I like to think of myself as a non-traditional auditor. While I am a CPA, my focus and specialization is within the expansion of data analytics within the firm. Audit is extremely slow to advance in this manner, so most of my personal time is spent coding and utilizing public data so that my skills can still grow.

Most recently, early promoted to senior at a B4 with less than a year of experience and was able to come out in the top performers at the end year of my first senior year (although maybe with it requiring a few extra hours and stress). Additionally, have been identified as one of the D&A leaders in the region and first to pilot a new technology.
Work in strategy / management consulting within a global firm. I have seen some of the struggles that come when a large organization attempts to implement sweeping changes in strategy and I want to join a firm to learn how to better navigate these events within organizations and apply that knowledge.

You’re a little on the young side for an elite MBA program. I do think you would benefit from another year or two of work experience. That said, you have put together a strong profile for acceptance, with an early promotion and expertise in data analytics at a Big 4 firm. Your basic numbers are not only in line, but are above the class averages for Darden and you have a master’s degree to boot. So the big question becomes, Will Darden take you early or ask you to get another year or two of experience under your belt? I think Darden will want you to work a bit more.
Hi Mr. B4 Auditor, this is Donna Bauman with Stratus Admissions Counseling and it is a pleasure to weigh in on your profile. It’s great to see that passion for using data analytics to make improvements to the audit process. Audit is also a great foundation for business school as you will be a huge asset to your study groups in understanding financial statements. I think you have a good shot at Darden, Fuqua, Tuck and McCombs—and the key to success in your applications is to showcase your impact as you have alluded to here and also to share some of what motivates and drives you so that you don’t get mixed into the just another accountant pile. I like your extracurriculars and your career …
