I come from a typical Indian middle-class family. I grew up thinking that I would go in IITs and then my life will be set. But it didn’t pan out. I joined state university. There I joined my departments’ society “PHOENIX”. Throughout my engineering, I convened many competitions. In my 4th year, I managed my college’s Inter College Tech Festival. After college, got placed in Infosys. After working for 1 year, I didn’t get the satisfaction which I needed from my job, hence I left the same and came in banking industry. Right now I am head of my Branches Forex department (500cr turnover). In my free time, I like to google about any new thing or any unique snippets about the space industry.

1) As soon as my village came to knew that now I am a banker, they started seeing up to me as a ray of hope. I went to my village and personally guided them to open bank accounts and start doing digital transactions. this helped many farmers and shopkeepers fine-tune their finances. 2) Our bank organized marketing of MULTI CURRENCY TRAVEL CARD. My colleague and I spearheaded this campaign for my branch and we were the first all over India among 4000 branches.
Professional Goals: To help each and every villager start using digital transactions (like I did with my village). Also, I have an interest in FOREX. I want to be the go-to source for anyone who is facing any problem in treasury management. Personal Goals: To start with, my main goal is to LEARN and EXPERIENCE as much as I can, to gain EXPERTISE in the field I am good at, to reach the top of the ladder in an organization and to act as a GOOD LEADER, to have SELF SATISFACTION, the thing which can’t be neglected is FINANCIAL GROWTH, to be able to face different CHALLENGES and provide best of the best solutions, to FOCUS on KRA’s and KPA’s. For me, all these Goals have value when not only me but my parents are happy and they feel proud. Last but not the least, to be a good HUMAN BEING.

Hello Mr. Indian Banker! Krista Nannery from mbaMission here. Thanks for posting! I am extremely impressed by your banking work in your village! That is very impressive and will help you stand out in this process. I am intrigued by your focus on UNC and would love to know more about why that is your only choice listed! If you have a GMAT of 740 and indeed have perfect scores from your university, you may be able to aim a little higher. One thing I might suggest is looking for candidates from your university at the b-schools you are interested in. That will give you a sense of the possibilities. (It can be tough to break into the top top schools outside of the IITs. Not impossible of course. Just tough.) I’d encourage you to widen your portfolio of schools — maybe look at the employment reports to see where FinTech placement is the highest if that is the best way to achieve your goals. All the best for your applications, Krista
