Kudos to you for the success in founding your own consulting company and growing revenues sixfold over just three years. That is a powerful story in itself. Add your 750 jumbo GMAT score to this story and you are a serious candidate for admission to the toughest prestige business school in the world. Sure, you’re 3.5 GPA is below average for Stanford but I don’t think it matters all that much given your standardized test score and your work history. The most important thing you need to do in your application is to make clear your motivations for starting your own firm and provide detailed examples of its success. I imagine this was a bootstrapped startup so you don’t have angel investors or venture capitalists …

Sure, you’re 3.5 GPA is below average for Stanford but I don’t think it matters all that much given your standardized test score and your work history. The most important thing you need to do in your application is to make clear your motivations for starting your own firm and provide detailed examples of its success. I imagine this was a bootstrapped startup so you don’t have angel investors or venture capitalists who can essentially verify the idea and your success. That is why getting into how you have helped some of your clients and how you have grown the firm beyond yourself (if that is true) would be essential to a successful application. Good luck to you.
