Manisha Shahane

Consultant Bio

In addition to benefiting from the writing and teaching experience that Manisha brings to each engagement, clients appreciate her holistic approach to the application process, developed through the 60+ engagements that Manisha has led. Her interaction with clients is guided by the lessons she has learned on the road less traveled. After completing her undergraduate degree in Economics & Foreign Affairs at the University of Virginia, Manisha was a researcher at an environmental consulting firm (ICF, Incorporated) in Washington, D.C. In pursuit of a career in sustainable development, she completed a joint program through the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy at Tufts University. Upon completing her studies, Manisha gained experience in buy-side finance (Wellington Management), energy research (Cambridge Energy Research Associates), and urban education (Boston Renaissance Charter School Research, Evaluation & Assessment Team). In 2002, she began working independently as a consultant providing services in the areas of research/analysis, organizational management, strategy development, grant writing, and logistical planning.

Alongside this path, Manisha has led a career as a singer, songwriter, composer, lyricist, and instrumentalist. As a teaching artist in particular, she has worked with Rock the Classroom and the Metropolitan Opera Guild’s Urban Voices Program, and developed/taught her own programs. Since moving to Los Angeles, she has joined the roster of artists who have participated in educational programming at The Grammy Museum, California African American Museum, and Skirball Cultural Center, as well as most recently through the Music LA program of the Department of Cultural Affairs of Los Angeles. Manisha also enjoys yoga, cooking, swimming, and the outdoors.

Manisha specializes in admissions consulting for international candidates, joint degree applicants, for those with low GPAs/GMAT scores, and for those on non-traditional career paths.
