Consultant Bio

Hi! I’m Jackie. What drives me is helping people realize their strengths, improve their skills, and navigate their careers. At MBA Protocol, I love working with clients to reveal their unique capabilities and values. I believe that we often take our most special and differentiating skills for granted, and it’s a privilege to help clients develop a deeper appreciation for what they bring to the table. As an MBA grad with a non-traditional background, I also love demystifying the admissions process and helping clients translate their experiences to be understood and valued by adcoms.

Before joining MBA Protocol, I spent several years producing reality TV for networks like ABC, NBC, FOX, and VH1. Through those years of producing, I learned deep storytelling skills, based on real people’s real actions and words. I then received my MBA at Kellogg, then spent four years working as a consultant and team leader at Boston Consulting Group. My time at Kellogg and BCG have given me a sense of the level of self-reflection, strategic thinking, and communication skill needed to succeed in a rigorous MBA and consulting environment. I love that my work at Career Protocol allows me to bring together both of these sides of my experience to help my clients forge their own MBA and career paths.

Company Information

MBA Protocol

At MBA Protocol, we believe that creating a life of meaning, impact, and fulfillment is the only outcome that justifies the significant investment of time & money required to earn your MBA. We also know that to be truly sustainable, your MBA must align with your post-MBA career goals and that many of you are wondering about the return on your investment.

When you’re thinking about ROI, we urge you to think about total return. Think pay plus purpose.

Your individual path to purpose will be unique; no two will be alike. But the most successful MBA journeys require these three things: deep personal reflection, values definition, and communication skill-building. And, yes, that begins in the application process.

All our programs at MBA Protocol are designed to help you gain breakthrough MBA admissions results and prepare in advance for MBA recruiting. Only by beginning with the end in mind can you truly maximize the ROI in both increased earnings and joy and fulfillment throughout your post-MBA career.

We guide you with five key principles:

• 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗩𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲: Uncover and share your unique story to connect authentically with admissions committees.

• 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘁, 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸: Get candid, compassionate insights that respect your individuality and help you excel.

• 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵-𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱: Develop lifelong skills in self-awareness, communication, and relationships for lasting success.

• 𝗝𝗼𝘆𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆: We make the application process fun, rewarding, and confidence-enriching.

• 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿: You’re never alone. Our supportive community is here to help you grow, celebrate wins, and tackle challenges together.

MBA Protocol has tailored programs to fit every learning style and budget. Our core values of radical service and joy underpin them all, so you can confidently choose the approach that works best for you:

𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗢𝗻𝗲-𝗼𝗻-𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴: High-touch, full application support, tailored to your needs (coaches take at most 10 clients per round.)

𝗠𝗕𝗔 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘀𝘁 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴: Expert guidance from our coaches paired with the power of our whole community of peers, ambassadors, and the MBA Protocol team.

𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽: The Power of community plus personalized coaching for essays and interviews.

We don’t like to brag but we’re kinda data geeks. We track our clients’ successes with precision, and 99.1% of them who followed the MBA Success Protocol got into at least one top MBA program and with an average scholarship award of $90,675 each.

  • The One Who Made Me Cry

Jackie is simply amazing. As a consultant, mentor, friend (and, very importantly, cat mom!). I felt so lucky having her in my corner throughout the MBA journey. It all started with our initial discovery call - I felt certain everything was going to work out and I was going to learn more from Jackie than I ever imagined. She demystified the process (which I really appreciated as someone with a non-traditional pre-MBA background), helped me realize that my story was a powerful source of strength to draw from, and helped me get more clarity on my career aspirations. On top of all that, I feel so grateful for the storytelling training I received while we were working together: it was truly incredible watching Jackie listen ...

  • BEST Decision I Made... Probably Ever!

Jackie is a wonderful person and over the months we worked together, she was my coach, mentor, instructor, editor, and friend. Jackie made my MBA dreams come true and helped me gain the confidence to be vulnerable and tell my story. Just some background on me: I am the first college graduate in a blue-collar family in an Eastern European country. I had an offer to start a Master’s program after my Bachelor’s, planning to pursue a career in finance after studying. But instead of enrolling into the Master’s program, I decided to move back home to help my family through a tough time. I found a way into finance eventually, but I switched jobs several times although neither of the firms I worked at ...

  • Acceptances & Scholarships To 7/7 Schools Thanks To Jackie!!

I’m so grateful to have worked with Jackie during this application cycle– she was a patient guide/mentor, stellar hype-woman, and supportive friend throughout every step of the application process. After deciding I wanted to work with a consulting firm, I spoke with four companies. Career Protocol was the one company that I felt shared my values, gave me legitimate advice and realistic perspectives during the initial call, and was committed to helping me succeed– it felt like an ideal match. Jackie in particular stood out to me for having pursued a path (Kellogg, BCG consulting, a focus on human capital work) that was strongly aligned with my aspirations. Jackie got me from the start and as a result, was able to help me properly articulate ...

I went with Career Protocol because after hearing Angela speak on the Forte webinar I really liked that their approach goes beyond just applying to schools. Career Protocol helps you through the Pre-MBA process as well with their YOMO program. Career Protocol has an emphasis on being your authentic self which is something I thought was unique in comparison to other MBA consulting practices. I applied to MBA programs unsuccessfully last year and doing the ding review with Jackie Laine from Career Protocol was the first step in helping me think about how to do the application right. After my session, I realized that I could include a lot more about myself in my applications and be authentic versus telling a story that I think ...

  • PE To Entrepreneurship Re-Applicant

Jackie was incredible. I had applied the previous year and was not accepted to my top schools so was looking for a consultant that could help me get over the hump. A colleague recommended Career Protocol and after speaking with them and others, it was clear CP had the most personalized package with an extremely impressive track record. The area in which I needed the most help was storytelling and through a structured discovery period and countless ad-hoc conversations, Jackie was able to draw out my passions and principles to put them into an essay. Through this, and continued guidance on my resume, application forms, and later interview prep, I was accepted to Harvard! None of this would have been possible without Jackie. I would highly recommend ...
