Hi Mr. Low GMAT, Thanks for posting your profile. This is Debbie Choy, Senior Consultant at mbaMission. The good news is the schools will look at your profile holistically, and not make a decision simply based on one data point (your GMAT). Although your GMAT is slightly lower than the Stern average, AdCom will also look at your work experience (which is robust), and extracurriculars (which looks solid). How will joining a large firm lead to that? If you can weave the above into a compelling narrative for your applications, I think you have a solid shot at NYU and also at Said and NUS. Wishing you the best in your MBA journey!
Hi, it’s Jennifer Jackson from Stratus Admissions. When you called yourself Mr. Low GMAT I was expecting something much lower than 690! Yes, that is lower than the average at many schools and you are competing within a very competitive demographic, but you are much more than that score and have an impressive profile otherwise. The good news is that NYU is a bit more score-agnostic than other schools. I do recommend re-taking it though if even to show them that you’ve tried again. I love that you have been involved in founding startups. What did you learn from these experiences? Schools will also want to understand the WHY behind your goals. Why a big firm after this entrepreneurial experience? Giving them details of your …
