Big Life Wins:

Strong extracurriculars to follow a double major in college and post-grad. Started out as a volunteer in March of this year at a county-level Habitat for Humanity, won Volunteer of the Year, and was nominated to the Board this fall.

Post MBA Goal:

Dream outcome is to get into a prestigious school, have an exciting career helping governments and non-profits around the world with strategic decisions. Also considering at one point running for local or state office and seeing where it goes. I always plan to be involved in community service during my life, but would like security as well.

    Mr. Community Service, you’ve had some really interesting experiences, from work as an intern at both the U.N. and in Congress to your job as a tech consultant at a Fortune 500 company (with a promotion). Not sure why your two internships would last more than a year but, in some way, that makes those experiences more compelling. Being named Volunteer of the Year for your work with Habitat for Humanity is a big plus and shows great heart and a concern for others beyond yourself. A 3.5 in econ from Michigan is solid and your GRE of 326 is on the mark for Booth which does not reveal its class average GRE scores (but they certaintly wouldn’t be below Harvard which is exactly at …

    I think youā€™ve got a lot going for you that some of the other members of the community arenā€™t recognizing. Tbh, Iā€™m not sure how a 326 GRE stacks up or what the equivalent GMAT is, but a 3.5 GPA is right under the average for admissions. While your work experience is on the slim side for Booth, I think that if you can speak to your experiences with some humility and dig in a bit more to why you want to work in public service (prestige aside), AdCom would appreciate that. Also - please ignore the comment that someone provided saying that AdCom only cares for MBB. Sure, MBB is great because itā€™s a competitive space to get into - but itā€™s not the ...
