During my 3 years at a well-known consulting firm in Washington D.C. I have spent most of my time working with America’s largest health insurer and its lobbying team. I’ve grown from an assistant to the main client lead brining in over 10 million in revenue each year. No role on an account is too small or large for me to tackle and I’m a sought after problem solver.

Hi Ms. Top Consultant, Congrats on your multiple promotions! This is Debbie Choy from mbaMission. I’m impressed by your professional progress and achivements. The weak point in your profile is the GMAT. Like what Susan recommended, do look into the GRE or EA. Different candidates find different test formats more suited to their studying technique. If you find yourself hitting a ceiling with the test, you can consider working with a private tutor who can help you get past that. As you put your app together, be sure to articulate why you’re passionate about CPG brand management. What motivates you to pivot from healthcare consulting to CPG? As well, try to weave in your personal stories so that AdCom understands how they have shaped you as …

As well, try to weave in your personal stories so that AdCom understands how they have shaped you as a professional / leader. My estimate of your chances are based on your current GMAT score. But if you can bump up your score past 700, your chances will also improve. If you wish to discuss your profile in further detail, feel free to schedule a consultation with us. Wishing you the best in your MBA journey!
Ms. Top Consultant – Thanks for posting your profile. Susan Cera here from Stratus.
Wow! I’m very impressed by your quick advancement and that you are able to quantify your impact as you solve problems. Well done! Clearly your work experience will be a strength in your application and I suspect that you will easily be able to find recommenders who will sing your praises.
One area where you can improve is on the standardized test. If you haven’t already done so, I encourage you to retake the GMAT. Another option would be to chose a different test (GRE or EA). One area where you can improve is on the standardized test. If you haven’t already done so, I encourage you to retake the GMAT. Another option would be to chose a different test (GRE or EA). Darden is VERY flexible in terms of what standardized test they will take. In fact, I believe they were willing to look at SAT and ACT scores this past year! I suspect that your undergrad in International Relations may not have been quant heavy. If your Q on the standardized test is below 70%, consider taking a math course to demonstrate that you are ready for the rigor of the program.
I’m curious about your goal of going into brand management in CPG. To land a seat at Darden, you will need to share the motivations behind your goal and demonstrate how an MBA, combined with the skills you have already developed, will put you on track to be successful as a brand manager. Given your background in the healthcare landscape, perhaps you might focus on healthcare CPG (e.g. J&J).
You didn’t share much about your extracurriculars. Think about how you have demonstrated leadership as a mentor and what choir has taught you about teamwork and diversity.
I suspect that you will have a great story to tell! Reach out to Stratus if you would like to discuss.
