Ms. Consultant to Family Business, I think your odds look great. You already have several gold stars on your resume, including a great GPA from an Ivy League school, a good GMAT (something CBS and other top schools continue to target) and a consulting role with an MBB firm. Ms. Consultant to Family Business, I think your odds look great. You already have several gold stars on your resume, including a great GPA from an Ivy League school, a good GMAT (something CBS and other top schools continue to target) and a consulting role with an MBB firm. One thing that isn’t so obvious is whether your company is sponsoring you through your MBA. If so, great, and that’s an extra point in your favour. If not, then the Adcom may question why not. Heading up diversity recruiting points to you being given the nod for some early leadership and extra responsibility which is also good as I know these ‘extra’ roles are hotly contested. You are of course in an ever-competitive pool of applicants so I would look to really showcase your extracurriculars, especially your social impact role. If you can create a strong story around these aspects of your journey it will help give you visibility in a crowded arena. I don’t see any issues with you going back to MBB (again, though, the question I have is whether you are sponsored and therefore returning to your existing company?) and the family business is a solid long-term option. I’m pretty sure Wharton would welcome you back, but I’d advise stretching your wings and gain the additional perspective an MBA from another school will bring.
