I have worked for 10 years in and around federal politics in the US. Having worked for the House of Representatives, I resigned following the Capitol Riot on January 6th, 2021. The event has been very formative and pushed me to change my perspective. I have since worked in Public relations at high-profile firms before landing at the federal level.

While working as a Research Associate at Harvard, I was allowed to co-lead multiple panels at MIT and Harvard to share my team’s research. Despite not knowing the language until I was 19, I managed to successfully learn Chinese and study at Tsinghua while doing so. Unfortunately, my lack of experience in Asiatic languages tanked my GPA.
A mentor of mine told me that if you want to work in the public sector go to HBS, for the private sector go to HKS. I think there is a lot more I can do at the public level and I’d hope to continue working for federal agencies in the future but with the skills and connections to build up what I believe has been torn down.
