Hi Ms. Fashion Tech, Kristen from MBA Prep School here. While I don’t have much information in your profile to base my assessment on, what I can say is it sounds like you are doing some cool work at the intersection of fashion and technology. I’m assuming you left consulting to work in strategy within tech and the experience of the IPO must be providing fantastic learning opportunities for you. Admissions Committees will like that you’ve had experience in the more traditional, established consulting world (where they are well-versed in typical career progression) as well as the entrepreneurial space. I also really like the work you are doing mentoring within accelerator programs and advising the BFC. These will serve as some great differentiators for …

I also really like the work you are doing mentoring within accelerator programs and advising the BFC. These will serve as some great differentiators for you. While your undergrad work is solid, your GMAT is going to be particularly concerning for HBS and Stanford. Given the lack of clarity around your exact career goals and successes, it is hard for me to say if you have enough strengths to overcome the 680 when you will be fighting for a spot within a highly competitive pool. It would be in your best interest to expand your school list and brainstorm what impactful stories to tell to prove to the Admissions Committee that they should look beyond your test score. I would be happy to offer you a complimentary consultation to provide some advice on how to strategically position yourself as an applicant!
