story in the most impactful way for the given audience. I was interested in Wharton’s Health Care Management (HCM) program, and Tyler helped me understand the program better and how that might translate into which experiences I chose to emphasize in my application. His guidance was instrumental in receiving my acceptance.

What impressed me most was Tyler’s flexibility in tailoring his guidance to suit my needs and constraints. He offers a comprehensive set of resources and a well-developed process (resource library, videos, guides, etc.), but does not rigidly adhere to the program in an unwavering manner; rather, he adeptly adjusts his approach to accommodate each client’s needs. The ability to understand how best to help his clients, paired with the flexibility to reflect it in his program structure was very valuable and particularly helped on a tight application timeline. Tyler’s responsiveness and unwavering support fostered a sense of confidence and assurance at every stage.

Finally, Tyler’s proficiency across several key industries, (such as consulting, private equity, or banking), proved instrumental in translating industry-specific experiences / skills into language accessible to a more academic audience. In essence, Tyler’s understanding of his clients’ day-to-day experiences enhanced my ability to translate my experience into a compelling application. I strongly recommend Tyler as a coach if you are seeking admission to a top business school.

Tyler is awesome and I couldn’t have been accepted into HBS without him. I had a unique but challenging story to tell. Tyler found a way to harmonize my story and turn negatives into positives. He not only helped me become a better applicant, but he helped transform me into a more thoughtful professional. Thank you, Tyler. You are truly a game-changer!!

Tyler acted as an incredibly thoughtful coach throughout the application process. At the start of our sessions, he made it clear that it was up to me to do the work and it was my story to tell in the applications. He would simply help create some structure (deadlines, etc.) and ask me to dig deep, give me reading materials and frameworks to spur my thought process. I appreciated how authentic the process felt to myself. At times it was almost therapeutic! Having the structure and deadlines helped me stay on track during a very busy period of my life but still got the applications in on time. At the end of the process, I became more confident and more sure of why I needed to go to business school – and more importantly that I belonged among the students there. I 100% recommend working with him and would do it all over again!

I truly believe Tyler is as good as it gets when it comes to MBA consulting. I felt so comfortable with Tyler to express my thoughts and ideas. I felt confident that I could not put forward a better application after working with him. He pushed me in the right moments to get the most out of me and I cannot recommend him and thank him enough for his role in my admissions process. There are three things that really stood out to me about Tyler’s approach

Intuitive Understanding:
One of Tyler’s standout qualities was his profound understanding of me. I always felt he grasped not just the content but also how I would react and think. This intuitive understanding created a foundation of trust, allowing for a more personalized and effective application strategy.

Dedication as a Coach and Partner:
Tyler fully embraces the roles of coach and partner throughout the entire process. His unwavering support and the trust I placed in him with my thoughts and opinions were so crucial in navigating the application journey.

Detail-Oriented Push for Excellence:
Tyler’s coaching style was defined by a remarkable attention to detail. He consistently pushed me to extract the maximum potential from every aspect of my application. His focus on the smaller points ensured that every component contributed meaningfully to the overall strength of my candidacy. It was not an easy path, but the effort was all worth it.

If anyone is truly committed to submitting the best MBA application they possibly can, then there is no better person to work with than Tyler.

Let me lead with the conclusion: I cannot imagine a better MBA consultant than Tyler. Across every dimension he is the best of the best. If you’re about to start down the road of the MBA application process, and suspect that it might be complex and challenging (which it is), I would highly-recommend that you work with Tyler. He is a mentor who helps you to navigate the process effectively and to produce the best possible application. His proven process and excellent direction help you to craft a story that is true to you, specific, and compelling. Be warned: he is not some consultant who is being paid to rubber-stamp a vague or simplistic or in any way not-excellent application. He will provide you with challenging, but productive exercises to get your juices flowing, and work with you to align on what makes sense. He will shepherd you through multiple drafts of every essay, providing detailed and insightful criticism until it is not just serviceable, but perfect. He even helps you to make your ~250-character application short answers shine. Once you get the interview – and there is a good chance that you will given the excellence of the application that you have put together with Tyler’s guidance – he will provide you with materials to help you to prepare, and conduct a rigorous practice interview with you. Again, I can’t conceive of how an MBA consultant could be better than Tyler at what he does. He does charge a premium for his services, but other than on price, I don’t think any alternative consultant could be better. My thinking is – going to business school is a big decision, and if you’ve decided to do it, then you might as well put your best foot forward.

I had a wonderful experience with Tyler. Tyler was instrumental in my application process. He helped me craft my story, sculpt my application, and develop my resume.

Without this help, I would not be attending Stanford this fall.

Thank you, Tyler!

I didn’t know how to start the incredibly daunting MBA application process. A year prior, I was told by multiple consultants that my story wasn’t compelling enough to get me admitted to any of the top schools. Then, a friend put me in contact with Tyler, who proved to be the best admissions coach that I could’ve asked for. His patience, his ability to draw out key points from my story, and his empathetic disposition made an otherwise grueling process doable.
From the very beginning, he was patient with my scheduling changes and my struggles to get my story right. If I got writer’s block, Tyler was always there to answer the phone and help me brainstorm new directions for each essay (regardless of the time!).
He was really skilled at taking out the key points from my professional and personal life that I hadn’t even thought about, and he used those points to help me pull together my story. Given the span of the essay requirements for Wharton and INSEAD, having Tyler help look at my story across a variety of directions was extremely valuable.
This application process was a significant pull and Tyler provided the best coaching I could have ever asked for. Thank you again for all of your help, Tyler!

Tyler was responsive, helpful, and straightforward. I always felt like I was moving in the right direction, and he gave realistic guidance on what was achievable. Going through the journey with him was an experience of self-exploration. I came out more confident in myself and with a firmer grasp of my life goals. He helped me stay on top of my applications which wouldn’t have been possible with my busy schedule, and he pushed me to reflect way beyond the surface level. He was more than an advisor for the MBA process. I feel like I grew as a person from working with him and some of the techniques used to dial into my motivations have integrated into other aspects of my life. If you care at all about being the best version of yourself, then Tyler should be your first choice.

The Most Genuinely Thoughtful and Empathetic Advisor I Could Have Asked For!

I was initially apprehensive about the application process because I had no idea what I was going to write about or how I would tie separate pieces of my application together. I spoke to several advisors before deciding to go with Tyler, as he struck me as one of the most patient and experienced advisors. From the beginning, Tyler was asking the right questions to get to know me on a foundational level, and I learned so much about myself in the process.

You really do get out of it as much (if not more!) than you put in! I wanted to take my application seriously and asked a lot from Tyler at times, especially as the application deadline drew near. He has a can-do, positive attitude and is always open to helping you organize your thoughts live. I never felt like I was unfairly burdening him with additional questions, as he genuinely had my best interests in mind and was open to reciprocating the work I wanted to put in. His process keeps you feeling organized and on track, and he makes you feel comfortable asking any and all questions you may have at all stages of the process.

His real superpower comes from his creative writing background and extensive experience in this role. He has a special intuition that allows him to pick out salient parts of your story and put it together in a coherent story. Where many advisors may settle for “good enough”, Tyler never takes the easy way out. He pushes you to consistently deliver your very best work, and in turn you can always expect Tyler’s best efforts each and every turn.

Regardless of the outcome, I would’ve come away with a deeper understanding of myself, my values, and how events in my past shaped who I am today and who I want to become, which would have been a valuable experience in itself. Getting into HBS was the cherry on top, and I could not have done it without Tyler’s support!

Tyler makes the MBA application process feel not only manageable but also rewarding. He goes so above and beyond the role of an admissions consultant and is really more of a partner who pushes you to reflect and better articulate your story in a manageable, step-by-step way. I was accepted to Stanford GSB and could not have asked for a better coach throughout that process.

3 reasons why Tyler was so great:

(1) He is incredibly thoughtful, to the point where he felt like a life coach. One of the first exercises I did while working with him was to map out my life story and career goals in order to build an initial understanding and foundation for my application. His pattern recognition, attention to detail, and investment in you are unmatched. For example – there were a couple of times where months into the application process, he brought up relevant experiences I had put on the initial “life story” worksheet but had since forgotten about.

(2) He provides comprehensive support. The fact that Tyler only takes a small number of clients each cycle was evident in the level of care and commitment he shows. It took a huge weight off my shoulders knowing that during the busiest parts of the application process, he was always there to provide feedback on written materials and interview prep alike. Not only is he generous with his time, but he also has an extensive database of sample videos and materials for every step of the application process that you will get access to. Between the off-the-shelf materials and his tailored approach, I felt like I had more support and resources than I could possibly use.

(3) He is honest yet encouraging, and given his extensive experience has a keen eye for what matters. While friends or mentors were helpful sounding boards, I felt like only Tyler consistently gave me the honest feedback I really needed to hear – e.g., where to cut out the fluff, when something wasn’t working, etc. At the same time, he was the best cheerleader throughout the process, right down to when I got the acceptance call!

All in all: Go to Tyler if you want to a) finish the MBA application process knowing you gave it your best possible shot, b) come away with a better vision of who you are and where you want to go, and c) have a wonderful coach to cheer you along the entire way.

Quite frankly, I had not heard of admission consultants before; I wasn’t even searching for one! I came across Tyler’s website by chance (~late November for an R2 submission) while searching for essay writing tips to tune up my essays.

Tyler’s profile caught my attention because he had an MBA with a master’s degree in professional writing. I was curious to know how consultants could help..especially for someone like me (I considered my application ‘nearly there’), so I scheduled a free consultation.

Our first conversation was smooth; Tyler makes you feel very comfortable. I surveyed another admissions consulting firm too, but eventually went with Tyler for a few reasons:

1) Tyler’s background – MBA and professional writing. A very unique and powerful combination!

2) His personality/approach – not pushy, and like other reviewer’s have noted below, Tyler is like a life coach who tries to understand who you are deeply. There’s a genuine interest to go beyond the top layer (which I realized later can help your essay reflect who YOU actually are, and help you stand out)

3) Experience – I valued Tyler’s rich years of experience; he would have seen what works well and what would not. There are consultants who may have a good personality/approach, but may not have the experience to guide your unique case proficiently.

As we got going, Tyler encouraged me to start from the basics of my story so he could understand who I was and guide me accordingly. I may have been a bit impatient because I thought my essays were almost complete before Tyler reviewed them, but he patiently took me through a few life exercises that got me thinking so much more deeply (and I am very thankful for!). What made me who I am? (people/situations) What are my innermost drivers? What do I really (really) want to do in my life? Tyler was able to connect the dots in my story and articulate it beautifully which encouraged me to go back to my essays and give them a few more rounds of work. He knew my top schools extremely well (a huge plus!) – their culture, what they stood for, and looked out for in candidates. He was very patient while reviewing my essay drafts, going through each iteration with full commitment (even though he had read them a few times already!) and sharing valuable pointers at EVERY step (every tiny detail!). Huge KUDOS to his strong work ethic and great attitude!

With Tyler, I received a stellar blend of the usual tactics that consultants employ (tools to keep things on track, 1:1 sessions, offline essay reviews, interview guidance/mock practices), AND his experience, expertise, and attitude kept me pushing for the best till the very end!

I would absolutely and whole-heartedly recommended Tyler’s services!

When I decided I was going to apply to business school, I wasn’t sure about whether I was going to work with a consultant but as I reflect back on my process, working with Tyler was the BEST decision I could have made to be admitted to my dream school (Harvard Business School). He is an outstanding coach and mentor that helps you dig deep to shape your own story. Beyond having a clear process with modules, articles, and videos (which I suspect is the norm for other consultants as well), I will share a few ways he stood out. (1) Tyler will be your biggest supporter and cheerleader. The business school application process can be stressful and oftentimes requires digging deeper or re-writing and when I hit a writer’s block or got discouraged, he always found a way to guide me in the right direction and keep me motivated. (2) He asks the right questions and lets you shape your own story. Finding a compelling story to tell is no easy feat but Tyler has a unique ability to help you do so. There were many “AHA” moments during our conversations, moments when I struggled to think about how to tie the stories together but a single question from Tyler helped me get there. (3) He is an outstanding writer that helps you balance the right level of detail and conciseness.
I am so thankful for Tyler’s support throughout the process and could not recommend him more!!

I would 100% recommend Tyler to friends applying to business school.

I was daunted by the MBA essays. I decided to work with Tyler after attempting to write a number of drafts – I could see that the narrative was not coming together and that I needed support to build and refine the story.

I spent time with Tyler talking through my experiences and aspirations after business school. My next few drafts were much better. Working with Tyler helped me to think deeply about what has been my personal turning points, what is driving me, and where I really wanted to go with my career. These sessions were immensely helpful not only for the application process but also led to some ‘aha’ moments for my career planning in general!! Tyler will coach you to understand and craft the best story that you can given your experiences and aspirations – it was exactly the help I needed.

Tyler also supported me to prepare for interviews – his guidance and encouragement ultimately helped me to go in feeling prepared and confident. The post-interview debrief call shortly after helped me to gather my thoughts prior to the post-interview reflection essay.

I really believe that Tyler’s support helped me to present my case in the best light possible for HBS Admissions – I am very grateful for his guidance!

For starters, Tyler Cormney is an absolute legend. For almost 12 months, he served as my consultant, coach, and therapist. His continued guidance and leadership allowed me to accomplish my goals of gaining acceptance to my dream school, and I couldn’t have completed this treacherous application process without him. Tyler is dedicated to his client’s success, and his selective client list allows for extensive/ample time with each of his clients! 100% recommend, do not hesitate to reach out!!

When you select Tyler as your consultant, you are working with the MBA application master. Tyler differentiates himself from other consultants because he: (1) has developed a proven playbook, (2) has pattern recognition, and (3) serves as a true partner to those he works with. (1) In regard to his proven playbook, Tyler has been getting folks into top MBA programs for over 15 years. As someone who knew little about what the MBA process entailed, I was thrilled after my first meeting with Tyler. He clearly outlined what I needed to do to get into a top business program (Columbia was my first choice) and mapped out the key steps and timeline to get there. One of the most important parts of this process is branding yourself and Tyler knows how to do that better than anyone else. As someone with a fairly generic background, I combed through my academics, professional experience, extra-curriculars, and goals with Tyler to find a way to best position my story and differentiate myself from other candidates. What Tyler is especially strong at is finding the common thread that links backgrounds with future aspirations – something that I would have never been able to do on my own. Tyler not only knows how to create a memorable brand, but also how to effectively articulate it in essays, resumes, and throughout your application so that MBA programs can get a true sense of who you are. (2) In terms of his pattern recognition, Tyler has seen it all and has his finger on the pulse of what top MBA programs are looking for. After thoroughly reviewing my background and positioning my brand, we came up with a list of target MBA programs. Tyler showed me that although there are multiple top programs out there, they are all different – and he knows all of them inside and out! (3) Finally, Tyler serves as a true partner to those he works with. Over our ~4 months working together, Tyler was in the trenches with me. Every time I asked a question, sent him a draft, or wanted to talk, he was always available. I never felt like I was just a number with Tyler – he gave me his undivided attention and was always trying to think of ways to improve my positioning (even texting me articles about new developments at my target schools and podcasts about my career goals!). To conclude, I cannot speak more highly of Tyler – he really is the best. If you are looking to get into a top MBA program, he is the MBA application master who will get you there!

After speaking with several consultants earlier this year, I selected Tyler as I was impressed by his: 1) structured step-by-step approach to the application process, 2) genuine interest in learning about me and telling my story, and 3) thoughtful and personalized approach to coaching.

Throughout my process with Tyler, I always felt supported and “on track”. He is highly qualified as someone who has gone through the application process himself and graduated from HBS, and he also has the writing chops with a Master’s degree in professional writing. Over this past year, I was impressed by how structured and efficient, yet thorough, Tyler’s approach was. We started off with deep-dive sessions into my personal and professional history, in which he helped pull out the key themes and areas I could highlight. My reflection process with Tyler was extremely introspective such that we could really understand and present my authentic self to the admissions committees. We met on a weekly basis to work through my essays and application, in which Tyler pushed me to dig deeper into my personal mission and “why” in life. His guidance helped me distill and convey my story in the clearest and most effective way possible.

Receiving an acceptance to Stanford GSB has been a long-time dream of mine, and I couldn’t have gotten here without Tyler. Thank you for all your guidance and support!

I can’t recommend Tyler enough. I was a round 3 candidate that got admitted to 2 out of 4 schools applied-Wharton, CBS; which were also my top two choices. I really appreciate Tyler for going beyond his contractual responsibilities to help me land the MBA admission offer of my dream.

Given all the odds that made 2020/2021 extremely unfavorable in timing for top MBA applicants (covid, fewer seats due to deferral, etc), I believe it’s not exaggerating to say that it’s an incredible success for any round 3 candidates to receive an admission offer from any of the top B-schools for the class of 2023. Nonetheless, while I did have a fairly successful career pre-MBA, I had graduated from a less well-known college and didn’t have an impressive record of extracurricular activities during college due to some unfortunate personal reasons. As such, I headed into the preparation process feeling very directionless and somewhat not too optimistic about my candidacy. Tyler has helped me uncover highlight-worthy aspects of my personal and professional success narratives, and in the process, mentally prepared me to confidently present my story during the admission interviews.

Last but not least, Tyler remained supportive of me and resourceful until the very end of the process as I was trying to power through the overwhelming period of round 3 unpredictabilities post-interviews.

Once again, I recommend Tyler with my utmost confidence for his superior expertise, professionalism, and compassion one will hardly find in a typical admission consulting coach.

Tyler has been my coach for my MBA application. With his coaching and guidance, I got into HBS!! I had low confidence in applying to Harvard as I have a very non-traditional background and I graduated from a mediocre undergraduate school. Tyler spent a lot of time learning my personal and working backgrounds, and he quickly identified a pattern of how I made decisions and how I was able to accomplish some of the achievements, and these elements served as great building blocks for my MBA applications, strengthening my confidences in applying HBS. We also had a couple of brainstorm sessions during which Tyler guided me to dig further into my career passion. Not only did I learn how to put my stories into my essay, but I was also able to understand myself better and articulate my post-MBA goal. I wrote many drafts of the essay, and Tyler was always very patient in terms of giving me feedback. When I got an interview invite from HBS, I was thrilled and couldn’t believe it was happening. Tyler did a mock interview practice session with me and it tremendously helped me to prepare for the real interview. When I received the offer letter from HBS, I was screaming and crying. In summary, I feel very lucky that I found Tyler as my coach. Tyler is extremely experienced, efficient, and helpful. He used a lot of methods to make sure I could fully understand myself and therefore present the best of me in my application. In addition to getting the HBS offer, I learned a lot from Tyler. I highly recommend Tyler if you are serious about getting into your dream MBA programs. Working with Tyler will be one of the best investments you will make!!! Thanks again, Coach Tyler!!

As a 2+2 applicant who was starting a little late in the game (February of 2021 – roughly 2 months to complete apps), I knew I needed a consultant that would work with me in this shortened timeline and push me to the finish line. After interviewing a dozen other consultants to determine who would be the right choice, Tyler was the clear frontrunner on several dimensions: 1) knowledge in the area 2) years of experience 3) energy and excitement for me as an individual and my unique points of difference 4) clear understanding of a variety of career paths and how to effectively map my career journey and 5) ability to effectively craft and showcase narratives in a unique and compelling way (strong background to back this– Master’s in professional writing and HBS). I can say that after two months of working together really closely, these dimensions still ring true and more.
Tyler has a really unique approach and style to crafting MBA applications that I truly appreciated. He takes the time to understand you and help you understand yourself, which is critical to writing the best essay you can (and an essay that is actually true to you).
For my HBS essay, I went through so many versions (was on version 30+). I came close to giving up on myself but Tyler never gave up on me. He pushed me to continuously refine and refine until we got to perfection and I’m so happy to say that the final version is something that I’m really proud of – might have been one of the best pieces of writing I’ve ever written. Tyler’s the best coach, consultant, mentor, supporter, and cheerleader out there – if you’re having any doubts on which consultant to pick, don’t – because Tyler is the best out there and the one for you.

I cannot recommend Tyler enough!! He epitomizes a mix between a mentor, life coach, and an admissions consultant. He devoted a great deal of time getting to know me, my story, and my aspirations for attending business school. From my time working with Tyler, it was clear that he really cares about his clients and wants to see them succeed personally and professionally.

In terms of the working relationship, it was a pleasure to work with Tyler as he always made himself accessible and was truly engaged on all our sessions. He helps make the introspective journey manageable. His questions always sought to peel back the onion on my experiences and help me see the life themes that put everything together.

As you can imagine, the application process is long and arduous, but Tyler made it easy. He was always encouraging me despite bouts where my motivation was candidly subpar. He understood when we had to defer my applications to round 2 and I am forever grateful for his confidence and reassurance about that decision.

I never thought in a million years I would get accepted into Stanford, Harvard, and Wharton. Without Tyler’s help, I know I would not have been in this position and highly recommend his services for anyone else looking for a friend, mentor, and consultant for their b-school application journey.

I did a lot of research when I decided to hire a consultant. I created a spreadsheet and talked to my top ten choices. Tyler stood out immediately because of his rich experiences and genuine interest in my stories. I am extremely pleased that I went with Tyler, and I have recommended him to many friends. You can see from how carefully he reviews your work that he is dedicated to helping you enhance every element of your application, no matter what it takes. I learned so much from him about storytelling and writing. My boss at the time even said to me: “Your writing has improved so much. Are you taking a writing class?” Another thing I appreciated about Tyler was his flexibility. My parents were visiting from overseas, so I had to squeeze a lot of things at the beginning so that I could travel with them. Tyler accommodated my tricky schedule with full understanding. In summary, I am grateful I worked with Tyler so much that I took the time to write him this review when I am about to graduate from Kellogg in one month!

As I worked with Tyler over the last year, he became more than just an admissions consultant – he was truly a mentor, life coach, and thought partner to me. From the beginning, Tyler took a genuine interest in me and my goals, and in the process, helped me to discover my own story, what I had to offer, and where I wanted to take my career. This journey of self-discovery, guided by Tyler, was honestly worth more than the acceptances I’ve received (although those were pretty great too – Wharton, Chicago, Columbia, and Yale!). Tyler’s process is a perfected art and science, and I cannot recommend him highly enough!

Tyler is superb, a true pleasure to work with. I rate him a 10/10, and I feel that I have a high bar. Reading his previous reviews, I would echo a few themes: he is a true expert in his field, he will devote a great deal of time to your application (i.e., you will absolutely get your “money’s worth”), and he could easily moonlight as a therapist or life coach.

A few additional notes that would have been salient to me as I was selecting a consultant:
-Tyler is an excellent, excellent writer
-Tyler’s process is efficient and not at all over-engineered
-Your finished product will be truthful. Tyler helped me put my best foot forward while being 100% authentic to myself
-Your work with Tyler will continue to be helpful long after the admissions process is over. Tyler’s guidance has permanently shaped how I present my personal narrative

As someone who aspires to make a career in client service, I have a great deal to learn from Tyler. I would strongly encourage you to work with him.

I cannot recommend Tyler highly enough. I began my application process fairly late (mid-November for second round applications), and quickly interviewed a number of consultants. Tyler’s reputation, but also his punctuality, and genuine interest in my story, stood out. I went with Tyler, as he made me feel comfortable and confident from the start even though I was working against the odds from a timing perspective in one of the toughest application cycles. I applied to HBS, Wharton, and Columbia, and would have been happy with any of them. With Tyler’s help, I was able to gain acceptances to all three programs.

We began by digging into the micro-components of what would become my application strategy. Tyler was truly a thought partner throughout this process, raising new ideas, and pushing me to reframe some of the ideas that I came to the table with. Tyler was genuinely interested in understanding me as a person, and what my goals were, which was reflected in the ideas he helped me generate. He was always willing to “dive down the rabbit hole” with me on my essay concepts, but also was transparent but respectful when he thought I was going down a path that would result in wasted precious time. Tyler made himself very accessible throughout the process and even hopped on an 11 pm Zoom with me the night before I submitted my applications. Tyler was equally helpful when prepping for interviews.

In short, Tyler served as an honest, supportive mentor throughout the process. He is an excellent consultant, but also a good person that clearly cares about his clients. I cannot recommend Tyler highly enough.

Tyler’s high-touch support, thorough processes, and genuine kindness make him best in the business!

I worked with Tyler last summer/fall and would recommend him to anyone considering an admissions coach/consultant. Not only does he offer high-touch support and a thorough process to help create a high-quality application, but he is also genuinely kind and thoughtful. From day one, Tyler was available and deeply involved in helping me with my applications. During our initial intro call, he talked for well past our allotted 30 minutes to really get to know me and continued to be available whenever I needed help or a sounding board. More than just being available, however, Tyler has a great process for helping you think through your own story to craft a great application. While certainly helpful for its intended purpose, these exercises also provide value to general career planning and life outside of work. Throughout all his support, Tyler is also kind and thoughtful. With the amount of time spent discussing background and plans, his kindness and thoughtfulness helped me refine my story and left a lasting impact. In the end, I was admitted to two of my top choices (Darden and HBS ) but I would still recommend Tyler the same even if I hadn’t been.

I was introduced to Tyler through a mutual friend who had used his services the prior year. Before working with Tyler, I had already solidified my list of schools; written and re-written my main Stanford GSB essay; and selected, met, and worked with my recommenders. I felt prepared to submit my application Round 1 and was hoping to have Tyler’s support to get me through the finish line. When I first spoke to Tyler, I was convinced that I was further along than I was and although he didn’t think Round 1 was feasible, I truly appreciated how flexible he was in his approach, from offering to meet me where I was at to starting from scratch and leveraging the work I had already done. I chose to start from scratch and to submit Round 2, although I was skeptical that the resources that I was spending would be worth it. I was proven completely wrong. Tyler was an exceptional guide throughout the business school process.

Tyler has a unique creative storytelling ability with a powerful gift of listening to your stories and synthesizing the deeper meaning behind your words. I was very sure of my vision and goals, yet the pieces were complicated to put together and articulate succinctly. As I spoke, I witnessed Tyler listen intently, process my stream of consciousness, and repeat back a succinct message that was exactly what I had been trying to articulate. Although my vision and story were clear to me, Tyler provided a very structured process where he spent several hours diving into my personal story, from my strengths and weaknesses, personal, and professional experiences, to where I saw myself going. Throughout this process, I built my own self-confidence about the assets I would bring to a business school community, in ways that I would have not been able to do independently given that I had never even thought about going into this depth before putting pen to paper. This increased self-confidence was a gift that I now carry with me far beyond the business school application process.

Given how multi-faceted the business school process is, I felt consistently on track and supported because of how thorough, detail-oriented, and precise Tyler is. Although I had already chosen my recommenders and worked with them on the recommendations, Tyler’s methods brought me to the next level: he gave me the space to support my recommenders in ways that allowed them to “show, not tell” in my letters, along with very specific examples. Both of my recommenders were impressed with the level of rigor and support I provided, all due to Tyler’s process. In addition, Tyler provided very specific comments during multiple iterative drafts of all of my materials, from 150-character responses in application portals to my resume. I could see that Tyler was taking considerable time to go through every word I had written and to provide very specific feedback—I never found a single comment unclear or superfluous. Each edit elevated my work to a level I hadn’t known. He never shied away from an additional draft that I sent his way, and by the end, my writing was incredibly crisp, clear, and emotive. To this day, I still use some of the materials in new essays I write for scholarships.

Of the six schools I applied to (Wharton, Stanford, MIT, Haas, Kellogg, and NYU), I received five interviews and got into five schools. I would not have had the peace of mind that I had if it hadn’t been for Tyler. I knew that no matter what happened, I had put my best foot forward with Tyler’s coaching. I could not more highly recommend Tyler as a coach, cheerleader, and guide throughout the business school process. If I could continue having mentorship calls with him about my next steps in life, I would without a doubt!

I had my heart set on HBS when applying to business school, and given my somewhat challenging profile (international student, banking / PE background) I knew I had to put my absolute best foot forward to even stand a chance at getting in. Tyler came highly recommended from my college mentor, who was an HBS alumna herself.

The business school application is, at its heart, a soul searching exercise, and Tyler is the perfect companion to guide you through it. There were no essay templates or “HBS-worthy” answers – Tyler really took the time to get to know my motivations starting as far back as my family background, prodding me to look deeper at my own personal history and identify patterns of behavior that we then strung together into a compelling narrative that reflected values that I hadn’t given conscious thought to for a long time. He made the effort to get to know me as a person and helped guide my essay and application to reflect what he knew about me – which stands out compared to the relatively sterile essay-editing processes that a lot of my other friends applying to business school went through.

When it came to writing about my career goals and “why business school”, I worried that my goal of going back into investing post-MBA was just too cookie-cutter, but Tyler never gave up on me and kept nudging my thought process deeper layer by layer to get at the true reasons I wanted to go back into investing, and helped me succinctly articulate my vision for the future in a way that was a completely natural extension of my life story. Again, Tyler doesn’t tell you what to write or what to think – he just helps you peel back the layers between disparate goals or dreams you might have, and helps you see the natural connections that have been there all along. It’s basically therapy, and Tyler is a fantastic therapist who works magic in that hour or so you have together per week.

Finally, Tyler is great at dealing with all manner of MBA application crises (which believe me, you will have). From pre-interview jitters to a last minute essay re-write to a total home redecoration for the perfect Zoom interview background – Tyler has seen it all and is a calming presence with a Swiss army knife of tools to help you prepare for ANY eventuality. He only works with a small number of clients so you never feel like you are being cast aside at any point.

Long story short, I was accepted to HBS in Round 1, and I have no doubt that working with Tyler was a key determining factor in making that happen. Tyler is truly amazing at what he does and I would 100% hire him again if I had to make the decision over again.

I’m lucky to have worked with Tyler to receive admission to both Stanford and Harvard in the fall. I first met Tyler through a quick phone call where I immediately felt like he was interested in helping me communicate my unique story rather than simply churning out applications. I think this fact made me a successful applicant. I talked to several other MBA consultants to get their advice on my resume but felt like Tyler was the only one who thoroughly answered all my questions/concerns. Over the course of my MBA application cycle, he coached me to connect the dots in my experiences and communicate via storytelling to articulate what I want to do with my career. I also appreciated that he had quick responses and turnaround times, whether it was jumping on a call or shooting back an email. Although the application cycle can be a stressful process, I felt encouraged with Tyler coaching me through it. Applying for an MBA is a decision that will change your career trajectory—I would recommend choosing the best coach to help you through this journey and therefore cannot recommend Tyler enough.

Coach, consultant, mentor, advisor… He may be called many things, but above all Tyler is a craftsman that knows his craft.

After attempting (and failing) to get into business school the previous year, I decided to invest in my future and seek professional advice on my MBA applications. I found Tyler through the P&Qs website and was struck by how personable he was during our first conversation. I instantly connected with him and felt like I was just catching up with an old friend. He immediately saw my potential (unlike some other consultants I had reached out to) and shared my enthusiasm for taking on the H/S/W challenge.

During the first couple weeks working together, I used Tyler’s templates to share my life story – who I was, where I’d been, and where I wanted to go. Each time I talked with Tyler, I could tell he wanted to gain a deeper understanding of what makes me tick. Talking through my experiences and answering Tyler’s questions helped me realize that many of my unique life events all had a common purpose/motivation. It was clear we had found my essence.

After collaborating on a central theme to highlight my essence, we began working on the different components of my application. Tyler was a visionary that understood when, where, and how to share the different stories from my past and bring them to life throughout my application. He guided me on every component of the application, always sharing his opinion and respecting my decision. His structured approach broke down each application component into manageable tasks that kept me on track and never let me feel overwhelmed with the process.

Tyler’s masterful storytelling distinguishes him from other consultants. During your conversations with him, Tyler will draw out your inherent traits and qualities and help you envision the best way to weave them together in an artful storyline that demonstrates your leadership skills and experiences. Let me be clear, he does not write anything for you, but he does spend hours brainstorming ideas and themes until you have a clear direction of where to take your essay. After your initial draft, Tyler continues to review your writing and will provide you minor course corrections and share additional ideas that could further enhance your work.

Tyler also understands that while each school says they are looking for leadership potential, they are all searching for it in unique ways. He approaches each school application with a fresh and different perspective that is tailored to a particular school. When working on multiple applications, Tyler will use the first application as a starting point and then help you reinvent it to highlight the specific traits the next school is searching for.

Throughout the months that I worked with Tyler, he was always extremely thorough in everything we worked on, which in turn prepared me exceptionally well for my interviews. I diligently and studiously followed Tyler’s directions throughout the application and interview process, and I can honestly say working with him will give you the best odds for success at receiving an invitation and acceptance. I’m speaking from experience – I was accepted into my DREAM school.

My partnership with Tyler was a journey of self-discovery – I learned and appreciated how my past has shaped me into the person I am today – and I will forever be grateful to Tyler for taking this journey with me.

Tyler supported me through every step of the business school application process with a level of planning, tools, responsiveness, and empathy that far exceeded my expectations. From our first meeting, he helped me transform my non-traditional path to business school into a narrative that ultimately led me to be accepted to my dream school, HBS. Tyler breaks down the lengthy, sometimes overwhelming application process into manageable steps and is your unwavering guide, coach, supporter, and editor through everyone, whether it’s updating your resume, organizing your story to write impactful essays, challenging you to think critically about your application strategy and career goals, writing those critical essays, preparing guidance documents for your references, or pushing you to be your very best for your interviews. When it came time for interview prep, my nerves initially got the best of me, and I had trouble breaking down the technical jargon that was a second language for me into clear stories. Tyler worked tirelessly to ensure that the candidate he had gotten to know over months of working together was accurately reflected in my interviews, and did not give up on me until we had practiced enough to get it right. Use Tyler as your MBA admissions consultant. He is so much more than a consultant and will take the time to get to know you on a personal level to ensure that you put in the work to reflect the best version of your story in your application and interviews. And there is tremendous value beyond a business school application and acceptance from what you learn about yourself from Tyler.

Tyler was an amazing resource and partner throughout the entire MBA application process. I got a late start on round 1 applications with only 4 or 5 weeks to complete apps. Given the stress I was under, I decided to have an introductory conversation with Tyler on the advice of a friend (who actually didn’t get into their top school, but still couldn’t sing Tyler’s praises enough). I spoke with a handful of consultants on introductory calls, most of whom either were quick to call out holes in my resume, unresponsive, entitled, or seemingly uninterested in the job they were asking ~$10k+ to do. Others were salesy and tried to emphasize how quickly I needed to sign / wire money to reserve a spot with them and to stand any chance at all with a school like Stanford.

From our first introductory call, Tyler was a true partner who believed in me but it was clear to emphasize the amount of work that was ahead of us on such a short timeline. Throughout our engagement, Tyler was extremely flexible (radically altering his typical engagement style given our tight timeline) and highly responsive, thoughtful, and patient (despite having plenty of reasons to be frustrated with me and my fits-and-starts style). Tyler even patiently worked with me through a poorly timed European vacation the week before applications were due.

Tyler helped me focus in on what was most important to convey in my essays and always pushed me to get down to the essentials, shedding details (sometimes painfully) that I thought were important, but were really just noise. His feedback and razor-sharp writing critique was so valuable, but I also appreciated that when Tyler and I came to an impasse or had a disagreement on certain details or stylistic choices, he clearly made his point of view known, but deferred to me (even if I was violating a sacred law of writing) with some comforting and empowering version of “this is your story and you need to tell it in the way that rings true to you.” This allowed me to ultimately construct an essay that was so very personal – a piece of writing that brought my mother to tears and something that I know I’ll look back on proudly for years, as it was so uniquely mine.

After I hit submit on my GSB application, I knew that whether I got in or not, I was proud of the effort I put in and had put together the best possible work I could in the time frame I had. Thankfully, I got into Stanford, and Tyler was a huge part of that. He served as a guiding voice and invaluable sounding board/partner throughout and really helped me learn a lot about myself. I couldn’t recommend Tyler highly enough – his steady temperament, and his unique combination of Creative Writing expertise (grad degree) and a Harvard MBA make him the perfect MBA consultant – I’ve already sent many friends of mine his way and will continue to do so.

Tyler is a one-stop-shop for every step of the MBA process. He has extensive experience working with clients over many years, so each strategic move is based on real-world feedback from the top MBA schools. He presents an organized approach to tackling the many workstreams of the application process. If you are willing to put in the work, he’ll make sure your application is your best foot forward for your MBA candidacy.

Tyler helped me get into my dream school and I know I couldn’t have done it without him. He helps you develop your story and define your potential career path and prepare for interviews. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone considering business school.

I did extensive research on admissions consultants and wanted to hire a company that would pair me with only one consultant throughout my application process. I hired Tyler because we had a conversation prior to any commitment. Tyler came prepared to the meeting having analyzed my resume and gave a candid and thoughtful analysis of what his approach would be (and provided references of his past clients). My experience with Tyler was exceptional, not only because I got into my top choice (Columbia Business School), but because Tyler took a methodical approach by first 1) understanding my professional history and 2) the different career paths I was considering. Only then did we start to craft my story, and then finally considered essays. I also only had meetings with Tyler (as promised). Candidly, I had the raw materials necessary for a strong application, but Tyler’s experience and writing ability allowed me to craft a cohesive and logical story, which give me a competitive advantage.

I want to start by saying that I would not have gotten into business school without Tyler’s help. I was serious about going back to school, but having gone to a non-target undergrad and with mid-tier work experience, I had no idea where I would land. I’ll now be graduating with an MBA from Wharton next year because of Tyler. Tyler is undisputedly the best in the business (I did a lot of research, and spoke to a number of consultants before deciding to work with Tyler), and has a unique approach of working with candidates — rather than trying to fit your experience into a specific mold, Tyler takes the time to understand your “personal story” (in an impressive amount of detail), and then works with you to identify the attributes/ experiences that will set you apart. He is involved in every step of the process, from identifying schools to going through MANY iterations of essays, to working with your recommenders, to reviewing applications, to interview prep, etc. Tyler actually caps the number of clients he works with at any given time to ensure the quality awarded to each individual, and even then I was impressed by how responsive and detailed he was when it came to my applications – I felt like his only client throughout the entire process. Tyler’s efforts ended up getting me into Wharton, CBS, Booth, and Tuck (quite the diverse spectrum of schools). Working with Tyler was the best investment I’ve ever made in my future, and was worth every penny. If you’re serious about business school, working with Tyler is a must. THANK YOU TYLER!

Like many, I sought an admissions consultant to even the playing field, but what I found in Tyler was way more – he was a life coach that took me on a journey of self-discovery. Tyler won’t write an essay for you, but he will ask you for very detailed questions about your background, your dreams, and your motivations. With me, he keeps digging relentlessly until together we discovered a strong, honest narrative for what I am seeking in a career where an MBA program is a piece of the puzzle. The narratives and motivations he helped me discover still guide me like a compass years after I’ve graduated. I also learned skills to self evaluate and self examine each time I find myself at a career crossroads. Oh, and it doesn’t hurt to get into your top two schools (Booth and Sloan) with scholarships attached to both on the way.
