Hailing from a family of doctors. I grew up seeing my parents running their community clinic, always striving hard to bridge the gap in affordable healthcare for the underprivileged sector of our society. I knew that one day I want to carry on their dream, so I worked hard through my school life to be selected as a doctor. Although I could have chosen a corporate hospital for my training and education, I at 18 opted for an Institute in Bastar Region which has a repute of experiencing a Naxalite Maoist insurgency, because that would best connect me To people who needed Healthcare the most. I am currently running my fathers clinic during this time of the pandemic, making sure that during this time of Global crisis, help’s provided to all those who need it.

Hi Mr. Health Nerd, Melisa here from Stratus Admissions. What jumps out first to me is your years of experience. As I am sure you know the middle 80% of YOE fall between 3-8 years. This is primarily so that a candidate has enough work experience to contribute to the classroom as well as have a planned career path. Because of this and Stanford is the most difficult program to get into I would suggest you wait a year or two to apply. That said, if now is the right time for you to apply – there are a couple things to think about. It sounds like you have had some very interesting experiences pushing your boundaries by working in a more remote area as well as innovating within your family clinic with technology during Covid. Think about how these experiences may have given your more experience than a normal year. As an earlier applicant, it will be very important for you to show your leadership ability. Have you had the opportunity to lead within one of your community organizations? While volunteering shows your commitment to the community, taking a leadership role either official or driving an initiative can highlight your leadership potential. Finally, think more detailed about your perceived steps to get to your healthcare clinic. Do you intend to start it right after your MBA? Or spend a couple years working somewhere to gain some new experience? There is no ‘right’ answer, but your proposed path needs to be ambitious, yet achievable. Best of luck!
