My immediate post-MBA goal is to further immerse myself into public service in a way that improves veteran acclimation into society, supporting them in their transition process as a Regional Director. My long-term goal is to expand my public services outreach audience beyond veterans as a Global Leader.

Hi, it’s Nisha from mbaMission. First of all, thank you for your service, and for your continued involvement in the community! It sounds like you’ve had progressive and impactful experience in the military, which the admissions committee will value along with your mentorship. A couple of areas of concern: 1. your low GPA, which you’ll want to explain in the optional essay in a way that shows ownership and 2. your career goal – I’m a bit unclear on what draws you to an MBA and what type of role you’d want after graduating. I’ve worked with many applicants who have aspirations in the public service area, and I nearly always advise them to highlight a short-term goal that will give them the skills they need to achieve these aspirations (generally in the private sector) and one that will assure their employment post-MBA (since this is something schools focus on). So I’d think more about this – perhaps general management, or consulting?
Additionally, I’d expand your list of schools – some that are known to be especially military-friendly are: Darden, Tuck, Fuqua, and Johnson. Hope that helps a bit!
You’ll need to makeup for your low GPA, with I would think a 330 or greater on the GRE. You’re at about the 50th percentile now. A 330, would put you over the 90th. Good luck!!
Thank you for your service! Not to be the bearer of bad news, but your stats and academic background do not make you a competitive candidate. Your GPA is well below any of the listed schools and your GRE is very poor. You can definitely look into an MBA at a different school, but you don’t have a chance at an M7 or top 15.
