So here’s the deal. I like you and you have solid inline stats and a really cool job in impact investing, a very hot growth area. But Stanford is super tough and there is nothing really driving you into the school. Maybe your extras are more extra than they appear to be. That could be how you would differentiate yourself in the most competitive MBA applicant pool in the world. At the GSB, you need some secret sauce because 94% of those who apply are getting turned down and that is from a self-selecting pool of amazing candidates. Broaden your selection of schools and don’t put all your eggs in the Stanford basket. Your chances at Harvard, Wharton, Columbia, Booth would be substantially better.
