After I completed the CREST-Ed program at Georgia State University (similar to Teach for America, but local to Atlanta), I continued to teach math for 2 years in a high-needs school in the Atlanta suburbs. After two years’ service, I returned to graduate school studying public health and biostatistics. I aspire to work in translational biotech.

My classroom was the highest-scoring class in the school, and my school was the highest-scoring in the district! Recently passed pre-calculus and calculus one in one summer, earning A’s in both! While my family is Hispanic, I didn’t grow up speaking Spanish hardly at all. After I met my wife (herself a Spaniard), I picked it up to fluency.
My primary interest in business is that I’m frustrated by the lack of translational ambition in public health. Research is important, but so is putting that research into practice! I hope to work in pharma or biotech, managing projects and teams that are combining PH, pharma, and behavioral science to innovate new products that facilitate health.
