Hi, it’s Nisha from mbaMission. I used to work in CPG as well, so it’s always nice to meet someone from that background! It sounds like you’ve been very successful in your role in that industry – 3 promotions in 3 years! – and I love your track record in sports leadership. Your goals regarding providing business strategy to CPG clients makes sense to me – make sure that in your applications, you talk about what has inspired this goal based on your experiences and observations on the client side so far.

Your GMAT hovers at the average for these programs (just below for HBS) – to help yourself stand out in your heavily represented demographic, I would recommend taking it again for a 730+. If you do so, and put together a strong application that details the motivations behind your goals, tells the story of what shaped you into who you are today, and demonstrates a strong fit with each target program based on your knowledge of its culture and resources, you’ll be a good contender. As of now, I think that Duke and Kellogg are solid target schools, and I’d definitely add Ross and Darden to your list. Hope that helps – best of luck!
Hello friend! It’s Jennifer Jackson from Stratus Admissions. I love seeing college athletes applying to MBA programs. I’ve worked with many and they are always great at showing how the skills they learned navigating the college athletic scene are so transferable to jobs and to life (and being from the SEC even magnifies the issues you likely dealt with!). Your work experience is solid and you have a good GMAT and an impressive GPA especially as you juggled your sport with classes. I think you’ll have a great story to tell. Just be sure to explain the WHY behind the MBA and how you can’t reach your goals without it. HBS is of course very competitive with an 11% admit rate and next year could …

HBS is of course very competitive with an 11% admit rate and next year could be even more so with admits this year having the deferral option. So be sure to include some more target schools on your list, but I think you have a shot!
Silver school, silver GPA, silver GMAT = silver B school; Fuqua, Darden etc. are more suitable targets
