Hi Mr. Strategy Nerd, Melisa here from Stratus Admissions. Sounds like you’ve had some interesting experiences around M&A that will lend themselves to you taking P&L responsibility. I like that you want to grow in manufacturing – and it would be helpful to be more specific around the role and type of company you want to work at. With 11 years of experience, you are older than most full time MBA candidates. If you are certain you want a full time experience, you will need to explain why now is the right time for you. And why you need an MBA to do the move you are talking about. I completely understand the desire to ‘run’ your own thing. Ironically, many people move in house (from consulting) to do this, but it sounds like you’ve landed in a more advisory role. I would encourage you to consider executive programs as you will be sitting at the table with others with similar years of experience. Executive programs are also generally more forgiving from a stats perspective. While your 710 is solidly within INSEAD’s middle 80%, you will be competing against other Indian consultants with higher scores. With the combo of your years of experience (higher than average) and GMAT, I think you are looking at a steep hill. I think you would be very competitive at any of these programs at an Executive level. Best of luck!
