    You are right to retake the GMAT. Here’s hoping you can hit that 700 score because everything else about your profile is ideal for an elite MBA program. Regardless of your sub-700 GMAT, you stand very good chances at most of the school you plan to apply at. The reason: West Point and your incredible military experience. By the way, for you and others out there, a 690 is a perfectly solid score for someone who does not have other red flags in their application.     You are wise to re-take the GMAT which really is the only red flag in your otherwise stellar profile. If you can break 700, your chances at Kellogg are very good. You have solid and impressive leadership experience, progression from a platoon leader to an executive officer, and concrete post-MBA goals. Your choice of target schools also reflects much thought and range. I might also apply to UVA Darden because the vet community there is strong. Good luck to you!
