Mr. RE Investment

About Me:

After graduating with a double Master’s Degree in France, I joined a top American developer opening its first office in Paris as an Investment Analyst, then associate. I have been heavily involved in their first successful fundraising (€1bn) and first acquisitions (2 deals totaling €160m of RE value). Post-MBA plan is to transition to a RE IB team.

Undergrad School: Paris-Saclay University (France, top 15 university)

Undergrad Major: Finance

GPA: 3.0

GMAT: 720

Age: 28,  Ethnicity: White

Other Degree/Certification: Master's Degree

School Name: EM Lyon Business School (top 4 school in France)

Extracurriculars: Urban Land Institute: member of ULI Europe actively participating in conferences and case study about affordable housing and architecture, French ambassador for diversity inclusion and work efficiency at my company: put in place call and conferences with HR Managing Director (Europe) to improve company's culture and diversity in our offices, Fundraising: have been engaged to raise debt for an African startup based in Madagascar (c.$200k).

Work History:

Title: Investment Associate

Industry: Real Estate

Company: Top Firm

Length of Employment: 3 yrs

Big Life Wins:

– First of my family to graduate from university.
– Involved in the successful fundraising of the Parisian platform of a top 3 American developer and investor.
– Created strategic partnership between my company and Regional French developers.
– Help the French team to grow and led acquisition processes on the first two deals.

Post MBA Goal:

Post-MBA I would like to join a bulge bracket (Real Estate Investment Banking Team). My background to date has all been in the real estate investment space and I feel now too close from assets. I was initially envious to join an investment banking team and I would like to use my REPE experience combined with an MBA to do so.

Mr. RE Investment – Thanks for posting your profile. Susan Cera here from Stratus.

I admire your commitment to RE! CBS has fantastic resources and initiatives in both the investment and RE space so is a great school for you. While your stats (especially your UG GPA) are below the average, I suspect that you may have converted a GPA that was not on a 4.0 scale to a 3.0. DON’T DO THIS! Just submit the GPA that is on your actual transcript.

Given that you already have two master’s degrees (If I’m reading your profile correctly), you need to clearly show why you need an MBA. I’m thinking that perhaps you need to go deeper in finance which CBS can offer. Since you are looking to …
