I’ve been helping students with applications for over 20 years. I love working with clients to discover what makes each unique and how to craft their stories to stand out to admissions officers. As the elected Editor of The Harbus (the HBS newspaper) while a student and former President of a literary magazine and publishing company, I have honed my skills as a writer and storyteller, enabling my clients to secure offers from top schools in the U.S. and abroad.
Aside from admissions work, I have extensive experience as an executive across various industries. In addition to my roles in investment banking at Credit Suisse and consulting at Bain, I’ve founded several companies, including a chain of wine bars, and held executive positions in start-ups and larger firms, including a publicly traded e-commerce company where I led a division of 750+ employees. I’ve also served as an investor, board member, mentor, and contributed to due diligence, fundraising, and recruiting programs for several startups, accelerators, and VC firms. In my community, I actively volunteer my time to mentor start-up entrepreneurs and support women in business. Additionally, I serve as a Board Member of the Harvard Business School Club of Arizona and as President of the Wellesley-in-Phoenix Alumnae Association.
I received a BA in Chinese Studies from Wellesley College. While earning my MBA from HBS and serving as the Editor-in-Chief of The Harbus, I was the VP of The Women’s Student Association. I received the President’s Award at graduation and a Harvard fellowship that provided funds for tuition.
We are more than typical admissions advisors. Founded by a Harvard MBA alum, we guide, empower, and mentor applicants to achieve success in the admissions process and beyond. We support applicants from diverse backgrounds, demographics, and industries in achieving success in applications to M7 and T10 business schools, dual-degree, international, and deferred MBA programs. We focus on you. We focus on results.

Looking back, I can confidently say that working with Allison changed my life. After 9 years of working, the journey back to school felt daunting. But from our first conversation through the final submission, she provided direct, thoughtful feedback grounded in real care. She is honest with what to expect and the realities of admissions (ie luck is a factor), but will support you through whatever your ultimate goal is. I applied to top programs only and she rightfully called risk to this strategy. However, working with her resulted in admission to HBS, CBS, Stern, Booth, and Yale with Waitlists at Kellogg and MIT.
Coming from a CPG background with solid but not standout quant scores, telling my story well in the essays was critical. Allison’s upfront work on career goals, combined with her patience in really listening to my ideas and story helped me shape a narrative that felt true to me and also resonated with admissions officers.
She has a rare ability to balance candor with support. She pushes you to be polished, but never at the expense of your authenticity. Every part of my application was stronger because of her – from the essays, to the interviews. Balancing application work with a full time job can also be challenging – and she went above and beyond to keep me on timeline.
Allison is unmatched in both her expertise and how much she genuinely invests in her clients. I am heading to Harvard Business School this fall, and I know I would not be in this position without her.
I still remember my first call with Allison. When I walked her through the schools I was thinking about, she was very upfront in setting expectations. She made it clear that getting into the very top programs is always possible, but there’s usually some element of luck involved. Looking back, I honestly feel like working with Allison took a lot of that uncertainty out of the process.
What stood out most was how she brought structure to everything. I was juggling GMAT prep, essays, and a pretty demanding job, and without her I definitely would’ve fallen behind. She kept me organized, held me accountable, and made sure I was consistently making progress even when things got hectic.
She was especially helpful on the essays. We went through a lot of iterations, and she was incredibly patient throughout. More importantly, she had a real ability to pull out stories and angles that I wouldn’t have thought to use on my own. A lot of what ended up in my applications came from conversations where she helped me reframe experiences in a way that actually reflected who I am and what I care about.
Throughout the process, she was always responsive, supportive, and genuinely invested. When interviews started coming in, she was also a great coach and helped me feel much more prepared going into them.
I was definitely a bit hesitant at first about hiring a consultant given how unpredictable the process can be, but in hindsight, I can’t imagine having gone through it without Allison. I’m really grateful for her guidance. With her help, I was fortunate to be admitted to all five M7 programs I applied to, which I think speaks to how strong her process and support really are.
Working with Allison was an incredible experience. I was reapplying after working with a different consultant last year and receiving only 1 interview/no acceptances out of 6 applications. I had essentially the same background and this time received interviews from all 6 and was admitted into 5 including my top choice of CBS. Allison is incredibly candid and great at helping organize your application into a fluid and clear story. She was able to distill my experiences and pushed me to draw and deeper experiences while focusing on the things that would help make my application stand out. She is already incredibly responsive, flexible, and very on top of things like timing/deadlines. Most importantly, you can tell that she truly cares and it isn’t just a money grab like some other consultants. She will always act in your best interests and checked in very often when she didn’t have to. Could not recommend her more and will be sending any friends applying to MBAs her way!
I came to Allison as a US-based international tech professional with a profile that felt like a long shot for the elite programs I was targeting (especially given my low GPA from undergrad). I knew my narrative had to be airtight to stand out and leverage every inch of my resume. Allison was instrumental in that process. I went with her all-inclusive application consulting package.
Allison was incredible at helping me strip away the jargon from my profession and find the high-impact items in my background that would actually resonate with admissions. Also, as an applicant working a full-time job, I deeply valued her efficiency during meetings and her prompt turnaround times.
She also helped me navigate the decision-making process for my reach schools with a healthy balance of realism and encouragement. During the process, she acted as a sounding board and provided me with those gentle (but necessary) nudges to keep my schedule on track.
Beyond the essays, her feedback on my conversation style was transformative. Her keen eye for the little details, from word choice to pace and body language, helped me ace the interview.
Despite the daunting odds of my list, the process was a resounding success. I am thrilled to be heading to my dream school (US – T15) this fall with a scholarship!
Working with Allison was a game-changer for my MBA applications! She’s incredibly focused and efficient, doesn’t waste time on things that don’t matter and instead zeroes in on exactly what schools are looking for. What really sets her apart is her ability to connect the dots and help you tell a cohesive story. She helped me see patterns in my own background that I hadn’t recognized and turned them into a clear narrative.
Allison is also super candid and honest. She gives direct feedback on what’s working, what isn’t, and why. She pushed me to dig deeper, challenged vague answers, and made sure every essay had real purpose and clarity. I was accepted to Booth and LBS, and I couldn’t have done it without her. If you’re looking for someone who genuinely cares about your success and knows how to bring out your best story, Allison is the one!!
My experience with Allison was truly outstanding. I come from a boutique consulting background and pursued an MBA to broaden and deepen my skill set, as well as to use it as a launchpad for my long-term career goals. I applied R1 exclusively to HBS, Wharton, and Stanford, a strategy I knew was ambitious and inherently risky. From the outset, Allison clearly walked me through those risks while helping me make an informed and confident decision.
What made my experience with Allison so fantastic was her structured and thoughtful approach to the entire process. We began by clarifying my career goals and strengthening my resume, then moved systematically into each school’s essays and short answers. Her guidance brought clarity, focus, and rigor to every step, while ensuring that my application was authentic to me.
Without her structure, continuous feedback, and frequent reminders (e.g., when I’d forget to turn a draft of an essay because of my hectic work schedule), I wouldn’t have submitted applications of the same quality. In the end, I was fortunate to interview at both Harvard and Wharton and was accepted to Wharton. I couldn’t be more thrilled, and I owe a huge part of that success to Allison.
Allison was THE reason I was accepted into so many schools! I owe her so much. She was incredibly responsive, willing to work with me any day of the week, with tight turnaround times for reviews. What I appreciated the most is that she was incredibly open and honest. If an essay wasn’t my best work, she would tell me – I needed that! She helped me navigate such a difficult and anxiety-filled process with comfort and ease, and ended up being a huge success. She didn’t just tell me what I wanted to hear, but what I needed to hear. I come from an MBB background where I was a dime a dozen when applying to top MBA programs. I was fortunate enough to receive an HSW admit, 4 total M7 admits, and 3 more T10 admits with scholarship!
I connected with Allison after an initial application attempt that ended in multiple waitlists and rejections. I remained persistent and looked to her to help me understand how I needed to improve. Her honesty and directness stood out to me in our first meeting and benefited me through the application process. Her clear direction is what empowered me to increase my GRE score, take a supplemental math course, and improve pretty much every other part of my application.
The part of working with Allison I valued most was her ability to identify my blind spots and willingness to push back on my thinking and assumptions. While others had told me what I “wanted” to hear, Allison told me the truth. This was exactly what I needed and ultimately what enabled me to put together a package of materials I felt very proud of.
One area where her assertiveness and direction shown through was my why MBA/career narrative. I’ve had two pretty disparate professional experiences, but Allison helped me discover how to tell a concise and compelling story about what I learned from each and how this motivated my desire to get an MBA. She also helped me add rigor to this narrative through research and a business “proposal” of sorts that turned my why MBA into something much more differentiated. This narrative formed the basis of my applications and made me feel a lot more confident approaching the process a second time.
In terms of working style, Allison is very responsive and prompt with essay feedback, flexible in terms of approach (ex. we really focused on my resume, career narrative, and why MBA essay), and was easy to meet with throughout the process. She provides encouragement around each “win” while also setting expectations about the competitiveness of the process. Working with Allison, I ended up receiving offers from two of my top programs, Booth and CBS! Reflecting on the process, Allison really encouraged me to be my best, which turned the arduous task of reapplying into an extremely valuable learning opportunity, with lessons that will stick with me for the rest of my career. I can’t thank Allison enough for her support and would highly recommend her to others looking for a rigorous and rewarding application process.
I’ve worked with Allison for 2 application cycles. I came to Allison last minute to finish my R1 application 2 years ago. Even given the extremely short time frame, Allison helped me re-positioned my main essay and we worked around the clock to meet the deadline and I ended up getting a HBS interview. I was grateful for that experience and while that 1st year didn’t work out in the end, I reached out to Allison again this year and finally received a dream offer. Allison is direct yet thoughtful, and always provides timely feedback. I highly recommend working with Allison if you dream big and high!
Personality Fit: Allison is great at giving you straightforward, no-nonsense advice. She wastes no time and our meetings were very succinct– you’ve got essays to write, after all!
Personal Needs: I wasn’t sure which schools I wanted to apply to and her insight on balancing timelines, personal capacity, and my niche interests helped clear the way. I’m also a younger candidate (2.5 years out of college when I applied) and my background is in politics, NGOs, and freelancing with tech start ups, so not your classic IB track.
Essays: MBA application essays are so different from the undergrad Common App or even my friends’ essays to law school. That was not intuitive for me, so having Allison lay out clear expectations and provide edits was a game changer. She can also help you distinguish interesting points of your background from an outside perspective. Convincing her to also let me edit on Google Docs over Word (which is much less intuitive for me) was a win too!
Overall/ Result: Allison suggests while respecting your own choices. I felt I could be honest with her about my inner monologue and fears regarding the decision-making process. I was waitlisted to interview and went against Allison’s recommendation to re-test, and instead focused on demonstrating my USPs and arranging a chat with the MBA director who offered me personal feedback (not test related). Important to remember that as a coach, she’s here to guide and provide feedback on your instinct, but not tell you what to do. It’s up to you to hold your schedule accountable, although Allison’s gentle check-in emails definitely helped to nudge me along.
And it worked! Thank you Allison for believing in me– I’ll be spending my next year in Cambridge at Judge.
I worked with Allison on an hourly basis for my MBA applications – and received interview invites in 4 out of 5 highly selective programs (including Stanford). What sets Allison apart — I’ve previously worked with several other consultants and am thus somewhat qualified to make this distinction — is her ability to focus on key aspects of one’s profile. Often, applicants have the urge to include as many details as possible, regardless of how small, which then ends up diluting attention away from key differentiators. Allison will help you avoid this suboptimal path — and it’s truly been a pleasure to work with her.
As a younger person who was interested in deferred MBA schools, I had so much trouble finding information or people to help me. I felt overwhelmed so a friend who got into the HBS 2+2 a couple of years ago introduced me to Allison. Oh my gosh! I’m so lucky that I met her! Not only is she really experienced with applications, but she’s also really helpful. She helped me figure out what programs to apply to with my interests and profile, helped me create really strong applications, and was there for me whenever I was worried. She gave me the confidence I needed. She also helped me with interviews. One thing I really appreciated was the little things she pointed out to make me more aware of my words and even my body language. I’m so excited that I’m going to IESE!! It’s a dream come true!!! But even after my acceptance I still go to Allison for advice about things like internships and scholarships. She’s a lot more than just my advisor. I now call her my guardian angel (lol)!
I am an older, untraditional candidate. Even though I’ve had success in my career, I always dreamed of returning to school for an MBA. Yet, I had no idea where to start. Allison helped me sift through options in a very clear way, determine which programs were the best fit, and was with me every step of the way through the application process. She’s honest, efficient, and effective! I really appreciated her insight and knowledge. She’s also supportive and even during times, I doubted my own candidacy she gave me the confidence I needed. I’m headed to SAID, by top choice, and couldn’t be happier. This is a life-changing opportunity for me and I owe it to her.
Allison is AMAZING. I worked with other consultants before switching to her. Unlike the others, she was honest with me and really helped me see things about myself and my background that would make me stand out and mitigate any weaknesses. She really cares, and wants to help- even when I struggled with my essays she was there to listen and give amazing suggestions and guidance – and helped to correct my grammar too ;0. She’s incredibly knowledgeable about admissions and the process and I’m 100% certain that her insights about the best essay topics and how to position myself are what got me accepted. She’s also really accomplished so she’s able to give great career advice too, and helped me think deeper about my own personal goals and the best schools for me. The final application was so much stronger than I ever imagined it could be and I couldn’t have done it without her. She saw things in me that others didn’t, and made me feel confident. She was also amazing at giving tips for my interviews – little things about my body language, word choices make a difference! I was accepted to multiple schools and even offered scholarships. Work with Allison – you won’t be sorry!!!
