Working with Allison was a game-changer for my MBA applications! She’s incredibly focused and efficient, doesn’t waste time on things that don’t matter and instead zeroes in on exactly what schools are looking for. What really sets her apart is her ability to connect the dots and help you tell a cohesive story. My experience with Allison was truly outstanding. I come from a boutique consulting background and pursued an MBA to broaden and deepen my skill set, as well as to use it as a launchpad for my long-term career goals. I applied R1 exclusively to HBS, Wharton, and Stanford, a strategy I knew was ambitious and inherently risky. From the outset, Allison clearly walked me through those risks while helping me make an informed and confident decision.

What made my experience with Allison so fantastic was her structured and thoughtful approach to the entire process. We began by clarifying my career goals and strengthening my resume, then moved systematically into each school’s essays and short answers. Her guidance brought clarity, focus, and rigor to every step, while ensuring that my application was authentic to me.

Without her structure, continuous feedback, and frequent reminders (e.g., when I’d forget to turn a draft of an essay because of my hectic work schedule), I wouldn’t have submitted applications of the same quality. In the end, I was fortunate to interview at both Harvard and Wharton and was accepted to Wharton. I couldn’t be more thrilled, and I owe a huge part of that success to Allison.

Allison was THE reason I was accepted into so many schools! I owe her so much. She was incredibly responsive, willing to work with me any day of the week, with tight turnaround times for reviews. What I appreciated the most is that she was incredibly open and honest. If an essay wasn’t my best work, she would tell me – I needed that! She helped me navigate such a difficult and anxiety-filled process with comfort and ease, and ended up being a huge success. She didn’t just tell me what I wanted to hear, but what I needed to hear. I come from an MBB background where I was a dime a dozen when applying to top MBA programs. I was fortunate enough to receive an HSW admit, 4 total M7 admits, and 3 more T10 admits with scholarship!

I connected with Allison after an initial application attempt that ended in multiple waitlists and rejections. I remained persistent and looked to her to help me understand how I needed to improve. Her honesty and directness stood out to me in our first meeting and benefited me through the application process. Her clear direction is what empowered me to increase my GRE score, take a supplemental math course, and improve pretty much every other part of my application.

The part of working with Allison I valued most was her ability to identify my blind spots and willingness to push back on my thinking and assumptions. While others had told me what I “wanted” to hear, Allison told me the truth. This was exactly what I needed and ultimately what enabled me to put together a package of materials I felt very proud of.

One area where her assertiveness and direction shown through was my why MBA/career narrative. I’ve had two pretty disparate professional experiences, but Allison helped me discover how to tell a concise and compelling story about what I learned from each and how this motivated my desire to get an MBA. She also helped me add rigor to this narrative through research and a business “proposal” of sorts that turned my why MBA into something much more differentiated. This narrative formed the basis of my applications and made me feel a lot more confident approaching the process a second time.

In terms of working style, Allison is very responsive and prompt with essay feedback, flexible in terms of approach (ex. we really focused on my resume, career narrative, and why MBA essay), and was easy to meet with throughout the process. She provides encouragement around each “win” while also setting expectations about the competitiveness of the process. Working with Allison, I ended up receiving offers from two of my top programs, Booth and CBS! Reflecting on the process, Allison really encouraged me to be my best, which turned the arduous task of reapplying into an extremely valuable learning opportunity, with lessons that will stick with me for the rest of my career. I can’t thank Allison enough for her support and would highly recommend her to others looking for a rigorous and rewarding application process.

I’ve worked with Allison for 2 application cycles. I came to Allison last minute to finish my R1 application 2 years ago. Even given the extremely short time frame, Allison helped me re-positioned my main essay and we worked around the clock to meet the deadline and I ended up getting a HBS interview. I was grateful for that experience and while that 1st year didn’t work out in the end, I reached out to Allison again this year and finally received a dream offer. Personality Fit: Allison is great at giving you straightforward, no-nonsense advice. She wastes no time and our meetings were very succinct– you’ve got essays to write, after all!

Personal Needs: I wasn’t sure which schools I wanted to apply to and her insight on balancing timelines, personal capacity, and my niche interests helped clear the way. I’m also a younger candidate (2.5 years out of college when I applied) and my background is in politics, NGOs, and freelancing with tech start ups, so not your classic IB track.

Essays: MBA application essays are so different from the undergrad Common App or even my friends’ essays to law school. That was not intuitive for me, so having Allison lay out clear expectations and provide edits was a game changer. She can also help you distinguish interesting points of your background from an outside perspective. Convincing her to also let me edit on Google Docs over Word (which is much less intuitive for me) was a win too!

Overall/ Result: Allison suggests while respecting your own choices. I felt I could be honest with her about my inner monologue and fears regarding the decision-making process. I was waitlisted to interview and went against Allison’s recommendation to re-test, and instead focused on demonstrating my USPs and arranging a chat with the MBA director who offered me personal feedback (not test related). Important to remember that as a coach, she’s here to guide and provide feedback on your instinct, but not tell you what to do. It’s up to you to hold your schedule accountable, although Allison’s gentle check-in emails definitely helped to nudge me along.

And it worked! Thank you Allison for believing in me– I’ll be spending my next year in Cambridge at Judge.
